We had a great time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, nice hotel."
This was our first visit to Quebec City. We picked the summer music festival week, which was a very vibrant time with lots of people, music and activity. The City is wonderful. We saw the free summer Cirque show, ate in marvelous restaurants, and went to Hauteville, Basseville and the Frontenac. We loved walking even in the heat and loved the beauty […] and intimacy of the Old City. There was art, ice cream, patiserries, shops, churches, museums, great cafes all in close proximity. We loved our location even though valet parking was definitely the way to go. Entering the street in front of the hotel was impossible during the festival unless you backed it. The computers at the hotel were horrible, the keyboards didn't work and it was very frustrating even though they gave you 30 free minutes. The gym was adequate. We hotel bar/restaurant was very nice. We loved our stay and would recommend it. (We were able to use the computer at the Frontenac for a charge). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"excellent concierge service"
During a crowded festival week in Quebec City, 3 concierges were never too busy to offer highly personalized service. The hotel was well-positioned to get us in the middle of things, but still be "outside" the middle -- and the noise and commotion. Apart from a mix-up in handling our luggage (moving it from one room to another) , the entire staff was […] superb. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

No freen Wifi, very small room, the reception staff not friendly (except for the concierge who was great), if you can stay elsewhere do it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Feedback on my stay at the Hotel Chateau Laurier"
Hotel Chateau Laurier is located on the Grande Allee, the main street leading into the Old Quebec. Beautiful Street with many restaurants and all with outdoor terraces. Hotel was clean with good service and great location, but aspect to be charged for everything. Here are the prices: Breakfast: $13-15 per person, Internet will cost you $5 per hour or […] $15 per day (my internet was disconnected several times); underground parking is $20 per day. To get small fridge in a room will cost you $15 per day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location for visit to Old Quebec"
The hotel staff as quite friendly and helpful. Our room was modest but adequate. The location was very good for visiting the old city - just a couple of blocks away. There were many restaurants within 2 blocks of the hotel. We were disappointed that our room was never serviced by housekeeping staff on our one full day. It was quite hot that day and […] after a full day of walking around, we were hoping to relax in the air conditioned comfort of our room but by 3:30PM it was still not cleaned. We sat in the lobby for another half hour hoping to give a bit more time tot he staff but when we returned, it still had not been attended to. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location, very nice hotel!"
This was a last minute trip and it just happened to be the start of Summer Carnival. Concerts everywhere! The hotel was located very near two of the main stages, which is great. We were concerned it would be noisy at night, but everything goes off before midnight and things were quiet! Our room was located in the Superior (newer) sextion, and was very […] nice. Area is very safe. The hotel borders a street lined with pubs and restaurants and Starbucks, so you don't need to go far to eat if you don't want to eat in the hotel's restaurant. Easy walking distance into the walls of Old Quebec, but not inside, as I thought when booking. It is approximately 3.5 blocks. Perfect location to pick up double decker red tour bus, too. Just across the courtyard from front of hotel, a block away. Highly suggest you use it to get a feel for the area. It has a hop on/off feature, which you will appreciate when you realize Old Quebec is basically one big cliff. Not for the those with poor stamina or bad hips, etc. There is a glass elevator near hotel Frontanec to take you from upper town to lower town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Around the corner from a street filled with great restaurants, up the street from the House of Parliament and a 10 mins. Walk to the center of town and to the lower town. Great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, Great Location"
The hotel is just outside of the Old City gates but everything is within a 10 minute walk. The location is just right. Our room was in the old section of the hotel. It was quite small and outdated. But it was sufficient - clean and comfortable. We didn't care much because we weren't spending much time in the room. Restaurants and bars are just around […] the corner but there are many other options all within walking distance. Parking was $20 a day with unlimited in and out access. Our stay coincided with a huge music festival and we were worried there wouldn't be parking but were assured spots were guaranteed for hotel guests. Overall our room was nothing to rave about but the location was very good for exploring. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expected more, but that's OK"
I stayed there 3 nights with the whole family. It was the only hotel close to Vieux Quebec that has 2 queen beds. The hotel is conveniently located, however certain services were not complimentary as you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is in the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, and it is expensive. Wi-Fi in the room costs $15/day, […] and even at the price it was unusable, as it dropped constantly and you have to re-login every 5 minutes. A refrigerator is a joke, it only makes your drinks slightly cooler that the room temperature. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel extremely close to old Quebec"
The staff is extremely pleasant here!!! In fact, they were the best thing about this hotel!! The proximity to old town is great! You can walk it in only a few minutes. We booked the cheapest room (double bed) and although it was clean, it was very small and lacked in style and comfort. Bed linens were dated, no mini fridge, and very small bath-- seemed […] more like a motel room. If you enjoy comfortable, updated linens, decor, etc., book one of the other more expensive rooms. The a/c on the 5th floor was poor. When you stepped out of the elevator, you immediately felt hot, stuffy air. Our room, however, was very cool as we had a unit to adjust. Just seemed odd that the rest of the hotel seemed to have appropriate a/c, but 5th floor did not. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location and Amazing Staff!"
The hotel is strategically located, only a 5-10 minute walk from the old city (depending on your pace). You have to pay for WiFi but it was nice not having immediate access to the internet for a couple of days. The hotel is also very clean and well taken care of, the staff is amazing!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy walk to everything."
Went with my parents who are in their late 60's and were okay with the walking. The hotel is right next to the plains of Abraham and right oustside the old city of Quebec. We ate at a restaurant on Grand Allée and wasn't disappointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
An excellent hotel choice if you are looking to visit Old Quebec. Very comfortable, modern, helpful staff, and a reasonable room rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to everything"
Overall and excellent place to stay. Close to everything but away from the noisy streets. Access to wifi was $15/day and the connection only allowed one device to be connected at a time - a real pain when a family of four all have smartphones! There were two weddings on during our stay and the lobby area smelled of cigarette smoke the morning after […] both - yuck. Other tan that, I would recommend this hotel - excellent location and great price! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is located very close to Old Quebec and Parliament building. Lots of restaurants around the hotel. The staff spoke in English and was very helpful. I was little disappointed for $15 per day charge for the internet. Overall a great stay and wonderful experience in Quebec.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great Place! Would not hesitate to stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Once we checked in -- everyone was friendly, however our room was not ready, so we had to wait a few hours. We checked our bags and then explored Quebece City. When we finally came back to check and went our room -- it was old and dingy. I called the front desk and requested a new room and said this was not the room I paid for or what was advertised. […] They said there was only one other room available for that night and that room was similar to the room we were in - we had to spend the night in our current room, then they would transfer us to a new room in the morning. When the morning came -- we went to the front desk and they kept their word and transferred us to the newer part of the hotel and upgraded us to a better room. The Concierge, Julie, was great. She recommended some amazing local breakfast spots and made our dinner reservations as well. I would defintely stay at Hotel Chateau Laurier again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in a great location"
This is a very large, clean and very comfortable hotel. Our room was very spacious and spotless, as was the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the amenities (pool, gym, and spa) were more than adequate. The parking garage is conveniently located below the hotel with easy in and out access. The hotel is in an excellent location, only about […] a five minute walk to the walls of old Quebec, adjacent to the Plains of Abraham, and in proximity to multiple restaurants on Grand Allee. "Best hotel for the Winter Carnival"
Love this hotel. My girlfriend and I come back every year for the Winter Carnival. It has the best location.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Chateau Laurier is just outside the wall of Old Quebec. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel and the main celebration was right out front! The concierge is very helpful for making dinner reservations, directions, suggestions of what to see or do. There is a shuttle that stops nearby if the walking gets to be too much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
While the hotel is not located in old town it is close and conveniently located in walking distance to a lot of the tourist attractions, shopping, etc. It was very clean and the staff were wonderful. Highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
sooooooo good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was great at the Chateau Laurier. Everything was good with the exception of the TV. We were unable to get it to function properly, but forgot about telling the staff because we really didn't need the TV in beautiful Quebec City.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect in almost every way."
Taking the advice of a Canadian friend proved to be a real plus. The hotel Chateau Laurier is very easy to get to after crossing the St. Lawrence Seaway and could not have been in a better place to enjoy Vieux Quebec. The rooms and facilities were clean and modern and the location was a short walk from the city gates on the Plains of Abraham. When we […] arrived, we had the valet park our vehicle and never retrieved it until our departure 2 days later. Everything was within walking distance. We will be certain to stay there again and would highly recommend it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to make your base in Quebec City!"
The room was clean and nice. Pleased to have two queen beds and the room was large enough for them. Plenty of good towels in the bathroom. Location was best to explore Quebec City right near the Citadel and Parliament and it was very easy to drive our car right to their own underground parking garage. We didn't use our car again until it was time to […] go home. Many good restaurants right out the door and Starbucks is across the street with free wifi. Everyone spoke English well. Wish we had time for the spa but there are too many things to do in the city. The swimming pool is very small. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location on Parliament Hill"
We had a 2 queen superior room, which was modern, comfortable and on the "quiet" side of the hotel facing the plains of abraham. An easy walk to the citadel and old QC. We would definitely stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sleepless in Quebec City"
We were not expecting the interior of the hotel and the rooms to be so dilapidated. The exterior of the hotel and the lobby are nice but that's about it. The hallways and the rooms themselves were very damp and haven't been updated in a while. There was an odd musty odour in the rooms which gave the impression that they weren't clean. The plumbing situation […] at this hotel is terrible. Every morning we were awaken very early by the very loud noises that the pipes make whenever anyone in the rooms around us used their washrooms. To make it worse our rooms overlooked what appeared to be large exhaust fans, probably from the restaurant, that are loud and work non-stop throughout the day and night. We complained to the staff about it and asked to be moved but they could not help us. The staff was otherwise very nice and friendly which, along with the very convenient location, are the only redeemable things about this hotel. Breakfast, internet and parking are not included in the rate; considering the price and the experience we had with loud plumbing and exhaust fans, I don't think it's worth it. Next time I'll spend a little more and stay at a nicer hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Everything we wanted + as our base in Quebec City"
The location of the hotel was perfect for those wanting to explore the old city. We were within walking distance of everything on our city agenda. Parking for hotel guests was convenient (under the building), clean and safe. The staff was very hospitable and could converse equally as well in either French or English. We would certainly return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Charming hotel with relaxing surroundings"
Very lovely atmosphere, good location, convenient walking distance to all of Quebec City. Amenities very pleasing, only had a small problem with the airconditioning on two of the days not cooling correctly; maintenance attempted a fix, but still not corrected, by next morning it was working.Genuine Expedia guest review

Service was excellent. We could have used extra pillows in the room. I found the room safe in the bedside table the morning we checked out. "Great Place and City to Visit."
We stayed for two nights after completing a cruise from New York City. Initially we took an upgraded room in the new section which was supposed to be a bit smaller but new and with a view. On entry we discovered we should have stayed with our original room. The new one had but one small window thus little light. There was no view and the Queen size […] bed we had originally booked seemed rather small. The front desk was contacted and they quickly changed us to a much larger room with regular Queen size beds, a large window overlooking the park, and full of light. Our stay was great. Nice room, nice service, and friendly welcoming employees every time we had contact with them. The location was excellent being just outside a gate to the Old Town and close to the parliament buildings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Given a room that was unsuitable for a couple. No space to hang any clothes, noisy and very small and the end of the bed almost touched the wall of the bathroom, certainly not one expects of four star hotel. Nice hotel . Amazing location . Poor roomsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the experience was great, I didn't like the fact they tried to give me a room that I wouldn't give $100,00 for a night I had to pay $ 30 extra to have a decent room. $260,00 for a room with nothing extra to it is a bit expensiveGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The mini fridge was useless but other than that the location was extremely close to the mainstreet of Old Quebec which made it an easy and confortable walking distance to everything. The carpet could use and update also the fan wasnt very strong, it was like it wasnt even working. Other than that it was a great trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Was too expensive for the experience"
The location is perfect close to everything, you can walk. Great restaurants close by and the Citadel is next to the hotel so location is perfect. I paid about 200 a night then $24.00 for parking so with taxes it is going to be 260.00. Rooms are very small typical European size. The beds were very hard I found.
