"Nice, quiet neighborhood."
This was a wonderful hotel in Venice. It is situated in a residential area away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. Easy walking distance to San Marco plaza, but a nice place to head back to when you need a break from the crowds. Staff is wonderful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stay was great, but short. Second stop past plaza, with nice walk if you didn't wish to take water taxi. In Italian neiborhood away from tourist area. Great breakfast in am. Would definitely recommend. Nice little park nearby for out son.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff of the hotel were friendly, but the location of the hotel was a littlebit far from san marcoGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would be perfect if A/C had been on."
This is a great hotel. Unfortunately I was there 1 week before the A/C was turned on and it was a bit muggy, that's the only thing that brought down the rating from excellent. The staff was incredible, some of the most helpful I found in all of Italy. The location is outside of Venice in a nice area with trees and locals. Being outside of the main city […] is no problem though - the vaporrato stop is right there and the walk to the center of the city is lovely and only takes about 15 minutes. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, breakfast was good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was great. Breakfast was great. Location next to water "bus" pickup was perfect. Very good rooms and service. Wi Fi worked well. No complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One of the best hotels"
everything was very beautiful, the rooms, the hotel design, and the environment around the hotel. The staff were very helpful. The only problem was internet speed which was too slow. I highly recommend this hotel, and has planned to stay in this hotel next time I am going to travel back to Venice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A quiet escape in tourist-filled Venice"
Peaceful hotel, slightly out of the way in S'ant Elena. Easily reached from the train station by waterbus and a nice 20 minute walk along the water to the city center. The area is lacking in nightlife and restaurants, but the surrounding park is nice for daytime people-watching or lounging prior to trekking around bridge-filled Venice. Some interesting […] modern artwork throughout the hotel, though it looks out of place in a converted monastery. Helpful staff and a decent breakfast...not the best during my stay in Italy, but certainly sufficient to start a day of sightseeing. Wifi free and easy, but definitely on the slow side - had some trouble finding outlets in the room and had to snake my laptop cable from the washroom. Overall a great value for the price in Venice! "First visit to Venice"
The hotel was a few feet from the motorboat (bus stop) which goes to different parts of Venice. The service was great and we enjoyed the breakfast. "Great hotel, wonderful staff"
We are in Europe for 5 weeks, so have stayed in a number of hotels, mostly in Italy but also Finland, Denmark & Singapore. This is the best hotel we have stayed in so far, because of (1) staff courtesy & helpfulness, (2) hotel room & facilities & (3) location. We usually like to stay in local hotels in the centre, but would definately stay at the BW […] Venice hotel again. Please pass on our appreciation to the staff. "Nice hotel in quiet location"
Myself and wife stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The breakfast was nice as was the room. For me the location was a little isolated. My wife was nervous walking after dark from the town centre to the hotel. This was for no real reason but defiantly a consideration. The walk was about 20 mins with step bridges on the route. You could catch the […] boat ferry from the centre of Venice to the terminal local to the hotel. The hotel restaurant was expensive with small food portions and I'm not a big eater. Venice is generally expensive though Hotel 4 out of 5, location 3 out of 5 for me :-D Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel... Quiet Location"
Located at the very end of the Castello area of Venice this hotel is away from the main tourist hot spots. It is about a 30 minute walk along the waterfront from the hotel to St Marco's Square. There is a water bus station a stones throw away from the hotel were all the major buses stop at. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area that has a […] café, pharmacy and small sweet shop. Restaurants and bars are about a 15 minute walk away. The hotel itself is modern and clean. Our room wasn't the biggest but it was manageable for a three night stop. There's a nice garden with sun lounges and breakfast was excellent. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast - good choice and quality, evening meal quite expensive and limited choice but really tasty. We would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable rooms. Everything you would expect in a nice hotel. Great location, far enough away from the busy crowds but near enough to walk to all the attractions. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel, 20 min walk from St Marks Sq"
Can't really fault the hotel. Excellent breakfast which was fully stocked until it finished at 1100 each morning. We found it best to get up early, go see the sights whilst it was quiet and come back for breakfast at between 1000-1100. Venice in August is a very busy place (no experience of other times of the year) so to avoid the crowds and the heat, […] morning and evening are best. We toured from Rome to Venice and the food was by far the worst in Venice, you are a captive audience, so be prepared to pay over the odds for the sound of the microwave ding! We gave up and bought from a supermarket and watched the sunset from a bench on the front near the hotel with a bottle of wine, stunning! The supermarkets do sell out, so you are advised to buy early and keep it cool with free ice from the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Wonderful stay, walking distance to main attractions. The hotel room was spacious and clean. Breakfast had an excellent selection and dinner was good too. Will definately recommend to friends and family and will stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved the hotel, everything was just perfect and couldn't be any better than that. We stayed there for a family holiday for 5 days in July, staff were kind and helpful, the breakfast was fantastic and I think was even better than some 5 star hotels that I have been to. The hotel is located almost at the far side of the Venice in a beautiful peaceful […] and quite neighbourhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, it is a 20 minutes walk to the St Mark or 5 minute on Vaporreti (water bus). There can be no complain about cleanliness and comfort of the room. If you like to use the sandy beach of the Lido island it is only a few minutes away by the water bus. this hotel is tucked away from the crowds and there are a lot of crowds in venice its a busy place. this hotel is 3 min walk from the water bus stop st elena.however if you are coming from the airport you have 2 choices first choice is you buy a waterbus return ticket from the airport 27 euros return its quite along way so not bad value. and you get […] off at arsenal and walk 12 to 15 mins to hotel about 4 stops. or you can get off at lido and buy a further ticket for 7 euros and take 1 stop to st elena. we got off at arsenal and walked and save buying another ticket.great hotel nice and clean great breakfast but when you are in venice you are best to buy a 3 day water bus pass for all the stops this ticket is separate from the airport ticket.you can catch the waterbus back to the hotel rather than walk this hotel is a good tidy walk from town so these passes are a must in my opinion.most staff are friendly and nice a few arragont ones little un helpful but in Italy they are a bit rude in places.i would recommend this hotel but but your passes that you would more than likely buy anyway.shame there is no spa on site but nice loungers to lay down on in the garden. "Smallest room for most money!"
The good news about the hotel is that it is very very quiet. No cars! Also it's a nice old building well refurbished. It's a 20 minute hike or water bus into the main part. The breakfast is great. The dinner was great (but they had a half empty dining room and kept turning guests away saying it was fully booked, but no one came and it was a thunderstorm […] and deluge outside, and you have very few local options). As a single traveller I was still shocked by the small size of the room 308 (a small pie shape where you really could only sit on the single bed) It was in places probably 6 metres high. I tried to change the room but that was met with indifference. The bathroom was nice but I had to deal with a silverfish that was trying to get out of the bathtub. I wouldn't stay there again if that was the only room option. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Best Western Premier Hotel Sant'Elena Dear Guest , I sincerely regret your experience at our BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel Sant’Elena did not completely satisfy your expectations. First of all, I would like to emphasize we did not keep away our guests from the restaurant, but simply others had booked it before, so we respected the reservations. Secondly, it is important remembering our hotel was an ancient convent , so we have the possibility to lodge our guests in room types very different each other, larger or smaller, having obviously different prices. For this reason, I invite you to visit us once more to make you experience the various types of accommodation we have and to make you live a new enjoyable stay. Thank you for choosing our home for your holiday in Venice and we all hope to see you soon. Best regards, Paola D'Errigo Customer Care Supervisor BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel Sant’Elena
"Great hotel well located"
We had a fantastic stay in Sant'Elena. Lovely quiet location yet only 15 to 20 minute stroll along the canal to St Marks square or the water bus stop is only a few minutes walk from the hotel door. We stayed as a 70th Birthday treat for my mum,but I would take my children there on my next visit as nearby there is a park with a football court, tennis, […] basketball courts plus play park. Plus only one stop to Lido which has a good beach. Hotel lovely clean, helpful staff and a great breakfast. Rooms have everything to make your stay relaxed. Hotel also has a lovely garden. "Not the best"
Although the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, I found this hotel to be over priced for the room compared to other hotels we stayed at in the region (including in Venice CBD itself). The location is out of the way, the surrounding suburbs are quiet with no activity. The room was cramped...very cramped. I paid less for a 4 star hotel in the […] middle of Venice CBD for less and had a lot more room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Best Western Premier Hotel Sant'Elena Dear Guest, Thanks for leaving a review on Hotels.com. The opinions of our guests are very important for us. First of all, I am very happy to read you appreciated the helpfulness and friendliness of our staff, without doubt they are our greatest strength. On the contrary, I am sorry you did not like the location where we are. The Sant’Elena, indeed, is immersed in a beautiful green area away from the crowd of the downtown but near the Biennale and only at a pleasant half hour walk from St. Mark’s square (or 5 minutes with the water bus). At the end, it is important for me remembering that our hotel was an ancient convent , so we have the possibility to lodge our guests in room types very different each other, larger or smaller, having obviously different prices. We are glad you stayed at our hotel during your holiday in Venice and we are looking forward for your next visit to the Venetian Lagoon. "What a wonderful place."
This hotel is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Venice, but still less than ten minutes travel on the vaporetto! Two minutes walk from the S' Elana 'bus' stop. We stayed with two other couples, and everyone commented how wonderful the location, rooms, and staff were. Our room was one of the ground floor ones that opened out directly […] onto the small garden courtyard. It was well furnished, plenty of wardrobe and storage space, bathroom was a good size and the shower was easy to use! The bed was very comfy (king size). All of the staff were very helpful and polite. The bar manager Francesco was very helpful, answering questions about ' out of the way' places in Venice and how to get there. And he makes a good cocktail! The WiFi was very good with fast connection, and a simple password. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but this was fresh, plentiful and had a good selection. Not only the usual continental lay out, but scrambled eggs, bacon, and small sausages. The dining room is roomy and its easy to get around the tables. We had a wonderful four day stay and will certainly use this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Chose this hotel on location to vapretto stop [2 minutes walk away] and price range. Very pleased with the all aspects of the stay Staff very helpful and knowledgable. Breakfast and free afternoon tea [no-one seemed to know about this as we were the only ones partaking] were both good on choice and the staff very obliging of special requests eg coffee […] choices, hot pastries etc. Hotel was very quiet no doors banging lifts pinging etc and we were suprised to see how many were in the hotel at breakfast. "Romantic weekend in Venice"
Just back from a romantic 3 night stay, our first trip to Venice. Hotel was easy to find and ideally located we felt. Near enough to boat or walk to main tourist area but far enough to be quiet and bit more of a 'locals' area. We had a junior suite, ok size for 2. The room was decorated well, very clean and despite reviews I had read before was of good […] standard. Staff were helpful although we had no major issues we needed their help with. Buffet breakfast was good, lots of yummy pastries and food was restocked well. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant Saturday night, dressed up but were only ones lol! The good was very yum but we both felt there wasn't alot of choice on the menu and bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. 2courses each, bottle of prosseco and bottle water was 80euros. Non hotel related, would advise others to buy a public travel card at the airport when you land as this means you can hop on and off public boat and buses, 7 days only cost 50euro each unless your feeling flushed then the other option is private taxi boats when charge alot. Get a gondola early in the day too so it's nice and relaxed. Sundays seem to be open for tourists and restaurants as normal so don't worry but nothing in general really starts til 10am. We would def come back to Venice and Sant' Elena Best Western too. Thanks for a lovely break. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
