The hotel in itself is really clean and is well located. It is great for business since Parliament, restaurants and bars are real close by. Rooms on the other hand are something else. The good: Amazing location just a 2 minute walk from the Old City gates. Tons of excellent quality restaurants of all price ranges just around the corner. Some rooms have great views of the river and old Quebec. Our suite that we upgraded to on the second night was fantastic - huge jacuzzi tub with glass doors that opened up into the room that had a […] fireplace beside windows overlooking the city. Very clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Definitely worth paying extra money for the upgraded rooms. The bad: Out first night of 4 was spent in a regular priced standard room that was quite small with nothing fancy about it at all. Still very clean but the bed was a bit hard. Again... Worth upgrading! That's it for the bad. The location is splendid. We spent NYE there and there was a massive outdoor party with two free concerts on either side of the hotel. All and all, it was a good hotel at a decent price for the location. Close to everything one needs when wanting to walk to all the great places to visit in old Québec city. My only concern was the cleanliness of the comforters and sheets as there were questionable spots everywhere.

We would have liked our garbage emptied every day. Our door was left open all day by the maid and the pictures viewed on the Internet of the room did not match the room we received. On a positive note, the hotel is centrally located and walking distance to all the attractions in beautiful Vieux Québec.

I would not rate the room I had (283) as a four start room. Take away the size of the room, the wallpaper seams show that it is time for an upgrade. More electrical outlets would have been great - very difficult to reach and did not make sense with the layout of furniture. I had to rearrange the plugs by the TV to plug in my cell phone and move the […] bed in order to plug in a heating pad. Also, the remote for the TV is awkward to use when in bed because the sensor to change the channels is too low on the TV stand. The proximity to Carnival was unmatched and it made taking 2 young children extremely easy. We could come and go allowing us to spend the most amount of time enjoying Carnival, the snow and cold without worrying that we still a long trip back to the warmth and comfort of a hotel room.

This hotel is a combination of old and new buildings. For the same money, the rooms are of unequal size, and a night for a basic, one-queen-size-bed room is not worth the high price paid for it. Located right outside the wall of Old Quebec, so you are as close as possible without actually having to stay right in Old Quebec. It is at the end of a street filled with restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Chateau Laurier. It was close to restaurants and just a three minute walk to the Old Quebec gates. The room was spacious and clean. We really enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs. Old Quebec City has a very romantic feel to it, and your trip won't be complete until you go on a horse-drawn carriage ride through Old Quebec […] city. Make sure that you upgrade to the new wing which is recently added to the hotel. The restaurant attached to the hotel is overpriced and offers medium quality food. There are nice pastry shops on St. Jean street.

Rates were reasonable and despite music festival going on right outside the hotel, we did not hear it in our room. Pool was nice and well maintained. Parking costs were additional.
