I booked this hotel for my mother and her brothers for a short family get together while visiting their sister in Jax Beach. They all said it was clean and nice--esp loved the breakfast, could not believe it had so much variety of diff foods and they said it was delicious! Only dissatisfied thing is that when I made the reservation, they said the room had two doubles and a sofa bed, but found out when they checked in the hotel had no such thing--so kind of squished with 3 grown people in one room. But overall they enjoyed the trip and would stay there again.

I am easy to please. A bed, and a fridge, and a microwave so I have the freedom to hold my own food if I'd like. Not like I'm in prison. The free breakfast buffet was great. I was surprised at the quality of the food.

Flew down to Jax for a wedding. Decided to stay on the Beach. I had a King Oceanfront, put My Mom and sister in an Queen double Oceanfront. Location is perfect, loved sitting with family around the fire pit at night. The rooms and beds quite comfortable. View from balcony fantastic! Only thing missing was room service. Can't wait to come back.

"Nice place to stay"
We stopped for 1 night to make a long trip easier, and it was clean, the staff was friendly, and we would stay here again. It was easy to get to from I-95.

Pleasant staff. Good location. Clean and comfortable. Not so sure about the neighborhood. Concerned about parking in back of hotel. Lots of light but still a bit scary.

Very convenient to airport and very good restaurants within easy walking distance. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Staff friendly and helpful in every way. Would definitely stay there again any time we are in the area.

"Would Not Recommend"
If you must stay, do NOT stay in Room 316 unless you like looking at a concrete wall and a dumpster from your window. When we checked in, the room was clean. But when they were supposed to have cleaned it the next day while we were out, the floor hadn't been vacuumed and the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned. They didn't even re-stock the coffee and […] creamer. I called the front desk to let them know and they did graciously offered to send someone up, but after being out all day, I did not want to be bothered with someone vacuuming while I was there. "Convenient to the airport"
Had a great experience with this hotel. Would use this hotel again. Promptly shuttled to/from the airport. Desk staff very pleasant. Breakfast was good and the breakfast area was kept clean and neat. Bed was not the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, but was adequate.

We were satisfied with the hotel in everyway except the pillows were terrible. Recommend you bring your own.

Stayed here recently for a weekend and all was fine. It's pretty much what I had expected for the price. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. When they saw us looking at menus in the lobby they offered us a nice suggestion for dinner. We went there and had a nice meal. The room was okay. Very comfortable! But a few stains on the carpet and […] furniture, which grosses me out. Oh, and free HBO which is fantastic. The other hotel guests were also pretty friendly and that was nice. People say hello and good morning, etc. The breakfast was standard hotel continental, with waffles and bacon/sausage. Nothing good or bad here, just is what it is. We did not use the pool or fitness center so I can't comment on those areas, Let me say, LOTS OF KIDS running around here and of course this is why I don't really frequent hotel pools. There were children running in and out of the elevators and through the halls, soaking, dripping wet and coming from the pool. This is obviously of the parents control and not the hotel, needless to say, it's annoying and dangerous to leave wet puddles through out the hotel. If you want a quiet, romantic weekend or are a clean freak/germphobe who can't handle stains, I would find someplace else. If you're on a budget and need someplace by the airport that is comfortable and has food/shopping nearby, Wyngate will do just fine. Read more

We stayed at the Wingate before and after a cruise. When trying checking in both times, 2/26/12 and 3/3/12 the same very unfriendly and unhelpful desk clerk was working. She made us feel unwelcome to the point where we went next door to the the next hotel. If we had not had the no cancellation clause, we would have moved to the other hotel! This is a great, basic hotel - clean, hot breakfast, indoor/outdoor pool. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Right off the interstate and minutes away from many Jacksonville attractions. Would stay there again!
"Convenient to airport"
This was my 2nd stay at this hotel after a cruise. The hotel desk clerk on duty in the morning was incredibly rude. If I couldn't have checked into another hotel I would have. The only saving grace was the clerks who were on duty later in the day were amazing and totally made up for the morning clerk. Rooms were fine, bed was comfy. "Convenient to airport"
We used this hotel overnight after our cruise came in. when we arrived in the morning we asked the front desk clerk if we could leave our luggage in a secured room since our room wasn't ready. This clerk was quite rude and offered no help at all. We ended up taking our bags to the hotel next door where the very friendly clerk graciously let us keep […] our bags in her back room. When we finally checked in later in the day, the same desk clerk was there and she again was very aloof. Never told us anythign about the complimentary breakfast, or the shuttle, or the pool. She didn't even bother to tell us where our room was located. I do want to commend the evening staff who were GREAT! 5 stars go to them - outstanding! This hotel was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. Very clean and the room was very nice and big. Will definetly stay at this hotel and other wingates again.

My 2nd stay @ Windam-JAX and like the 1st time, this hotel did everything right. The room is very well kept and the facility is very well cared for. The staff were both friendly and accomodating. I'll always go back here when in JAX.

This is our second time staying at the hotel. It is close to the airport, shopping and restaurants. We chose the hotel because of the indoor/outdoor pool. The pool was closed for two days due to a problem beyond their control. This caused a minor problem for us since we invited family members to come visit. Also the water had to be shut off one afternoon, […] again beyond the hotels control. After returning from a day at the zoo it was disturbing not to have water to be able to use the bathroom. Stayed at Microtel Inn and Suites Atlanta Stockbridge Eagles Landing and looks can be deceiving. The hotel looks decent from the outside but the inside reveals age, low cleaning standards and poor service. We requested housekeeping during our 4-5 night stay & she took the dirty linen but would never leave new clean linen or make the beds. Plus the […] spreads had grease, body fluids or some type of stains on them, never used them. THe room had lots of hair on the bathroom floor. Just poor standards and the hotel decor was old. The check in clerk was very friendly. I was originally assigned a 3rd floor unit but when she found out I was claustrophic, she immediately assigned me a first floor unit. I did not request the first floor room. I merely asked her where the stairs were and that I did not use elevators. Many times I have stayed in hotels and requested lower levels because […] of my condition and most clerks are unaccomodating. The staff was great and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. They offered to take us anywhere closeby that we wanted to go and suggested wonderful places to eat and see. We had stayed at the Wingate before and knew it to be a clean and comfortable room in the right location for us. Very near the airport and also situated near a wide variety of restaurant and retail choices, it fulfilled our needs for a two day stay in JAX. Breakfast is included, making it a good value as well.

I stayed in this Hotel for a period of 4 days, since I was moving from Jacksonville, FL to Puerto Rico and I had to stay near the Airport. Shuttle: Quick, available for 3 mile radius, […] which helped me do a bit of groceries at Walmart for Lunch and Dinner, since my Car was shipped to PR. Personel: Very Profesional, nice attire, educated, polite and able and willing to assist without expeting a tip and complement. Facility: Neat, Nice smell, Up with designing. Cons: Business Center did not have PC's up to date, no ink on printers, but it was notifies 3 times, bbut nothing happened. "Excellent location for late night arrival."
Relaxing time before continuing on our final leg of our journey. Slept in ate breakfast went back to rest then went for a swim in the pool.

I only picked this hotel because it was close to the airport and the major highways. Breakfast was so-so. Didn't care for dry sausage patties or powdered scrambled eggs. There were wildfires on the FL/GA border and you could smell the smoke when you walked out of the hotel, but that's not the fault of the hotel.

"Comfortable Stay"
Stayed 4 nights in Jacksonville while visiting my husband. It was very comfortable and roomy. The pool had a lot of ants floating around but was otherwise clean. It was located in the north part of Jacksonville, but the the interstate made it speedy to get anywhere. LOVED the hotel!!
