You cannot stay closeer to the airport. You walk from the Hotel elevator across to the the departure gates. Staff was very helpful with directions on using the train to get into the city.

We liked the hotel and would stay there again. Staff was accommodating and helpful during our stay. Hotel and rooms were clean. Rooms were spacious. The room options are confusing. We reserved 3 standard rooms, one of them had a kitchen for the same price but no silverware/china/pots. We did not spend Euro 15 for breakfast there. A butcher and baker are in walking distance and serve breakfast there too. Several restaurants nearby. Commuter rail to Duesseldorf not too far away.

This is a real 5 star hotel. The rooms looks exactly like a luxury one, the staff is very kind and the hotel facilitys are complet. I also recommend the... hotel food. They have some nice things in the restaurant. The surrounding neighborhood in quiet, near the stadium, but a little far from the city center by Dan from Romania on 02/15/11

Founded in the ninth century, Bochum is known for its automotive and steel industries and has an attractive old town area. The church of St Peter and Paul was built by Charlemagne and reconstructed in the gothic style in the 16th century. I chose to rent an executive room in order to be able to use the internet , but it turned out to be the worst Internet ever!!! It does not allow more than one user and only one device at a time ; in addition to a very week signals. Besides, there is no business center in the hotel, but only two desk top terminals, but not full time computers; in other […] words you can't use any CD, DVD or even a USB; on top of that, you have to pay 5 € per each 15 min. Use of any of these terminals even if you have a free Internet to your room. The room is convenient in general, but is equivallent to *** motels in the USA, and definitely can't be compared to that in similar class hotels. very helpful staff, reasonably priced bar food and drinks. overall very impressed. unlike many german hotels, the king size bed was actually a king size bed, and not just 2 singles pushed together. my only small minus is that the location is a little outside the centre of bochum, about a 40 minute walk. also the tv was built in the 1970s!

Für eine Nacht ganz ok, aber 5 Sterne hat das Haus nicht verdient. Zimmer groß und geräumig, aber etwas abgewohnt, im Bad Spülung nicht in Ordnung und Tissue Box fiel ständig von der Wand. Altertümliche Badewanne mit Duschvorhang.

Allgemein ein sehr schönes Hotel. Sauberkeit war allerdings nicht so. Staub nicht ordentlich gewischt und die Badezimmertür war voller Spritzer. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen. Frühstücksbüffet war auch sehr gut. Starlight Express ist auch gleich in der Nähe. Wer sein Auto stehen lassen möchte, um die Ecke befindet sich eine Stassenbahnhaltestelle. Nur […] 3 Stationen bis zum Zentrum. Die Parkgebühren am Hotel fand ich allerdings sehr übertrieben (8€ pro Tag). Für Hotelgäste sollte sowas gratis sein. Read more

Ganz besonders gefreut habe ich mich über die Gluten freien Brötchen, die mir jeden morgen zum Frühstück gebacken wurden. Das Hotel lag ziemlich direkt neben dem Starligth Express, einmal stolpern und schon da.

Die größte Enttäuschung erfuhren wir im Restaurant. Nach einer fragwürdigen Tischzuweisung kam falsches Essen in vergleichbar eher minderer Qualität. Zum Gesamturteil trägt bei die fehlende Freundlichkeit des Personals. Man hat sich weder an der Rezeption noch im Restaurant willkommen gefühlt und darum geht es doch eigentlich, oder?

Zimmer waren ordentlich und sauber,nur sollten auch Aufsteller auf dem Schreibtisch beim Staubwischen (Zimmerwechsel !) beiseite geräumt werden. Der Service war sehr gut und an der Rezeption hat man uns immer freundlich weitergeholfen. Für 5* sollten Bademantel und Pantoffel eigentlich auf dem Zimmer sein. Als wir ankamen wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Zimmer waren in einem ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Was ein wenig negativ war, war dass wir nicht darauf hingewiesen wurden das, dass Licht im Zimmer nur mit der Hotelcard aktiviert wird. So standen wir am Anfang erstmal eine Zeit im Dunkeln. Nach einer erholsamen Nacht waren wir auf das Frühstücksbüffet […] gespannt. Der Frühstücksraum war schon ein wenig voll vielleicht lag es aber daran das wir genau zur Stoßzeit kamen. Was eher negativ war, war das an einigen Essensständen das Essen leer war und lange Zeit nichts nachgefüllt wurde. Trotzdem war alles in Allem sehr sehr gut. Die optimale Lage zum Starlight Express Theater und zum VfL Bochum Stadion lassen dieses Hotel für Kurzurlauber keine Wünsche offen. Bis zur Innenstadt sind es ca 10 min, das auch sehr optimal ist. Ich kann diese Hotel mit gutem Gewissen nur weiterempfehlen. Besondern für Besuch des Musicals, Fußballfans und Kurzurlauber die, die Stadt sehen wollen. Read more

Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen, wenn man das Musical Starlight Express besuchen möchte. Vorher kann man sehr gut essen im eigenen Hotelrestaurante und sich anschließend zu Fuß in etwa 2 Minuten zur Starlight Express Halle begeben. Ich habe wirklich nur positive Argumente und werde das Hotel auch immer wieder gerne besuchen.

Wer das Renaissance Hotel bucht bekommt genau das, was in der Beschreibung aufgeführt wird. Es ist ein sehr schönes Hotel sehr nah am Musical Starlight Express. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, Standardzimmergröße, sehr schöne und bequeme Betten, im Bad nur Dusche, keine Badewanne. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, jedoch beim Frühstück […] wirkten die angestellten etwas gestresst. Der Fitnessraum ist sehr klein. Er verfügt über ein paar Cardiogeräte, eine Brustpresse und eine Schulterpresse (Kraftsportgeräte etwas seltsam ausgewählt, keine Hanteln), aber man sollte auch nie ein komplett eingerichtetes Fitnessstudio in einem Hotel erwarten. Kritikpunkte: Generell finde ich es eine Unverschähmtheit, wenn ein Sterne Hotel Gebühren für W-lan (12,50€ pro Tag, geringe Geschwindigkeit und nur 1 Computer kann dieses Nutzen) und Parkplätze (8.50€ pro Tag) erhebt. Während unseres Aufenthaltes gab es kleine Unannehmlichkeiten wie z.B. das keine Parkkarten bei der Einfahrt ins Parkhaus vorhanden waren oder das diese Karten nicht funktioniert haben. Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir doch sehr zufrieden. Einziger wirklicher Kritikpunkt ist die Internetnutzung. 12,50 pro Tag und nur ein Computer konnte sich mit den Zugangsdatan anmelden (und wir beide hätten unabhängig voneinander arbeiten müssen). Für ein 5*Sterne Hotel war die Begrüßung der Reception unpassend - wenn in eine riesige, leere Hotellhalle fünf Gäste eintreten, drei Leute am Empfang stehen, (zwei davon in einem scheinbaren Problem vertieft) und keiner (!) auch nur Anstalten macht, uns zu "empfangen" - ist das nicht 5*konform! Die von uns angestrebte Mitarbeiterin reagierte eher maulig, […] besann sich aber ihrer Pflichten (Begrüßung etc.) und gab uns dann, trotz eines Buchungsmissverständnisses, schnell passende Zimmer. Der Barkeeper war super - freundlich, flexibel - hatte einfach Spaß am Job. Bei der Abreise fiel uns der Page positiv auf, er bemerkte, dass wir ein Foto machen wollten und kam ohne Bitte, ohne Aufforderung vors Hotel und bot uns an, dieses zu machen. Es liegt ein paar hundert Meter neben der Starlighthalle und in direkter Umgebung gibt es einen Italiener, das Ramadahotel und einen Griechen. Das Hotel liegt sehr verkehrsgünstig und in max. 5 Minuten Fußweg zum Musical "Starlight Express". Die Zimmer und vor allem das Bad sind modern und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist mehr als ausreichend. Wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.
