"5 Star Hotel at a great price!!"
Wow! I had the best weekend in Cancun and Marriot was a huge part of it! The service was great and everyone was SUPER friendly!!! I 100% recommend it!! I even got resort credit!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was definitely a great experience at a really nice hotel. The staff was very friendly. The room was great (I recommend the premium upgrade, it comes with an amazing extended balcony overlooking the beach). I would also recommend getting the breakfast buffet included. It was awesome! There are plenty of restaurants on site or within walking distance. […] Great location! Highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Beautiful hotel with wonderful attentive employees. We were able to use the next door JWMarriott but employees there were not as polite. One was extremely rude. Will go back to Casa Magna. We liked everything about it.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very comfortable and beautiful hotel but..."
The hotel was beautiful and clean. You could even call it "grand". The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One day my friend mentioned to one of the hotel staff that she wanted some "pan dulce" and he went down to get us a sampling for free. So, that was great. One complaint was that while I get that Cancun is humid, I felt like even with our […] AC running in our room, there was still a lot of moisture in the room. It just made it slightly uncomfortable when sleeping at night. Another thing was if you asked for recommendations on where to go to dance or to eat, I think the hotels work out deals with some places that give them kickbacks for sending guests there. While these places can be nice, they can also be really pricey. I'm an off the beaten path kind of girl, so while it was nice, I would definitely do some things differently next time. Overall, If you're looking for hotel/resort/tourist experience without getting to experience the real Cancun, this hotel and any of the other beautiful hotels in the hotel zone are for you. "Nice hotel, excellent staff"
Very nice hotel; all staff members are surprisingly nice and make you feel really welcome. The breakfast buffet is a bit pricey if you travel in family, but well worth it with a rich selection of typical Mexican breakfast items and American style breakfast, all very tasty. The pool area gets a bit crowded, but you can always find a place, and the staff […] brings you extra umbrellas for shade, if needed. The rooms are a bit small compared to other hotels, but you can manage. If you arrive early they allow you to use the spa facilities to shower / change and drop off your luggage which they will then carry to your room. This is very convenient, as it allows you seize every moment even on your day of arrival. WIFI is free in all public areas (although the reservation said it was not), including pool area and even partially on the beach. They do not provide a coffeemaker in the room, that's about the only thing I did not like. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great stay on the beach"
Great location, attentive staff, and clean rooms. We had a great view of the beach, and spent a lot of time at the pool and on beach. The fitness area is modern with a decent range of LifeFitness machines and wieghts. Restaurants are good, but pricey, consistent (IMHO) with the category of hotel. The Kid's club looked a bit dark and small, so we didn't […] consider it. We'll certainly go back if given an opportunity. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"STAFF AT CANCUN'S CASA MAGNA MARRIOTT WINS OSCAR!"
My friend and I stayed at the Marriott Casa Magna in Cancun surrounding the Spring Equinox. The staff there could not do enough for us! Plus, even though we'd booked our tour through Expedia, we were welcomed as honored guests, unlike a variety of unpleasant welcome experiences by hotel staff in other places, when not booking straight through the hotel. […] Our room was exactly as stated. It was comfortable, nonsmoking (the whole floor was nonsmoking), had a balcony, but it was a garden view without the garden. Still, we enjoyed it immensely. If we wanted a view of the ocean, we walked outside, sat down, and looked at it. Our included breakfast was well worth the additional fee, and the choices of food items were almost infinite. We LOVED the 7:30-11:30 breakfast hours! In addition, the lobby is beautiful. The population of guests ranged from singles to (many) families, and the hotel was quiet even during Spring Break and with Hard Rock close by. The pool and beach areas were fantastic. The sand is like soft sugar and the waves and wind, strong. Guests can rent cabanas for comfort, food, and drinks or sit/lie on the hotel beach chairs. There is a hot tub that faces the ocean, raised, and just before the sand (however, the water is not very hot). You can feel comfortable walking the beach. There is free towel service for pool and beach goers. Furthermore, there is even a hotel doctor available in case of illness. This is an awesome hotel, and the staff are EXCELLENT! "Perfect location, rooms needs upgrading!"
Excellent location right on the beach front. Beach very clean and beautiful sands. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great selection for all the family for breakfast and the hotel restaurants had a great variety of different foods that we tried each night. Bedrooms were clean but quite outdated, most noticeable in the bathrooms, chipped tiles, […] marked baths and sinks and fusty smell in the room. We also tried out Fred's Seafood restaurant across the road. It was also excellent, great food and service. We set out in one of the cabanas which created a very relaxed calm atmosphere, truly recommend you request one if you book this restaurant. Recommend cocktail happy hour as drinks were quite expensive, so too was the beach front restaurant. Though I noticed a few families with their own coolers stocked by the local store which was across the street. Sun lotion in hotel was aprox 100pesos more than local store. CasaMagna Marriott is a very beautiful hotel with a great beach view from your room. The beach was conveniently located very close to our room. One downside was that the restaurant food was a bit pricey and not as good as would be expected.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nasty staff and a ok hotel"
OK hotel but the staff is really incompetent. At check out i was presented blank credit card receipts to be signed, while I've refused to sign those the receptionist (Nadia) still charged it to the credit card... took me 2 weeks to unwind her unauthorized card charge. No excuses, no apologies. Looks like Marriott doesn't take any time to train the staff […] basic things, you'd expect in the States (or anywhere else for that matter). "Fabulous Mexican Vacation"
This hotel is in a great location with an amazing beach! The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. It is not as "modern" as some of the other resorts, but it makes up for it in so many other ways. I will definitely visit Cancun again and stay at Marriott CasaMagna. "A great deal in a great location"
Casa Magna is a beatiful hotel with many luxuries. There are little touches here and there that show the hotel's age, but as a whole I was very happy to stay there. The main down side is the food options. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with a great selection of cuisines and options, but the lunch and dinner options are both pricey and lacking. There […] isn't really a good mexican food option which is a shame for a hotel in Mexico. There is an argentian steak house, a thai food place, a japanese food place, and a couple of other options, but no authentic mexican food. The prices for the food are also a bit steep (from my point of view) at around 35 dollars a head without a drink or cocktail. The beach is excellent, the pool is wonderful, the hot tub is a pleasure not to be missed at sunset/sunrise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel with outstanding service staff"
From beginning to end this was a wonderful stay. The staff was super friendly and accommodating in every way. We upgraded for a very reasonable rate to a suite at the front of the hotel on the ocean. It was so nice to be soothed to sleep by the waves each night. It has a great beach and you could walk for miles. The breakfast brunch was the largest […] and best of any place I've ever stayed. We booked this as part of our stay and it was well worth it. They had low key entertainment in the bar area. We liked the quiet atmosphere but if you're wanting to party it's not the place. We didn't get in the pool, but it is nice with lots of loungers and it is heated which I understand isn't the case for many of the other hotel pools. Hot tub was nice too. I don't think you can go wrong at this hotel, all the rooms face the ocean. There weren't many children there when we visited so I don't know how kid friendly it is. We arrived at the hotel before the 4:00PM check-in time. The hotel staff made every effort to settle us in our room as soon as possible. "Winter Break at CasaMagna"
Gorgeous hotel on the beach. Poolside and beach both relaxing and enjoyable Large grand lobby area with various seating options and wifi. With so much space to spend time availble, inside and outside, the beach, pool area, restaurants and lobby never felt at all crowded, even with a convention in the hotel. The beach had plenty of covered areas, thatched […] umbrellas. The staff were helpful and all spoke english. The morning breakfast boufet was excellent, in quality and in the choice of items. Stayed at this hotel for four days with my 2 children and their friend (17 and 19 years old). The hotel was totally booked as I found out when I tried to extend my stay. There was a business convention but most of the other guests were couples (young to old); small groups and families. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no rowdy spring breakers at this hotel, like I saw at some of the other nearby hotels along the beach. The beds were comfortable and we had a patio off the room with seats and a gorgeous view. The hotel was quiet, loved the location, bus stop in front of hotel had regular buses for downtown and other nearby shopping areas. We were able to walk to AquaWorld for a snorkeling trip on the reef and walked to several very good restaurants each evening including a crab shack and a wonderful Italian restaurant with outdoor seating on the water. "Would do it again"
Nice hotel. modern and glamorous interior but not over the top ornate. It was my wife and I, and our 3 kids. We had an economy class room and it was impeccable. Staff were happy to bring us a cot for my 18 yr old. They typically charge for it but they gave it to us for free. The wifi was important to us - for both work and personal, including my kids […] 3 devices - but it was unreliable. signal was ok outside but inadequate when in the room. In this day and age Wireless is very important. They also charge $29 for wifi access for 4 days - dumb. Should be included. Pool area was outstanding, as was poolside waitstaff service. Prices are nuts. 5 bucks a beer, 10 bucks a mixed frozen drink, 19 bucks for a cheeseburger. 125 bucks for my family of 5 to have a small lunch by the pool. Beer drinking dads like me can save a bundle by buying beer outside the hotel and discretely bringing it into the pool are in a nylon cooler. Breakfast for 5 in the steakhouse was outstanding but expensive, about 125 bucks and we didn't eat heavy. Beach was gorgeous, sand, waves, waitstaff. Ate at the Mikado Japanese hibachi place where I had sushi and the family had hibachi dinners cooked in front of us. Skilled chef. Good food and flair to entertain the kids. 275-300 for 5 of us. They had a system outage for 2+ days that prevented them from printing my bill for me, so we had to check out blindly and wait for an email from the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"old, yet comfortable hotel by the beach"
Most things went well. Only a major disappointment --despite having a booked reservation through Expedia, I had to fight hard with staff at check out time to avoid a higher rate. My husband and I stayed from Jan.20-25..a break from the Connecticut winter. This being our 5th trip to Mexico, we decided to try someplace that wasn't all-inclusive hoping for less quantity but better quality, and we weren't disappointed. We were delighted with everything from the proximity from the airport, to the overall vibe of the hotel. We are […] both in our fifties and wanted a quiet, upscale place to relax, read and walk on the beach. We got everything we were hoping for and more. This is not the place to go if you are looking for wild nightlife on the premises, but rather a lovely dinner and a cocktail before an early night... we were more interested in enjoying the daytime than partying at night. Asked for a free upgrade when we arrived and got a beautiful room in the front..definitely worth the view…and also asked nicely for a late checkout and got that as well. Use the concierge..they are helpful. Lots of chairs and towels at the beach as well as great waitstaff there..good food at the poolside restaurant La Isla. Food and drinks aren't cheap but were priced like an upscale hotel would be in the States. Ocean is rough for swimming(especially for kids) but really beautiful to be around. Hope this helps..wish we were still there. Oh..we took the local buses to shopping..safe and inexpensive for sure. Market 28 was awful for us though..I've haggled in many markets before, but this felt overwhelming..left after 10 minutes and needed a drink!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great beach, great restaurants"
Huge hotel, numerous great restaurants, warm pool, and awesome beach. The wait staff was fantastic. The front desk staff was more difficult to deal with. We bought an all-inclusive package through Expedia, and because that is a 3rd party, the front desk didn't seem to fully understand what was included in our package. I called many times before our […] trip to determine this so we weren't surprised when we arrived. I was told we could add an additional person who was arriving a day later to our all-inclusive for $99 each day - when i arrived they said that is not possible. Fortunately for us it worked out ok, but the uncertainty at the front desk of what was included (# of ppl, wi-fi, all meals, room-service, etc) was frustrating. That being said - this was a fantastic hotel. The food at the restaurants was amazing. The waitstaff seemed happy to help and we kept them busy. All-inclusive was an incredible deal for us...so nice to order lots of bottles of water without sweating the costs. The liquor included is very basic, so if you prefer premium alcohol, you'll be disappointed. But the beer included for us was Corona, Modelo and Negra Medelo. The rooms were nice and had what we needed. Pool was warm and hot tub was nice too. Definitely recommend and would come back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I had a wonderful 9 days in Cancun. The beaches wer clean and white. The Marriott CasaMagna has everything you could want! The pool is huge and cleaned every morning. The hot tub is hot and clean and big. Hugo is one of the finest bellhops I have had the fortune to meet. He assisted me in everything I did and even gave me some Spanish lessons. Jose […] was his coworker and I never felt they were desperate for tips. They just wanted to make my stay relaxed. It is a lovely hotel with a pleasant atmosphere any time of day. The restaurants were very pricey but the food was amazing. I don't know how you could feed a child, however. I did not do the buffet-perhaps there was food that would attract children there. The presentation was lovely. I was never felt pressured to buy on the beach. The pool waiters did not bug you but attended nicely if you needed them. There is a McDonalds across the street. Also an OXXO which is a convenience store if you find the food or bar too expensive. Mayan ruins are within about a mile. Mall is a bus ride away. City bus is $1 American and they take our cash. Very easy and safe-I traveled alone and felt safe. The hotel has a perfect location to feel away from the busy city but close enough to access what you need. "First time Cancun, first impressions"
Having stayed at Marriott Hotels and Resorts from the West Coast to the Caribbean, we felt initially confident with our choice of hotel for our first time in Cancun, Mexico. first impression walking into the resort, grand and very opulent. Then we checked in, took 30 minutes for a reservation already made on line. The front desk staff did not know English […] very we'll and could not keep up or understand most questions and clarifications we were asking. The room was small although the bed was comfortable. The couch, a pull out bed was like sitting in a hole. The cleaning staff never changed the sheets in the 6 nights we were there. The condition of the hotel is lacking with numerous window leaks, elevators not working, filthy carpets, internet which is paid in advance stopped working, etc. The hotel gift shop is way over priced (I.e., water bottle 37 pesos, with water across the street for 9 pesos). JW Marriott is next door. One of the nights they have loud basso thumping music playing late into the evening, yet the staff had no idea what was going or why it was an issue. Concierge was suppose to make reservations however when we arrived at the restaurant they had no reservation in our name. Theirs review may sound snooty but for the cost and name Marriott, we expected better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
