I go to Philly every year and this hotel had by far the most convenient location. Free parking, near all the major museums. Also, a short walk to Whole Foods where I bought breakfast. And a great neigthborhood too. My only complaint was the shower was a little lukewarm.

I choose Best Western for previous good experience in other units of the brand. But this unit is getting too old and need quick improvement. There was only one elevator working and too slow. The carpet looks dirty. The discharge on the toilette was stiff. The thermostat was defective and required maintenance. But the worst was the noise of a running […] water from an inner piping that was not perceptible during the day but at night made sleeping a painful experience. A good point was the bar where I could drink a couple of beers, but breakfast is not an option. The front desk of the hotel suggested me to look for breakfast somewhere else. I chose this hotel because it was close to where the marathon was taking place. Location was great. Hotel staff was good. Bar was good. Food was okay. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good but was a little pricey. Problems with my room: Sink faucet in bathroom was loose. Thought it would break off. TV signal kept going out. Couldn't watch TV. Room […] was too hot. AC didn't work. Had to open window to cool it off. Don't think the thermostat worked. The windows didn't have a good seal. Could hear the traffic. Lighting in the room wasn't that good. Bed was comfortable & sheets were clean. Bathroom was clean. I did not drive to this destination. I took the train & walked from the train station. It was an easy walk & pretty simple to get to. I walked all around the city & found it very easy to navigate. I walk a lot so I used to walking a few miles a day. I stayed here because I idiotically forgot to make a hotel reservation until the day of and all other hotels were full. That is the only situation under which I would stay here. You can't beat the location. Within one block is the new Barnes Collection museum, the Rodin Museum and a Whole Foods market with hot breakfast and lunch bars. Not fancy but a comfortable hotel. Our only complaint was the very slow elevator.

The location and price were my main factors in choosing this hotel. The staff was very helpful. I esp. liked the fact that I could easily walk to the Philadlephia Museum of Art and that the hotel is located a short taxi ride from the 30th St. Amtrak Station.

The hotel is only about a 10-minute walk from the train station and a 15-20 minute walk from the convention center. It is in a good neighborhood, very close to the museums. It has free outdoor parking. The room was kept in a very clean state. In other words, easy, convenient, but not the prettiest girl at the party. Loved the ample parking and in-city location, but the physical plant is beat. My room was dressed out in standard hotel furniture and everything, for the most part, was clean. That, for me, was all that I needed for this trip. There was a leak in a pipe above my bathroom which […] left a small puddle of water on the floor, and the walls are paper thin. The elevators are archaic and the hallways a bit creepy. But, hey, the rate was great, the parking is free (I paid $25 to park at another hotel on an earlier trip) and plentiful and the room was clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the Best Western in Long Island City which is only a short ride to manhattan via subway. Hotel was clean with passable breakfast. Area seemed OK even at night, but caution is urged. If you are looking for good value, this is hard to beat and is removed from similar estrablishments in Manhattan at far higher prices

This is a good place to sleep if you want to be near the museum and river. The hotel is worn, but actually a good deal compared to the downtown rates. A Starbucks and Wholefoods are nearby, which is great.

All thing considered this is a good facility. elevators and rugs need refurbishing. Decor is a little dated and needs some help. I have stayed here twice in the last year and I have no problem going back again. For the money and great location you can't beat it.

The hotel staff that we were dealing with seemed indifferent. One of the biggest problems we encountered was that the hotel shuttle did not start until 7:20 a.m. This required a call for a taxi at a cost of $30 + (twice)!

This place was the worst. We went to PA for one day from NY. Initially the room seemed to be ok. After a long, hot summer day of sightseeing we wanted to take a nice shower and go to sleep. Didn't happen. The shower drain was clogged to the point where if the water was on for 30 seconds the tub was filled as if we were going to take a bath. It was disgusting. […] There was a dirt ring around the tub and the same issue had occurred with the sink. We called down to the front desk and were told that there was nothing that could be done about it. We asked for a plunger to try and fix it ourselves and what we got looked as if it was just taken out of the dumpster behind the hotel. The plunger was as dirty and disgusting as the tub. For the money we spent for one night only we should have had better accommodations. At check out we received a $25 refund not even close to what we spent on the room. The staff wasn't helpful and they weren't customer service oriented. Terrible business. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Read more
