Hotel could do with a makeover but it was convenient for Manchester airport (15 minutes). It also had family rooms which was perfect for us. There are lots of restaurants nearby. Quite a bit of outside noise at night.

On arrival had good access, car park is very close and very cheap. Reception and check are good and the room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was ok. Pros: nice area, decent staff, nice breakfast, clean and tidy room. Cons: no car park (only a crowded supermarket pay and display car park), faulty light in the room woke me up several times in the night, beds not all that comfy.

The Ashley is a nice pleasant hotel, this has been my second stay there. I would stay again. The only issue we had was receiving a parking ticket in the car park next to the hotel, unfortunately we wasn't told that it was not free parking! When we asked the receptionist, he was a little arrogant about it! But it was a nice stay.

Photo's show hotel in a very flattering light. Room was basic but fuctional. TV gave a very poor picture with only 3 channels. Bar was rather run down and no food available at 21:30. On the plus side this made me search for food elsewhere and as previously noted there is a truly excellent steak house across the road.

I stayed for 1 night recently with my son. I found the reception staff very friendly & helpful. I had a special request which was accommodated. The room was huge, clean & comfortable. Some reviewers have said the decor of this hotel is dated but it is charmingly dated.

We had difficulty finding the hotel using the street name. When we eventually found it, it was situated close by a night club in an area which was run down and very noisy. It has no car park, parking being in a public carpark next to the hotel and littered with bottles and cans. It's just a bit far from Manchester, But Hale and Altrincham are nice places too. So you have to come back early. I suggest to take a look on the last trams from manchester to altrincham, if you don't want to pay a lot of pounds for a taxi. I suggest to the breakfast staff to serve a bit of water, it's required at morning :D Cheers

Staff helpful, location great, breakfast very good. All positive apart from the wi-fi works in the bar area only and you're very limited as to the sites you can access (no webmail, no bookmakers). Remote control of the t.v. didn't work. Other than that very good value for the money.

The Britannia was very conveniently situated for supermarkets and restaurants. Breakfast was occasionally very crowded because of coach parties but the staff worked very hard. I must however say that the coffee was disgusting and spoilt the meal for me . Uns war es wichtig in der Nähe des Flughafens zu übernachten. Dieser befindet sich ca. 8 Fahrminuten entfernt. Ein Supermarkt ist direkt daneben, die hoteleigene Bar hat günstige Getränkepreise. Für Kurzaufenthalte sehr zu empfehlen.

We were in the Manchester-area to watch a Saturday football-game. 3 minutes walk to the train-station and 30 minutes train-ride to Manchester Piccadilly.
