To be such a nice and upscale hotel, I was very surprised in the sheets on the bed, like sandpaper. I read that on many reviews, so the hotel has to know that visitors do not like them at all! The Marriott was clean and staff was nice. Its not a big hotel so you wont get lost. The beach is couple of steps away. I wish the pool was bigger. The restaurant "Simply Fish" is over-rated. Great location, had a premium ocean/pool view room. If you go ask for a room in the north wing, because in the afternoon the sun is very bright on the south side. Our only complaint was the SUSHI BAR....DO NOT EAT THERE...THE […] SUSHI IS HORRIBLE!! We have never had such awful sushi! I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. I gave it 5 stars for everything but the comfort of the room. The only reason I give that a 4 was because the bed wasn't the most comfortable I have slept in . But by far not the worst mattress I've slept on either. The hotel is IMMACULATE. My wife and I had a great time at this hotel. Most of the staff was fantastic..front desk, concierge, beach attendants, etc. Didn't like the attitude from a couple staff members at the adult pool (when they were available...this is my only negative). The beach is amazing, and it was great to have an option between the adult pool and the main pool area. […] It did seem odd that the main pool has a swim up bar, but the adult pool doesn't. As nice as everything was, do be prepared to show up early at the beach, or one of the pools...otherwise, good luck finding a good spot. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Aruba. HINT: If you stay here, use the bus system for going downtown. It is a $15-20 taxi ride one way. The bus is less than $2.50 round trip per person. The stop is right in front of the hotel, and the buses are clean. It is also very easy to get back on the bus back to the hotels. "Beautiful but not friendly"
Facilities were very nice, I would recommend. My wife and I have been to Cancun several times, Jamaica, Cayman twice and now Aruba. Out of all these places, Aruba has the least friendly people, in general. Not just the hotel staff, but other visitors as well. They weren't really offensive, just not pleasant at all. At times, the staff seemed put out […] by us, and some other visitors would literally run into you in the hall or lobby if you didn't move out of their way, never make eye contact, smile or say hi. Not sure the nationality, but we have not ran into this anywhere else we have been. With that said, Aruba is beautiful, again, the facility was nice and I would recommend, this behavior wasn't horrible, just not as good as other places... "A Return Visit to Aruba and the Marriott Resort"
This was a return visit for us to the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino after about five years. We were pleased with the redecorating that had occurred in our absence, the addition of an adult pool, and the adjustments made to procedures related to everyday guest requests such as pool/beach chairs and palapas. All were positive changes that we felt […] added to the enjoyment of our stay. The most notable change, however, was the overall resort atmosphere. We have always been impressed by the services provided at the Marriott but this time there was a viable feeling projected by staff that they wanted our time with them to be the best ever. At first we thought we had just been served by an overly conscientious single employee, but during our stay we recognized the friendliness of the staff was sincere and across all service areas; registration, housekeeping, beach towel dispensing, room safe repair, dining, etc. Each vacation has its memories but this stay at the Marriott for us was unique; we fondly remember the first names of staff members who made our vacation so special.
