Overall the hotel was ok...clean, the area is quite and safe; close to the sights. The only thing I found wrong was the bed.....it was to hard, like sleeping on the floor. I would stay again only if the beds are softer.

I often pass through Barcelona and have made Hesperia Carlit my regular hotel. The staff is always friendly and has gone out of their way to be helpful. I like being in a neighborhood within walking or metro distance of everything with small cafes and bars where you can quickly feel like a local.

I chose this hotel because of the fair price in view of the recent refurbishments and proximity to many key places in Barcelona. After checking in and going to our room we realized that the room had not bathtub. My husband went down to see if we can change to a room with a bathtub and was told by an austere looking receptionist that it would be a 10 euro extra per night!!! In general he girl receptionists were just plain rude. Not only they would not greet you but they would […] ignore you as if on purpose! They had to buzz the entrance door open but instead would ignore you even when standing right in front of the door trying to get out! On the other hand the guy receptionists on the other hand were very nice and helpful. Whenever we asked them a question they were so eager to find the answer or a solution. The cleaning staff were also very nice and friendly. The hotel is a 2 star hotel and not a 3 or 4 stars that their web sites and Barcelona map promote. And it was funny how their star rating plaque was strategically placed behind a leafy tree where it was not visible at all! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was exceptional and helped us a great deal with lost luggage and directions to the surroundings. Good restaurant recommendations--the Argentinian Restaurant down the street and the Manairo(mich star) close and delicious. We'll go back! The breakfast was good, lots of fresh fruit.

I was disappointed in the rooms - they were clean but were dindgy and not comfortable. There is volume control on the TV which is great to keep the noise down but its set to a volume that's basically inaudable... especially as our room was across from a school so every morning we woke to a hundred children running and screaming outside our window. The bathroom would have been better if there was counterspace to put toiletries but there is none and there is also no electrical outlet in the bathroom except for one for a man's razor. The only plus of this hotel is the staff who were very helpful and pleasant. The location is good for the quieter, less touristy neighborhood of L'Exaimple but wouldn't recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the middle of the action as we were constantly taking taxis into the main part of town for dinner/ activities. Hesperia Carlit in Barcelona was our second hotel stay in ten days having come early and stayed late for a Cruise. The hotel has a nice location, a few blocks from the Metro in a good neighborhood. The evenings get a little noisy with nearby restaurants, etc. but the balcony doors almost completely eliminated it. The bed was the typical "very firm" […] variety we also see on our other Spain and Mexico visits. There was free Wi-Fi available but only in the lobby. There was Ethernet in the rooms, but with only my iPhone, I can't speak to that. The only other issues were the water pressure (4th floor) was so poor that the shower head wouldn't stay on, and there some confusion about the Breakfast. We thought it was included - an unpleasant surprise at the end of the stay. It was nice spread, so we would have eaten more! I was travelling alone so wanted a hotel in a relatively safe area within walking distance of the main sights so I wouldn't have to spend a large amount of my time in Barcelona on public transport. What stood out most of all was how friendly and helpful the staff were! They made my stay much less stressful. The only downside was that the window in my room overlooked the lobby so there was no natural light. However, most of the trip was spent out and about so it didn't really bother me. Nice location, close to metro. You can, however, also reach many attractions simple by foot. Its also very close to the shuttle bus to Girona, which was a huge plus for us, since we had to catch an early morning plane. Service and rooms are overall good as well.

Got […] a room towards the backyard, however even though it was at the 2nd floor, it felt like I was staying in the cellar since the yard is built between floor 2 and 3. First time in Barcelona and found this hotel easy to find, just a short walk from Tetuan metro. Many things were within reasonable walking distance. No tea or coffee making facilities in our room. A very BIG bed in our room, nice. Our room was on the road side which was a little noisy at times. Good value for money and would use again.

Good location to a central Metro line plus within walking distance to Barri Gothic (15-20mins). Not near any major bars and restuarants but its better to walk into the atmosphere of the main centre for that. Room clean and spacious. Had a room out onto the street however traffic was a bit loud in the morning. 3/31～4/2まで滞在しました。問題ありと感じた点は2つ。1つ目は使用した部屋ではWifiの電波が届かず、無線LANが使えませんでした。従業員の方によれば、部屋によっては電波が届かないことがあり、ロビーでなら無線LANが使えるということでした。これについて予約ページに記載する必要があると思います。また、無銭LANについてはユーザ名とパスワードをフロントで発行してもらう必要があります。2つ目ですが、ホテル所有の電動自転車を有料(25€/day)で貸し出していますが、メンテナンス状態がいまいちのため、よくチェーンが外れます。自転車を使用して出かけた先でチェーンが外れると、とても切ない気持ちになります。もちろん自分でチェーンをかけ直すことはできますが、チェーンオイルが手につくとなかなか取れません […] し、手を洗う場所も確保しづらいのであまりお勧めできません。その他の点については特に問題はありませんでした。シングルルームを使用しましたが、部屋は清潔感があり、ベッド、シャワー、テレビ、貴重品ボックス等特に問題なく使用できました。アメニティについては、石鹸、歯ブラシ、スポンジ、女性用の髪をまとめるビニールバッグが置いてあり、フロントに確認したところ髭剃りが出てきました。また、ホテルから数メートルの距離においしいステーキを出してくれるお店があるので、混んでいますが行く価値はありです。また、これはヨーロッパ全体に言えることのような気がしますが、ホテルやレストランなど、人によって言っていることがバラバラなので、おかしいと感じた場合は他の従業員に確認してみることをお勧めします。 Read more

Das Hotel liegt günstig zu den meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten, 10 Gehminuten zur Sagrada Familia, 15 Gehminuten zur Casa Battlo und ca. 30 Gehminuten bis zur Ramblas. Auch sind mehrere U-Bahn Stationen verschiedener Linien leicht erreichbar. Das Zimmer war ein als Einzelzimmer vermietetes Doppelzimmer, wäre aber auch bei doppelter Belegung mehr als ausreichend […] groß gewesen. Der Steinfußboden und der zum Innenhof nicht abgeschlossene Flur waren jedoch (bei Außentemperaturen unter 10°C) etwas kühl. Es liegen jedoch zusätzliche Decken bereit. Die Wände sind sehr dünn, selbst im sechsten Stock kann man bei geschlossenem Fenster Unterhaltungen von der Straße mithören. Auch aus den anderen Zimmern bekommt man einiges mit. Man sollte also entweder einen festen Schlaf haben oder Oropax mitnehmen. Das Personal ist freundlich und bemüht, wirkt bei Fragen aber etwas hilflos. Der Rezeptionist ist nachts gleichzeitig Pförtner, der einem erst die Eingangstür entriegeln muss. Angesichts der Beschaffungskriminalität in Barcelona sehr sinnvoll. Das Frühstück (für acht Euro) habe ich nicht probiert, es gibt jedoch Unmengen an Cafes, bei denen man für ca. zwei Euro frühstücken kann, das nächst direkt neben dem Hotel. Fazit: Für Reisende, die ein zentrales, aber günstiges Hotel suchen, um die Stadt ausgiebig zu erkunden und ihr Zimmer nur zum Schlafen, Duschen und zur Gepäckaufbewahrung brauchen, ein wirklich gutes Hotel. Wer viel Zeit in seinem Hotelzimmer verbringt, sollte sich was anderes suchen. Read more
