Very friendly staff. We liked the hotel and the location. The area around the hotel is what i think of when I think of Paris - artsy, small streets, sidewalk cafes, good restaurants. It was conveninent to Abbesses Metro station (take the elevator if you use this station - over 100 stairs to get to street level) and Blanche. Even though Blanche was located […] on a street with lots of strip joints, the hotel seemed a world away from that. The room was very clean and a lot larger than I expected. Loved the dog that was in the lobby when we left - very playful. I thought it was odd that you had to leave the key at the front desk when you left, although we had no issue with that. Safe in the room. There was a hairdryer that was minimally acceptable to my wife. The tub/shower combination was the largest we had on our trip, but there was no shower curtain, only a small (18") door to catch most of the spray. After the first shower there, I was able to keep the spray on the bathroom floor to a minimum. Towels could have been nicer, but they were acceptable. Breakfast was basic boiled egg, pastries, coffee, cereal, and yogurt. It met our needs, although we did go out for breakfast one day out of the three that were there. Easy walk to the Basicilla of Sacre Coeur. Hotel open 24 hrs, which was not the case of our first choice. We were very happy with our stay. Overall, a very charming place. Very good value for Paris. The hotel was an uphill walk to get to the door, the elevator was literally only big enough for one person and a suitcase, and the room was so small that one of us had to jump on the bed if the other one wanted to walk around it but it was still one of our favorite places! we checked in the hotel which was very close to moulin rouge theatre and easy to locate the area is very nice and safe the tiny parisian streets with cafes and bars of locals no tourists was very nice for a parisian mood the hotel is cute with tiny room and bathroom (as usual for paris hotels) yet had everything you might need the worst part was charles […] at the reception who was beyond rudeness , unprofessionalism & unfriendly 100% we requested a cab the night before our departure to be at the hotel @ 5 am for a 7 am flight the cab was late and didnt show up he refused to call the company except after half an hour and still that taxi didnt show up where we had to call another company who delivered in 10 minutes while he could ve thought of this alone to better serve the clients we had breakfast included in our reservation but we wouldnt catch it as we had to leave at dawn to the airport , when i stepped into the reception i smelled amazing coffee and i asked very politely if i can have some he said NOO which was weired and rude i dont think i'll stay again in hotel des arts as there are better and closer hotels in paris and in this area "montmarte" such as le pic which is located in a main street not a side of a side street while we were getting into the taxi Charles said i see people like you every day in a very cold attitude which was again extremely rude as i never met unprofessional hoteliers as him Read more

I have stayed at the Hotel Des Arts Montmartre several times over the past 5 years. I have been on my own, and with family. Each time I have found the staff very helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. The location is great too. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again in the future.

I would recommend the hotel because of the location and sobriety. The rooms are very tiny, as they say happens in all Paris. It makes sense: the streets are tiny, the tables at bars and restaurants are tiny, people seat so close to each other (to strangers) that they are touching arms or elbows, wine glasses are tiny. The walls are so thin that I heard […] absolutely everything in other rooms, of course especially the pleasure screamings at nights, but also the arguments and TV shows other people were seeing. But, as I say to my relatives, Paris is so beautiful that you forgive almost everything to it. You wake up early and get out as soon as possible (in fact, I have never had breakfast in the hotel, which was included in my rate), and you come back as late as possible at night. Shower was very good, in temperature and strenght, toiletries were very nice, and the staff is superb. The best of all, of course, is Montmartre. You ARE there, close to many very good restaurants and bars even late at night, you are two blocks from two different Metro stations that take you everywhere, and you can have a ten minutes walk to Lafayette Galeries and the Opera and three minutes walk to the Moulin Rouge and Amelie's bar. This is a fabulous place to stay in Paris. Rooms are very small which is typical of rooms in Europe generally so don't expect a lot of space. This place is really pretty cheap and the location is perfect. There is a breakfast mostly of coffee and croissants but it is just right. It is on the hill on Montmartre about three blocks from Moulin Rouge. There […] are small cobblestone streets with not a lot of traffic-but watch out for the scooters-and tons and tons of restaurants.Sacre Coeur is close. There are strip clubs down around Moulin Rouge but it is safe and just stay away from there except for the Moulin Rouge. The area just a few blocks away starting at the hotel and extending up to Sacre Coeur is fine. There is a hop-on hop off bus that stops just across from the Moulin Rouge-buy the three day pass with the Batobus Seine River option and you can hop on and hop off the bus or the boat and it is pretty cheap for each day. There are four routes for the bus that interconnect and you can get to everything. You can even walk about ten blocks to the green line-which is the best line with stops at Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower-and skip the ride around the yellow line in you want. I never took a taxi or the metro. I did a shuttle to Versailles but otherwise took the hop-on hop-off bus or boat and walked. Study the stops and hit the attractions within six blocks in any direction of each stop and then get back on. Read more

We stayed for two nights and had the fastest check-in and check-out that I ever had. No hassles. The room was small (expected) but very clean. The furniture, bedding and fixtures were newer (not old and worn). The bed was softer than we like (we like the harder beds often found in Europe). No view to speak of, but none was expected. We stayed at the […] end of August and it wasn't hot, but....if it would be hot there was no control for the a/c, only controls for the heat radiators. Breakfast was simple (included in our price) and consisted of bread, rolls, cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit cocktail, some cheese slices and hard-boiled eggs. Great for us, maybe not for others. Breakfast room was small and could become crowded but not a problem for us. Free Wi-Fi available was a great plus for us. I have a bad hip and am having hip replacement surgery in July. I was given a room on the 6th floor. I asked if there was a lift and the desk clerk said yes but did not mention that it didn't go to the 6th floor. After I discovered that I would have to negotiate a narrow curving staircase to the 6th floor, I went back to the desk and was told the hotel was full and they couldn't change me. The clerk did bring my suitcase up to my room. They were able to change my room the next day. If i had known, I could have requested a room on one of the first 5 floors. It's a cute hotel but you need to know if there's a lift to all floors. Read more

It was very easy to get to by metro and as a solo female traveler I felt safe walking around the area at night. I asked the hotel to book a taxi to take me to the train station. The meter started at 15 euros! And ended up costing me 40 euros. Ridiculous! My friend took the airport shuttle and the hotel asked her to pay the hotel 7 euros as a service fee and then 21 euros to the shuttle driver. It is in a good location in Montmartre, steps away from great shops, Restaurants, Sacre Cour, and a few blocks away from the metro. If you are looking for an unpretensious hotel with charm that won't break the bank, this is for you. It is a […] small, compact hotel, with a nice sitting room off the lobby. The rooms are quite small, but fairly nicely appointed with wall mounted plasma TV's. The double bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. (1st floor) The bathroom was adequate, but definitely only a one person at a time size, and did not have an electrical outlet that we could find. Large people may not be comforable in that bathroom. What really makes this place exceptional is the staff. They were all helpful, approachable, and readily available. When we came in from a day's adventure, we got a warm greeting which made this place very welcoming and comfortable. For example, as we were checking out, we realized we had locked our luggage key in our luggage and were anxious to leave for our next destination. A very nice young lady at the front desk asked her colleagues if they could help, and within minutes, a lady from the food service area came up and used a letter openner or knife to flip the locks for us with a big smile. Needless to say, we were extremely relieved and very glad to have chosen Hotel des Arts for part of our stay in Paris. Oh, and the breakfast is great too! Read more
