My girlfriend and I decided to stay at the Observatory as it was slightly away from the city centre and also as it was one of the Orient Express hotels. We were certainly not disappointed, from the minute we walked into the hotel to the moment we left 7 days later everything was as it should be. The rooms were spacious, the staff attentive without being overbearing and the breakfasts were superb. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will be staying here the next time we go to Sydney.

The Observatory Hotel was outstanding. The service was wonderful, the room was beautiful, the concierge desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had a lovely tea, which is served daily, although requires a reservation fairly considerably in advance. Our only complaint was that the hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays and was completely booked for the other days of our stay. Absolutely worth the money.

We enjoyed the Observatory - the service was high octane - and where we are more do it yourself type travelers, we were pleased with the attentiveness of the staff. The concierges were very helpful in general, though the day of our checkout we returned to get our bags from the cloakroom and were soaked from the rainy day - we asked if we could quickly change before our flight and were offered the cloakroom as a matter of ease. We are no fuss, and did not want to take all our bags to the spa, so we changed there, but we commented that if we were in our 40s instead of our 30s, the concierge would NEVER have offered to have us change in a luggage storage room. That was the least classy of of our overall good experience. Great location, great room (though we'd have liked a better view than the tennis courts). Overall, I would recommend the hotel for older travelers, younger people may like less fuss.

out of value="5""Underbar lyxavslutning på Australien-vistelsen"
Reviewed by Å of Lund on Jan 13, 2009
