After the bad reviews, I tried to find another hotel. We were surprised that is was nicer than anticipated. Our room was actually in the front - and it seemed like another building. We had air conditioning and our windows did not open. It was quiet. The carpet was stained but clean, but after a few days, the carpet seemed damp. We never used the internet […] because the pub on the corner had it for free. The location was excellent and the price here was almost 1/2 of the neighboring hotels. They did not charge to hold our bags. We never ate in the restaurant. I would stay here again. Read more

I stayed in this hotel to save money on the last leg of my trip to Europe. The room was a double room and it was a bit on the smaller side. The bathroom was pretty clean although they didn't provide me with a shower mat so be careful not to slip! Fortunately I wasn't in the room other than to drop off my bags and sleep. The Central Park Hotel was just OK. I would never chose to stay here again. There were hairs in our bed sheets...and the staff was a bit confused. There was a metro close by, but we still felt pretty removed from everything and spent more time on the underground that expected.

Good location, awkward toilet positioning with respect to the toilet paper holder. Had to lean around it. Very simple breakfast if you chose to select the continental breakfast add-on. Extra if you wanted ham, eggs, ect. Main hallways had some carpet stains. When the heater was on in the room, it smelled of cigarettess. Probably caused by the ash in […] the heater vents. If you looked down into the vent on the windowsills, you could noticeably see small piles of ash collected there. Hotel staff is quite pleasant and accommodating. Two basic problems were access to the room and the heating system. The electronic key did not work - it took 15 minutes to fix this problem after two keys failed to open the door. The heating and cooling system is a unit mounted on the ceiling that is controlled remotely. Either it did not work very well, […] or I am stupid - it fluctuated from being freezing cold to very hot. To start with: this is a 3 stars hotel, it's cheap compared to the area you are in, Bayswater is overlooking the park and next to 2 Underground stations that lead you anywhere in London for 15 mins. The room was clean, it had running water. Those are the basics i need. They had that. The staff was not helpful, borderline useless and the concierge was far from friendly or engaging, he seemed kinda bothered when people asked him questions but he did have little printed maps to draw where you needed to go which is easier that breaking out a huge map […] to find where you needed to go. you have to pay extra for internet, when i needed it the girl at the front said she couldn't do it and that i could go online and pay for it... yeah i would need to get on line to do that... Five of my friends and I stayed at the Central Park Hotel after a 12 night cruise. The location was ideal and the rooms were spacious for Europe. The only downside was the restaurant. Food was average at best. I would stay there again!

So I was lucky I got this hotel at an amazing rate because I booked it at 4pm on the day of my stay ( and I was sharing). The location is great, notting hill gate is close and I could walk to hyde park. Very convenient and quiet location, 3 minute walk to Queensway station. Next to Hyde Park and lots of restaurants. No air conditioning but was able to borrow a fan. Although hotel only has 3 total!! Internet is not free and kind of expensive but there is an Internet cafe very close. Also they charge £5 per bag to store bags!! Pretty ridiculous!!

The positive was the location. It's conveniently located close to a couple tube stations. It also is very close to multiple restaurants, stores, shops, etc. I would say that the biggest negative was the staff. They were nice but not very effective. For example, I had a slow drain in the tub in my room and had to ask, repeatedly, to have it fixed. It […] never was. Also, because there is no AC in the hotel, I asked for a fan, which I was promised would be delivered to my room. It didn't come until I had to ask for a second time. Another oddity was that I had the do not disturb sign on my door, only to be "disturbed" by housekeeping, asking if I wanted my room cleaned. I guess "do not disturb" has different meanings to different people. All in all, I'd recommend the hotel because of the location. The rooms are ok but the staff needs work. This hotel is tired and shabby. The bedding is not clean, the mattresses are worn and saggy. The rooms are very tiny - you can hardly squeeze into bathroom. The hotel mgr. is unfriendly as are some of the desk clerks. The only thing going for this hotel is the location-right across from Hyde Park. I would not stay here again.

Room size is pretty good compared to center located hotels. I am a heavy traveler and went for extensive shopping, yet managed to fit everything in the room. I would certainly recommend this hotel for single males or females, however don't think the size of the room is very comfortable for couples despite that i had a double bed room! No facility to store/leave luggage, not even for a few hours, and paper thin walls ensuring no sleep. Phone service in room required expensive deposit and phones refused to direct dial... all calls had to be placed through reception, a real nuisance. Much better options nearby.

Staff was excellent! Had an issue with the safe, last guest locked the safe. The staff resolved it immediately! Slept well every night, but there was no air conditioning in the room (window allowed enough cool air into the room). Only issue was that I could only purchase internet service between the hours of 9 am and 11 pm.

I can't recommend this hotel, other than the location, which is very good. During my 5-night stay, I slept on pillows each night to provide support for my back because my mattress was old and SOFT. I had to use hand soap instead of body wash in the shower for two days running. I had to crack open the window which overlooked a noisy street in order not […] to boil up in the dry heat of the room. At check-in, I was told they had luggage storage facilities, at check-out I was told they didn't. About the mattress: I had requested a firm, queen-size mattress when I booked. They had no record of that. They said it wasn't possible to give me a different mattress, or a different room. In the room, I discovered that my "queen" bed was in fact 2 single beds pushed together. Two VERY soft single mattresses. I called the front desk and 15 minutes later, 2 women arrived with a SINGLE mattress-size wooden board, painted, and with nails hammered down into it. They proceeded to put it between the mattress and the box spring of one of the beds. It didn't help! The Bayswater area has many other hotel options. They must be better than this hotel! Read more

Great location. Easy walk to Hyde Park and both Bayswater and Queensway tube stations. The room was spacious for London standards. Large bathroom with heated flooring and a great shower. Air conditioning, mini fridge and kettle were in working order. Phone was not however. The hotel has a good location, and is easily reached by public transportation. The concierge was available from 7 until 3:30. My room, although very near the elevator, was quiet at night. The hotel is basic, and priced well considering it is in London.
