Le Saint-Pierre, Auberge Distinctive - Quebec

This is a quaint hotel with European/French charm. The staff was so helpful and pleasant. Our room was very clean and was a good value including a full breakfast and high-speed internet. The location was great. We highly recommend Le Saint-Pierre.

We enjoyed our stay at Auberge Saint Pierre very much. It offered the old world charm we were hoping for, but with the conveniences of an up-to-date hotel. The room was comfortable, smal, but cozy. The hotel is old (metal keys to the rooms!) but has been modernized. There were some quirks; we had to ask the staff how to work the air conditioning. The staff were excellent, and went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town of Quebec, literally across the street from the Museum of Civilization.

The Auberge Saint Pierre was perfectly located in a quiet and quaint section of Basse-ville or, the Lower Town of Quebec but was within walking distance to the more socially robust Upper Town. It is also just a few short blocks away from the Old Port Market where local and regional products are sold (from fruits and vegetables to cheese to wine/micro […] brews to maple syrup to linens to pastries and beyond). Also withi walking distance was the free outdoor showing of Cirque du Soleil. The included breakfast at the Auberge Saint Pierre was scrumptious and filling. All of our questions and concerns were answered by the kind and pleasantly helpful concierge. We will revisit this hotel again and again. Read more

European hotel, staff is friendly, helpful, and very professional. This building was used as a bank in the 1800's and most of the woodwork is original. This was our first visit to Quebec City and this hotel was a perfect location in the lower city to walk from. We stayed in a small suite which worked really well for a get away with our grown children. The breakfast was included and was exceptional! The staff were friendly and wonderfully helpful; we would definitely return to this hotel.

We were a bit concerned when the taxi pulled up and the edifice was under construction. Our concern turned to positive surprise. The hotel was clean, reasonably up to date, very clean and very comfortable. We found the staff (concierge, desk staff, breakfast meal staff) to be friendly, attentive and responsive. The hotel has a great location in lower town, close to shops, restaurants and the water. The hotel is very nice, staff are very attentive and helpful, breakfast is very good, cooked to order. We stayed here for two night and it was nothing but charming. This is exactly the kind of place one would expect to find in a beautiful quant city like Quebec, it went so well with the Quebec's atmosphere of old world charm. Our room on the top, 4th floor was beautifully decorated and very clean, even if on the small side. The bathroom is great: small, […] cramped hotel bathrooms with no space to place my toiletries is one of my biggest pet-peeves. Here it was spacious, with ample shelves for all my beauty products, and some room left over for my husband's shaving cream and toothbrush :). The bed was very comfortable: not too soft, not too hard. We did have a small problem with our radiator which are manually operated. Upon informing the front desk we went for a walk around town and when we came back everything was fixed. So, definitely high score for maintenance. Breakfast was served in a lovely room on the ground floor and is cooked to order, with a waitress who takes your order and brings the food to your table, rather than buffet style as we thought it would be, and as it is customary in American hotels during breakfast. I had crepes and they were great. My husband had Eggs Benedict and said that it was just OK the first morning (might be because we showed up 10 minutes before the end of service) and good the second morning. The location of the place is ideal: on a quite street, less than 10 minutes walk from the Funicular, about a 7 minute taxi ride from the VIA Rail station and across the street from Museum of Civilization. Check in was more friendly than expected, and since it was my 1st time in Quebec the Concierge explained to me places to eat and see. It was wonderful. Breakfast was inc. and the waiters were very friendly. Maintenance was a little lacking. The basin spout was loose and the toilet dripped all night. When our Quebecois taxi driver commented what a great area we were in, I knew we had a great choice of hotel. The Auberge St. Pierre is only two blocks from the St. Lawrence River, yet is only steps away from the Lower Town shopping/restaurants & the funiculaire. If you are looking for a hotel that is close to everything, yet in a quiet, uncongested neighboorhood in Basse-Ville (Lower Town) , then this is the place for you.
