This hotel provides a comfortable room with a great location in Marigot. The service is excellent. The hotel provides a very nice buffet breakfast every day included in the price of your room which makes the price even better than we expected our first time there. We've stayed here two years in a row because of the location, price, and quality of service. […] The only complaint I have is that the beach chairs did not have umbrellas with them this year and some people prefer shade to sun at the beach. Everything was wonderful except the construction going on by the pool. Take smaller bills, too because the front desk never has much change. Also, no bellhop to help with luggage. Perfect location for the Marigot marketplace! Supermarket right next door. Would go back after the construction is complete.

We love this Hotel Beach Plaza! The complimentry full breakfast is GREAT! Its just a short walk to Marigot, just 10 minutes from Princess Casino. All the hotel employees are very cordial & polite, & cannot be more helpful. We are looking forward to the renovation of the hotel & we can't wait to go back next January!

Hotel Beach Plaza is close to all you want to see and do in Marigot, and has a good breakfast buffet. But that is about it. When we checked in the security guard had to remove the giant padlock from the door, apparently there had been an armed robbery a few weeks ago. Everything is old and worn and dated, but it is overall clean. Speaking of clean... […] the disinfectant they use smells like a mixture of bubblegum, wintergreen, mint and manure. Nice. There really was no beach to speak of, the waves seem to be washing away the building foundation even. We most likely will look to stay elsewhere in the future. Way overpriced for what you get. I spent 4nights there on September, which is not the Hot season regarded at St Maarten, there are not many tourists in hotel, my wife and I can enjoy quiet free breakfast with several others in the morning by the swimming pool , looking at Carabean sea, listening to the waves brushing the shore. The breakfast is typical of European, with great French […] cheese. This is the breakfast I never had in US hotel with free breakfast. The hotel has its own mini sea shore, but large enough for swimming and snorkeling. We walked to the Marigot, said the France side capital nearby in five minutes. In one sentence, the hotel is good enough if you are do not live to a millionaire expecting. To our exception, the island itself is a little disappointing, third world poverty is mixed with the riches luxious houses, over developed community occupied almost every inches,which is not my island dream. I normally don't write reviews, but I feel that I have to share this info with potential tourists. The hotel was OK, but after the first night my wife complained that red bites appeared on her leg. Since I didn't have any bites, I thought that a spider might have bitten her on the beach. A week after we got back little red itchy bites appeared all over […] my skin as well. I could not see any bugs, flees or anything, but the bites kept appearing all day long. They are in linear patterns which is the sign for bed bugs. Apparently each person has different reaction to bed bugs and the itchy spots can appear even 9 days after the bite. When we got home we washed all our clothes and I hope we didn't infest our place as well. So be aware! Read more

Hotel Beach Plaza is a relaxing place to stay. Loved the beach and pool and scenery; loved to be able to walk to all areas of Marigot. It needs a little sprucing up but rooms and all other areas were clean and the staff is rated A1. Full breakfast is delicious and plentiful. I can't wait to go back.

If your budget is tight and you do not mind much about luxury, then this is the perfect place for you. It is well located in the French side of the Island. 20 minutes away from the airport early in the morning, 35 to 40 minutes during rush hours. 5 minutes walk to the Marigot center area with over 20 very nice restaurants and many clothing and jewerly […] stores. This was the only hotel that seemed to offer a one-night only stay, which is what we wanted so as to arrive on the island a day ahead of starting a sailing cruise. It was a long taxi ride from the airport and an even further ride to the port where the ship put in. Lunch at the lido bar was nice, the buffet dinner was so-so. We wanted to stay near the market in Marigot, and this was a great hotel for that purpose. However, the market is only really at its best on Saturday, so perhaps a different location would have been better. We only stayed two nights, so it was fine, but I think if I were to stay longer I would want to be nearer to other things (Front Street shopping, […] perhaps). The surrounding neighborhood looks a bit rough, and I suspect it might be, but we were not bothered when walking out a night. There are some restaurants near the "market" that are quite good, but more choices on other parts of the island. The hotel itself is quite nice, and the food is good. We were delightfully surprised by this hotel! We had opted for a cheaper stay in Marigot to take advantage of Bastille Day festivities, and ended up at a charming hotel with helpful staff, a nice pool (practically lap size, if you swim), and an easy 8-minute walk to the center of Marigot. Upon arriving, we decided to upgrade for a seaside view (well […] worth it!) and spent a couple hours each day sitting on the balcony. This is an older hotel, but it is well maintained. There is a great courtyard with glass ceiling, making it accessible rain or shine. If you stay, take a walk into Marigot and enjoy great food at Chabin's Cafe and Bistro de la Mer. Location was great. Close to town and many restaurants )opened late) near/at the harbor. The Wifi was spotty in my room but still available all over the hotel. The continental breakfast had offered a good variety of food and drinks. The only negative was the beach front, it was o.k. at best. Overall, it is VERY good for the price.

I chose this hotel because it was in walking distance to Marigot as my husband and I like to walk to different places and not just be stuck in the resort. We encountered beautiful rainbows from our oceanfront balcony and got some outstanding photos. The room on the other hand looked dated and the pillows/mattress were icky and yellowed. The air conditioner […] works, but kicks off approximately every hour, so you manually have to turn it back on. Try the chocolate filled croissants for breakfast. The service at the hotel wasn’t very helpful. There was no one to help us with things to do other than the gentlemen that was sitting across from the front desk renting cars. My recommendation is to walk a few minutes to the Tourisms building. They were extremely helpful and provided many recommendations/brochures of things to do on the island. Keep in mind if you are looking to do more then laying on the beach, Marigot is pretty much DEAD when there are no cruise ships coming in. We were extremely disappointed when we walked around on Sunday afternoon and 90% of the stores and restaurants were closed ! We took a cab over to Philipsburg and were relieved to see that there was one cruise ship that came in everything was open til 2 pm. Although the French side has some beautiful beaches (keep in mind topless and even nude is allowed), I would recommend the Dutch side. They seemed friendlier and Phillipsburg offered more shopping and casinos as well. Read more

And it was recommended by the Windstar Cruise company (probably because it is the only hotel near the port). But that's where the good comments end. This hotel is very expensive has has brown water. When we asked for one they said "impossible!". This hotel is not worth the money, but it is for sale and the employees are hoping the new owner will sink some money into it. They all know it is not up to par. And don't rent a car there - the guy will change he rules when you return the car - when it has to be returned, how full the gas tank needs to be....not a square shooter! If you prefer Marigot on the French side to the big hotels on the Dutch side, as we do, this is an ideal location. Great harbor view, Anguilla view, fairly short walk to the center of Marigot, very short walk to the marina area on Simpson Bay with many very good restaurants, etc. Great for a first or last night of a sailing trip.

The other side faces a boat rework yard and the busiest road in town. There is not a lot of tourist attractions around Hotel Beach Plaza. The Dutch side of the island has more for the younger generation. Also, it is hard to communicate with some staff if you speak English as most of the staff speaks only French.
