Staff was very nice upon checkin. Called to see if room was ok. Room as a whole was clean including bathroom. Furniture needed dusting. Felt very safe in the area. Restaurants of all kinds in area. Was good location.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We were so pleased with our first stay at this Holiday Inn Express that we will continue to reserve a room here when we visit Memphis. Very clean rooms and friendly, courteous staff.

Hotel personnel were always pleasant, accomodating and helpful with local directions. The third floor smelled of tobacco, so we requested another room on a different floor which they did for us upon our arrival.

The room was clean but the shower is a joke. The shower curtains are too small or the shower rod is too high so the floor gets soaking wet when you shower. The continental breakfast was okay but they often ran out of food and didn't replenish very often or quickly. Housekeeping was very sorry!!!! They came by in the afternoon, got the trash and the towels but did NOTHING to the bed. Then they showed back up after 3 each day, for what reason I dont know. Arrived on Friday & our room was located on the 1st floor when I asked for a 2nd floor room. Upon entering the room my fiancee put his shoes in the closet on the top shelf, as he felt something pulled it out and it was a crack pipe. So I called the front desk angry. Because for the charges that shouldnt have been on the property. We changed rooms and […] went to the 2nd floor. The staff was not friendly. I travel a lot and live in Memphis so I know that Memphians are friendly, they we just not at this place. We went to breakfast saturday morning and there was no meat in sight and having gone to a lot of expresses they always carry meat products. Upon returnin to the room we got on the elevator and the cleaning lady was talking to the cook told her to go back and finish fixing breakfast said she wasnt fixing another thing these people better get some business its time for her break. Then the drain in the tub wasnt working very well, you had to hold it with your hand in order for the water to drain out. On saturday twie and on sunday once the cleaning staff tried to come in our room even though the sleeping sign was on the door. Then saturday night we found a spider on the bed and I was just done after all this. To be a holiday inn express they need some serious training and need to learn to clean throughly after each guest. WE enjoyed our thee nights. We did book a smoking room, so we knew that there would be an odor. We went to Walmart and bought a candle and air freshner. The shee and pillowt did not smell of smoke and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk people were very helpful with better directions to Beal street and Graceland than what we got from the internet. […] We did not mind the 25 minute drive to Beal street. I really liked that within 2 miles of the hotel there was a Walmart, Kroger, Gordmans and a Family Dollar is across the street. The two front desk associates that we interacted with were both unfriendly and looked liked they wish they were somewhere else. I guess that also falls into the 2.5 category. For some reason room rates were excessive the week we stayed in Memphis. I am sort of a hotel snob and normally wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole but since I was on a budget and the trip was short notice I decided to give it a go. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express during a recent visit to Memphis. The hotel was great: comfortable room with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Breakfast was better than expected. A variety of different restaurants close by. It is a good 25 minutes drive from downtown Memphis, but if that's not an issue I highly recommend it.

I did enjoy my stay at this location over a 4 day period. The only fly in the ointment was that my room was not cleaned one day due to a misunderstanding by the cleaning staff. I was rather upset coming in after a long day and seeing an unmade bed. They thought I was in the room when I wasn't. By the time I came in, the staff had left. Bummer! The breakfast was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. The only negative I noticed was the bathroom fan did not work so lots of steam in room. And there were a couple of light bulbs out. Otherwise it was a very nice experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
