My daughter and I stayed at the Marriott CasaMagna for a 5 day vacation. The resort was emaculate and the staff extraordinary. We were treated very well and assisted with every need. "Casa Magna is a great place to stay. 2nd time here"
The facility is very elegant, and clean throughout. 2 adults, 10 yr old and teenager stayed in an oceanfront room for 6 nights. Oceanfront room has a great view, worth the extra cost. Last visit we stayed in oceanview room, which is nice too. Wifi signal is a little weak when we were on the balcony, but pretty good signal everywhere else including the […] pool area. Try to book a package with breakfast included otherwise it's $25 person for breakfast buffet. Buffet food is above average quality and they have a good variety of options. Champions is overpriced and was empty the first night we were there. La Isla restaurant serves food poolside and on the beach and is not bad. We only shared appetizers during the day, and would go out for dinner. Taxi was always available when we stepped out, and are reasonably priced. Front door staff will quote you taxi price if you need to know pricing to a particular place. Last but not least, every staff member we encountered was nice and always greeted us, regardless of what they were doing or working on. Went to Cancun with a group of friends and stayed at Marriott CasaMagna. Had a great time! The staff took care of us and were always friendly and helpful. We stayed at the Marriott Casa Magna many years ago and decided to revisit in June. The staff is absolutely amazing and one of the main reasons I would return. They remember your name and treat you like family. A special call out to Hugo who greets everyone coming or going from the hotel with a friendly smile and really nice conversation. Our oceanfront room was very nice; comfy bed, had a fridge which was great and was always cleaned with no hassles. Coffee in the room would have been nice, but I brought a small coffee pot from home since I knew this beforehand. There was always a chair to be found at the pool or beach and the service was fantastic. The beach in front of the hotel is clean and beautiful. The location is ideal, quieter area, but close to all the activities. It's great to have a convenience store, McDonald's and restaurants right across the street. In particular I recommend La Dolce Vita, walking distance. Catch the bus for cheap right outside the hotel to take you to restaurants and shopping. Really enjoyed La Isla. Hotel is showing some signs of age, but renovations are taking place and I'm excited to come back and see what's been updated. That being said, still a really beautiful hotel! Our stay was outstanding. The room with ocean view was beautiful and clean. The food at the restaurants on the premises were delicious and the service was friendly and quick. "Just ok , watch your credit card bill"
Upon check-in, the girl at the front desk informed that they'd like to upgrade us. That was okay until she told us it would cost an extra $70 a night. If I wanted the better room I would have booked the more expensive room. It's not an upgrade if you have to pay for the upgrade. That's called buying a better room. Duh! Then after more of a wait(checkin […] is extremely slow, probably could just walk in off the street and barter for a great room price and spend the same amount of time at the front desk) the manager came out and was whispering something to her. She then said they could offer the upgrade for $40 a night. We said no again. Had to wait an hour to get in our room. Hotel okay but not anything spectacular or better than other hotels on the strip. There was trash floating in the pool and no one cared. Gross! After getting our final bill, an additional $36 charge from the hotel appeared on our credit card. We did not buy anything or any food/drinks before leaving, so I now need to spend more time contesting the charge. Would not stay here again, too much of a pain between check in and check out.
