It is a good location to see the city if you do not mind to travel on foot. If you make a right in front of the hotel it will take you to a nice shopping area in down town Antwerp within 20 minutes walking distance, and if you go to the back of the hotel it will take you to the port with all the yacht that you can walk along the river or see the sun […] set in the evening. The only real problem with this hotel is that they charged us with a city tax when we checked out that we were not told about when we booked the room. A lot of hotels impose taxes but they are supposed to be indicated with the room rate so you can compare the overall cost with other hotels when deciding which to book; I think this was something of a […] cheat even though it wasn't an enormous amount of money. Otherwise the hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable and well-run, with a very good breakfast; the only complaints, minor ones, were that it had little in the way of English language TV and that you had to sign in anew every time you used the wifi service. It is a little removed from the historic center, but there are regular buses you can take; the back of the hotel also offers a nice view of a harbor. The neighborhood has some restaurants nearby though not a huge selection. Read more

Our room had the best view of the harbor and the new museum. Size of the room was good and they gave a free breakfast that was really good!!!! The view made the room, we traveled for 31 days in Europe ( 31 hotels) several 5 stars, but this was our favorite, should be higher than 3 stars.

Our room was exceptionally large and comfortable. Everything was in good repair. The desk staff was helpful in answering questions about restaurants etc. The breakfast, which is included in the rate, was very good. The breakfast room tends to be busy but there is sufficient staff to ensure that tables are cleared promptly and the buffet is replenished. […] The traffic pattern made is tricky to drive to the entrance of the hotel; it is impossible to turn left unless you know you have to be in the right side "collector" lanes of the boulevard. There are no restaurants very close to the hotel, but the port area, which is a 10 - 15 minutes walk, has a wide variety of restaurants. The very new and interesting MAS museum is also in the port area, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The historic core of Antwerp would be a 30 to 40 minute walk. The location was good for us: it was very quiet and my children were old enough to walk the 15-20 minhutes to the city centre. The walk was interesting as you pass the harbour and new museum. We only stayed one night, but we enjoyed it. We had 2 adults and 3 small kids in a "Superior Double" room, and I was surprised to find there was actually plenty of space. The staff had a Pack-n-Play crib already set up in the room when we arrived, and had pulled out and set up the large sofa bed as well. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities […] you'd expect from a budget chain. Breakfast was nothing fancy but had nice variety -- boiled eggs, lots of breads, meat and cheese, good coffee. Parking was easy to access and there were plenty of spots when I showed up on Thursday evening. Unfortunately, driving in Antwerp is a **nightmare** of streets-within-streets, one-way loops that force you kilometers out of your way, etc., but that's hardly the Holiday Inn's fault! The hotel is quite far from the Antwerp railway station and there are no public transport to the hotel from the station. I found the room to be quite small and the breakfast to be on a poor side compare to the other hotels I have stayed in the similar price range. Major attractions, restaurants etc are also quite far from the hotel.

This hotel was a great disappointment after the Holiday Inn Express in Gent. The whole atmosphere was not what we had expected and we had two major issues. Firstly, we had specifically asked for a double bed and two singles but were told on arrival that only two doubles were possible. We knew our request could not be guaranteed, but it would have been […] nice to know that it was not possible, and we could have made other arrangements. I will be taking this up with Expedia. Functional hotel within 15 minutes walk from centre. Parking surcharge euro 16 which I thought was a bit pricey. Take care with one way system when arriving as it is easy to miss the entrance to car park. Room basic but clean. Slept 2 adults and 2 young children on sofa bed. Stayed here for 4 nights upto and including New years eve, with my wife and 2 young children. Hotel looks to be fairly new. We asked for two double beds and upon checking in to our room found that the sofa bed was made up as the double bed for the children, this was perfectly adequate for us. The staff were friendly and helpful and certainly seemed […] to have a good understanding of several languages, one young girl in particular was very helpful. The inclusive continental breakfast was offered a good selection, there was plenty of seating, but be warned if you don't get yourself seated and eating before 9am be prepared to queue as it certainly got busy. The hotel was a little further than we would have liked from central station and the old town centre, but there were bus stops close once you knew which busses went where otherwise if you didn't mind walking through some interesting streets, or around the Marina behind the hotel you could get to most places within a half hours walk. Overall for what we paid we were happy with all aspects of this hotel and would be pleased to recommend it to anyone on a budget that is looking for somewhere good to get a good start in the morning, get their head down for a good sleep at night while exploring this lovely city. I was in Antwerp for a concert at the Sportaleis and I stayed at this hotel for several days so I could see Antwerp. The hotel is in a good location, there is a bus stop right in front, and also it is only a 15 min walk to Antwerp central station and zoo, the Meir shopping street, and about 20 mins to the Groenplaats, Grote Markt, Stadhuis, and Het […] Steen castle. Essentially everything worth seeing in Antwerp is within walking distance of the hotel. There is a nice pretty dock just at the rear of the hotel, and great sunsets can be enjoyed there. Also just behind the dock, 5 mins walk away from the hotel is the Museum aan de Stroom (MAS). If you are staying here for Sportpaleis/Lotto Arena events, it is very easy to get to the concert hall from the hotel. The people in the hotel are very friendly, the internet is very fast in the hotel and the beds are very comfortable. Read more

The hotel was situated quite nicely, and was a 20 min walk to the tourist destinations like the Meir shopping street, Antwerp Central station, and about 25 mins walk to the Groenplaats and Grote Markt. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Antwerp City-North for 3 nights in May because we were attending a conference in Antwerp. You can get to the hotel form the central train station in 10 minutes by Taxi and it costs just about 8 Euros. Walking to the city center takes about 20 minutes on foot. The famous MAS museum is nearby. However, the hotel itself […] is just OK. There is no bar fridge, no safe in the room. The bathroom is small. The cleanliness of the room is also barely ok. I saw yellow stains on sides of the toilet so obviously the room cleaning was not thorough. The breakfast was also just OK and very busy between 8 and 9am, hardly a table was free. The elevator broke down for a whole day and we had to walk up and down the stairs. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are no shops in the vicinity so you are at the mercy of the hotel reception fridge for buying water or sandwiches that are quite expensive. All in all it is ok to stay there for a couple of days no not longer! Read more
