My husband and I are kicking ourselves for not staying longer than 1 night. We were heading from Los Angles to San Francisco and stayed at this Best Western for 1 night; after we arrived we wanted to stay a few additional nights and actually contemplated missing a few days of our San Francisco family reunion. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, […] ordering room service was key for our stay as we have a baby and room service was friendly, speedy and the food was excellent! We had a beachfront room with a fireplace - LOVED IT! We enjoyed the comforts of home with a beautiful view - they even provide you with binoculars in your room - we were able to see sea otters playing in the ocean. Our room also had a fully stocked mini-bar/snack bar with an excellent selection of drinks/snacks at low prices (I enjoyed a mini bottle of champagne on our balcony while watching the sunset over the ocean - what a treat). We also loved that guests could bring their dogs; our room had no dog odor or any dog hair - this hotel does a wonderful job of keeping the rooms/facility clean. Our room also had a partial view of the well maintained pool/spa. Overall my husband and I would rate this hotel 5 stars (it's not a high end luxury hotel, this hotel is unique and we hope to vacation here for many years to come); we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. My husband and I really enjoy our visits at this hotel. This was our third visit to this hotel over the last three years. My only complaint is the pillows on the beds could be more comfortable. We will be for sure use this hotel again the next chance we get.

The hotel is perfect. They pay attention to every small detail. The staff are great, and nothing is too much trouble. We especially enjoyed the campfires every evening for watching the sunsets over the ocean.

We came here to go to Hearst Castle for my birthday. We decided to stay in the room with the king bed, patio and fireplace. It did mention we would have a DVD player but there wasn't one to be found. We brought a movie to cuddle to :) Everything was more than I imagined and it was very amazing being able to fall asleep to and wake up to the crashing […] of the waves. It takes maybe 2 minutes to get to Hearst castle from here, and the staff was VERY nice. Especially the man at the front desk when I checked in, he made me feel very welcome. I didn't realize from the website that this hotel on the beach specializes in offering access to the beach to pet owners. This doesn't bother me, as I am a pet owner myself, and would have enjoyed walking my 90 lb Golden Retriever on the beach had I brought him. The annoying part was the number of elderly couples with little yapping dogs on thirty foot […] leashes they don't know how to operate. That and the fact that you couldn't walk down the trails without being tripped by their leashes. Oh, and the beach is full of dog poo. Read more

This is the second time we've stayed in this hotel and we loved it both times. What could be better than waking up to a view of the Pacific Ocean crashing on the cliffs? Loved the location, right on the beach! Attached restaurant was very good also. Would have liked to have had a fan in the room because the weather was quite hot when we were there. No air-conditioning. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Very nice and comfortable. The adjoining or nearby restaurant was terrific. We had the same server two days in a row, and she was great. I ordered Oatmeal from a restaurant for the first time in years because it was actually Oatmeal! The hotel wasn't the greatest but it was inexpensive and clean.

Great location to/from Hearst Castle. The web pictures are somewhat misleading since the views though great and close to the water are not seen from your room. We're pretty satisfied on our one night stay. The bed, at least in the room we're in needs to be changed/upgraded.

The facility was beautiful. We arrived after 10pm, but were invited by the staff to enjoy the bonfires burning along a bluff-top trail on the ocean side of the property. There were a good number of guests enjoying the grounds as we were. Our room was comfortable, quiet and nicely appointed.

Great hotel, right on the beach. Choose this one due to the beach fire pits. Guests would monopolize the area, and there weren't accessible chairs to get your own and site on the periphery. All in all, a great idea.

The room was great...more in room amenities than most places offer. The location was fabulous right on the ocean and at night the hotel builds a bonfire. If it had not been so freezing out we would have gone. Be aware that restaurants close at about 9:00 so plan to arrive early enough for dinner somewhere as you are in the middle of nowhere. The only problem I had during my stay was a drunken jerk in the next suite waking me up in the middle of night (because I kept my balcony door open so as to hear the ocean). I called the front desk and they promptly shut him up. So, in summary, a wonderful stay.

I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure what to expect because the price was so reasonable. We had a wonderful stay! The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The property is located on the beach and at night they light bonfires. My kids loved making Smores and we loved the watching the waves crash in the beautiful moonlight!
