This hotel is in need of a long overdue update. From the hotel reception to the bedroom this hotel is tired. The rooms have very thin walls so any noise from other occuptants can be herd. The reception area is cold and uninviting, the smell of smoke is overwelming, as the smoking area is outside the main door entrance. The reception was not cleared leaves and screwed up tissues overnight and the crockery from the wedding reception that was being held the previous evening was not cleared away and this was 11am the next morning??. The staff on reception very miserable not welcoming at all, In fact the only conversation was directions to the room. The bar staff were less helpful, the drinks menu offers Latte coffee when asked for we were told, "its in the other bar" after our evening out on our return we went to the "other bar" to be told. "Its never been on the menu" to their amusement?? Staff were far too busy talking than wanting to serve us. The breakfast is a joke, food was sub standard, bread is wafer thin, cheapest bread I have ever seen in my life. Obviously we will never be visiting again, I only feel sorry for people who stay and get the same experience. One lady unsolicited looked at me and said how disgusting the hotel was. There are many more things we could mention but far too many to note. I hope whoever reads this from the hotel owner to management takes notice but then again you probably already know and of course take the money and run. Cheap does not mean sub standard.

The walls were paper thin and thus I could hear other hotel guests arguing all night long! The hotel was packed with a ex forces convention who did their best to drink all night! The bed was completely uncomfortable and small. Breakfast was sub standard and the gym not up to much.

first of all i tried to change my booking from room only to B&B, but i found the staff very un friendly, except the chef who was on the carvery and the breakfast waiters, the reception staff were grumpy and un helpfull, and as for the cleaning of the room i had a dead spider on the carpet for 2 days, so i disposed of it myself, and my room service plates were left outside for 2 evenings. NOT GOOD.

On arrival to the hotel, the surrounding are lovely but the welcome wasnt. As a young couple we were treated like we were on a dirty weekend by the receptionist who talked down to us. We were handed the keys.. no other information. in 5 minutes we had been to reception twice with problems. also had to pay extra to use swimming pool etc. breakfast served until 9am, no lie in then! no doubt this hotel is for you if you are a mature couple but anyone under 40 stay away as there is no respect for younger people. WATCH OUT FOR THE WONKY BEDS - WE BOOKED SUPERIOR ROOM - TIP - NO DIFFEREENCE!!

proberly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the pics on the web site are the ones you would like to see, but when you arrive and see your actual sleeping accommodations its a different matter. The hotel is very run down and is in need of a refurb asasp. The rooms are tatty and dont smell too good. with draps torn and curtains hanging on string, broken chairs and tables, not to mention the bed??? has to be the most unconfortable bed that I have ever not slept in. got about 3 hours sleep in 2 days. Breakfast was ok but again most items not clean.

Have stayed in many hotels this looked ok on the web site.Only 1 helpful young lady at reception .Unforetunately this is a hotel in need of some attention in my opinion considering it has been revamped. We had a so called executive room i think not. This room was quiet though at night so was able to sleep between the noises coming from other guests.Breakfast was good lots of choice and help yourself.Did not eat in in the evening so don't know but there was a few complaints from other guests when we checked out. Will not return

The staff were extremely rude. the whole hotel is in need of some major refurbishment, and our room was filthy. Housekeeping walked into our room at 9am whilst we were getting dressed and wanted to know how long we were likely to be because she wanted to clean our room - even though we did not have to check out til 11am. The bathroom was in such a state that we decided it would be safer not to have a shower. We were then refused the breakfast that we paid for, because the guy on reception had entered it on the system wrong. We finally got breakfast after producing our booking form, which we ate off a dirty table and it was cleared away before we were finished.

This hotel resembles a badly run elderly residential home. On arrival we were told that the twin rooms had all been taken despite the fact that we had booked the room over a month in advance. We were then shown to a smoking room despite stating that we wanted non-smoking. The alternative was a double room, which would not be any good for us as we needed to seperate beds. In the end they struggled to find a double room that had a sofa bed. We accepted this as the best offer we were going to get and the receptionist told us that the porter would come to the room to make the sofa bed. When the porter arrived he dumped the bedding on the table and only opened the sofa bed up at our request. Feeling embarrassed to ask him to make the bed we did it ourselves. The cups in the room were dirty and the overall feel was dirty. Breakfast was ok with a good selection of hot foods. The staff at the hotel were generally polite but not efficient. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be going back.

We were not sure what to expect, but the room was surprisingly clean and well equipped for the price. However, the mattress was as thin can be with broken springs on one side, which is typical of most hotels! The staff are efficient though not particularly friendly. Excellent breakfast buffet. All in all it was a good bargain and I would stay there again.

We checked into the hotel in the evening, ready for a good night's sleep. There was a great jacuzzi bath and had a great bath. The bed had to be ancient; it was so soft, we kept rolling into each other. I have an ache from the bed. This hotel was lovely otherwise, very friendly staff but they could use some new beds here desperately!

For what we paid you cant really fault this place!! It was less than a travel inn, with a pool, steam room, etc etc!! And breakfast included! Not bad really - sure, the beding is a bit old school (fitted sheets and not realy modern looking), and the TV struggled to give a great picture, but its a great place, plenty of parking and lovely grounds! only ten minutes from city centre, and 15 mins from the NEC so perfect for what we needed!
