East San Diego stretches into the foothills of the rugged Santa Rosa Mountains. Communities here include the satellite cities of El Cajon, La Mesa, and Lemon Grove. This area has one of the nation’s largest urban parks: the Mission Trails Regional Park, offering boating and more than 40 miles of walking trails. Sites include an historic dam that irrigated water to the Mission San Diego de Alcalá.

Not an impressive hotel. Very noisy. Hotel rooms face the busy road. No choice to get a quieter room. We had no towels in our room and had to call and ask for them. Did not enforce quiet hours. Decor was very out dated. Breakfast was OK, but busy and 1 attendant was not enough to keep up with the restocking and cleaning up of tables.

THE HOTEL IS SANDWICHED BETWEEN A LOCAL TRAIN AND A FREEWAY, BOTH OF WHICH YOU CAN HEAR FROM THE INSIDES OF THE ROOMS. HOTEL STAFF WAS ACCOMODATING, HOTEL WAS CLEAN BUT ROOM WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. We had stayed at the Quality Inn in Anaheim we enjoyed our stay there so decided to try it out while we were down in SD for the No Doubt concert. We were very please once again. We enjoy the fact that there is a microwave and fridge in every room. It makes it a lot easier. The price wasn't bad especially since it was memorial weekend. Will stay here again.

Stayed 4 nights with my family. We don't usually ask much of hotels, except that they be clean and well-maintained, and that the staff are pleasant. 5-stars on both counts here. We had a few glitches with the WiFi, but each time our call to the desk connected us with a friendly tech support person, and the network problem was always resolved.

The first night we were on the highway side and it was very loud - could not sleep at all. We asked to change rooms after the first night, the staff was very helpful and moved us immediately, we slept very well the second night.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now in the last three years. Both times(different management both times) it has been a real great hotel for us. We stayed both times during the Thanksgiving holiday, which is peak travel time and since this hotel sits right on the freeway you would think it would be real noisy, but it wasnt. Last time we faced the parking lot away from the freeway and it was very quiet. This time we were facing the freeway and it was still relatively quite. we brought our small dog, they have a great area away from the rooms for walking. Really great hospitality service in everyway. Straight shot down the street to a great Vons supermarket, the other directions same distance to a great Mall. Just10 minutes to Tiolis Crazy Burgers, a real great burger place. And 15 minutes to Big Kitchen a real great diner. We will definitely be back. We recommend it to anyone going to the San Diego area.

Loved the trolly going by and it was quiet..There was only one thing that i got alittle upset about and that was a couple of times i went to use the hot tub but couldn't because of some teens that used it on their way home from school. This i feel should not happen. Paying guest should have full access to it. That was the only thing that bothered me. Overall the hotel was awsome and i had a great time there..I would stay there again with no problem..

The offerred fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, toast, bagels, danish, and best of all waffles. The kids loved it and it saved us some money because we didn't have to go out for breakfast every morning. It is certainly not the fanciest hotel we have stayed at but we would definately stay here again!

I would only recommend this hotel by saying that one needs to be aware that the 2 Queen bed rooms are on the freeway which is very noisy. One MUST keep the A/C on high to cover the noise created. Not sure in the winter months if the heat unit can be cover the noise without keeping the room at a rather hot temperature. However, the single Queen bed rooms are on the backside and seem to be more quiet. One cannot use the pool area due to the noise from the freeway, so outside activity to enjoy the wonderful San Diego weather cannot be had at this hotel. Rooms are nice, but I cannot recommend the hotel

Just as all of the other reviews have noted, the continental breakfast is one of the best for the buck. The waffle machine is great, plus actual fruit, bread, cereal, milk, coffee that isn't too watered down, and hard boiled eggs filled out the menu. Not too shaby at all. I didn't check out the pool except just a little walk by, but it looks nice--not huge, but nice. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. The noise from the highway is minimal at best. I had a corner room facing the road and I heard nothing. In room fridge and coffee supplies are a bonus, too. A bit out of the way if you are looking for something close to the action of San Diego, but a quiet neighborhood is priceless in my book.

In general, the Inn was clean and nearby all the major attractions. However, the AC unit was old and loud, there was no hot water in the shower during peak hours, and the refridgerator was not cold enough (even on the maximum setting.) I do realize that it's only a two-star Inn, but those are the basic neccessities that I expect to have. The breakfast was suffice, and you can make your own waffles with their waffle machine...that was the biggest perk of the Inn. The staff were courteous and attentive.

When taking a shower the temperature changes as if someone flushed the toilet or something. So there were several times I had to move out of the way and wait until it went back to where I originally set it. Also the walls are very thin. This hotel allows pets, so you were able to hear the dogs barking in other rooms and the traffic from El Cajon Blvd. Also the room wasn't that spacious. The 2 person table was squished sgainst the window and the first bed. And the bathroom, microwave, closet space, refrigerator, and the sink were behind the bathroom door. so you had to make sure nobody was behind the bathroom door before you came out. The good thing was the hotel was located between to large shopping centers and it wasnt far from the beach or any of the other attractions.
