    I loved this hotel. It was quiet, right next to the beach, literally across the street, beautiful, clean and reasonably priced. Hearst Castle was ten minutes away. During January through the months of March the Elephant Seals are breeding, giving birth and fighting on the beach they are so close for viewing. Also ten minutes away from this hotel.     The people were very nice but I felt mislead about the location of my room. I was under the impression my patio faced the ocean and paid extra for the patio but it faced the parking. Because of this the room was way overpriced. In general, the hotel, really a motel, was overpriced and this was not high season.

    Four couples have convertibles, enjoyed the 101 drive up the coast from Orange County. 3 booked rooms through Best Western, I booked through Hotels.com . My rate was less then theirs. However, they had rooms with sliders that lead out to a patio with chairs and table. We did not. Our room faced the parking lot of next door hotel. Quiet. Very spacious […] room- fireplace for cool evenings! Hotel has GREAT location directly across from ocean! Spectacular sunsets! Outstanding complimentary breakfast in morning. Breakfast meats, eggs, assorted pastries, waffle maker, cereals, juice. Space rather tight as we were group of eight & almost filled the room! Mattresses and bedding could be more luxurious !     We made a reservation for a King on a busy day. The hotel put us in a 2 queen room. The lady working the counter was the best she us our king and really worked to get.     This hotel is very well situated by the beach (road to cross), easy access for boardwalk and close to a restaurant. Lovely position for sunsets. It was ideal for our one night stay whilst passing through. However, although our room was clean and comfortable it was rather dark and dismal, the size of the TV cabinet was overpowering, must have been 7feet […] high! Room was ideal for one night, but our rate was very expensiveand I would have been disappointed if staying longer. Hotel great position, room dowdy, and expensive. Read more

    This hotel is a good halfway point when driving between San Francisco & Los Angeles. Good old fashioned accommodation but very comfortable. Cambria close by and some excellent shops.
