"Best in Vidalia"
Front desk and housekeeping staff were personable and very helpful. The bed was a little hard, but that is subjective. Loved the hot breakfast just make sure you wake up early!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very happy with this hotel!"
Very happy with this hotel and our stay at Vidalia Comfort Suites. Way above average breakfast, great room with view. We were very comfortable and will definitely choose this hotel when returning to the Natchez area.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was great. I would just like the front desk assistant to be little more friendlier, but I loved the hotel & really enjoyed my stay. Will definitely stay there again. And the breakfast was GREAT!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable at Comfort Suites!"
Just ret'd from a 7 night stay @this comfortable motel located right on the Mississippi River. DH and I wished to see the antebellum homes of Natchez,MS but prefer a modern hotel to a bed & breakfast. The location right across the river from Natchez was perfect . Traffic is light and crossing the river actually added to our pleasure in the locale. A […] very nice walk along the river begins right in back of the motel. The park included, picnic tables,a fountain for kids to play in & several porch type swings facing the river. It was well lighted & felt 100% safe there. There are several restaurants in Vidalia -all require a car. I liked the catfish, scallops, & lemon icebox pie at the Sandbar as well as several items from Uptown grocery in Natchez. The complimentary hot CS breakfast included eggs, grits, biscuits & gravy, bacon or sausage, bagels, cereal, danish, fruit, yogurt, and make your own waffles. Things were replenished even after the official end time which was a very nice change when so many motels let things run out within posted dining times. We also ate @the on site restaurant one evening and the food was fine. We kept a few extras in the rm fridge to give more variety to breakfast . While on vacation why not go all out and add pecans, whippped cream or choc chips to those waffles?!!Housekeepers were very polite as was every employee we met @ front desk, cafe, and even IT.Both the bed & linens & shower were above average. Better light for reading in bed would be nice. Thanks CS! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Lovely hotel in which to relax."
We booked this hotel having read other people's positive reviews and it didn't disappoint. When we arrived we were assigned a room at the front of the hotel but asked if we could change it to a river view one. Not a problem! We could have spent all day watching the river traffic. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. We had a meal in the restaurant […] on our first night which, while not brilliant, was perfectly acceptable. The best part of our stay was sitting on the patio next to the river. Sadly it loses the sun quite early. The only downside to staying here is that there is nowhere to walk to except along the river pathway. You can only reach Natchez by driving as it is on the other side of the river with no pedestrian access over the bridge. Having said that, it was about a 3 minute drive, with plenty of free parking in the town. Apart from the antebellum houses there isn't much to see in the town, but about 30 minutes out of town is the Frogmore Cotton Plantation, well worth a visit. We were there over 2 hours learning about how cotton was produced during slave time and how it is now carried out. Just a note - there are no refreshments available at any of these places. I can't help but feel they are missing a trick here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Need a lot of improvements !"
Ideally located, this hotel need a change of management. The room was not well cleaned : dirty carpet, old linens and even dirty socks were found in the rollaway bed... Only one person taking care of the breakfast and being clearly overwhelmed ! We had to wait 20 minutes to receive waffles...Genuine Expedia guest review

We stayed in one of the rooms with a balcony overlooking the Mississippi. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. There was a love seat plus two club chairs and a very comfortable king bed. I liked it much more than the home we stayed in Natchez and it is just directly across the bridge. They even let us check in early so we wouldn't miss the USA World Cup game. Great find!
"Love, Love this hotel and location"
06/30/14 Retired-fun-travelin Jackson, TN
We planned on visiting Natchez, MS on our way home from TX so booked the Comfort Suites hotel in advance when we found out it was just across the bridge from Natchez. We felt the AAA rate was very good for a one room suite over looking the Mississippi River and bridge. The complete suite was very neat and clean. We loved sitting on the sofa and watching all the barges go by and see the bridge in the evening with its lights on. No need to watch television when we could watch that. Hotel was very easy to find. Plenty of parking spaces. The included breakfast was the usual, which was fine for us. If we return to Natchez we would only stay here.
"Not A Good Fit For Business Stay"
06/21/14 jimcojim Pearl River, Louisiana
Well let me start by saying my company requires me to stay in Choice Hotels so my choices were another run down property in Natchez MS or this hotel in Vidalia. This is a beautiful looking property on the outside and has a wonderful view of the river. It would probably be great for an inexpensive vacation. When I arrived everything went well staff is friendly. My room was well priced and was well worth the price a bit worn as far as the carpet but generally a great value. The problem came when I tried to use my computer. I couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi and the staff offered to help. I brought my laptop down and they couldn't connect but said no one else in the hotel was having any problem so I guess it was my problem. I went down the street to McDonalds and the wi fi there was perfect. Went back to my room and after awhile I noticed a card with the name of the wi fi company and an 800 number. I called them and after about a 20 minute wait and another 10 minutes on the phone they gave me a reference number and said they would call me back. They did say there was a problem. After about 30 minutes the wi fi started working and they did call me back to see if it was working. After that the wi fi worked but was slow and kept kicking me out of my e-mail even though the signal seemed strong. When I make my reservation at the Choice 800 number and tell them I am here on business the first thing they tell me is about the free wi fi. Most of the Choice Hotels have mediocre to poor Wi-Fi service. Let me give you a hint I don't ever stay in hotels I know to have poor Wi-Fi service. I need this to conduct my business while out of town. There is a Comfort Inn in West Monroe that uses a company called Hot Air I believe. They have fantastic Wi Fi service. Take the hint improve your service.
"No "late" food."

The hotel is very nice and clean. Great view, right on the river. Breakfast was the standard fare but it was what I expected and seemed fresh. My only negative is that when I arrived, 9:30 pm, and asked about somewhere to eat, I was told that most everything closes at 9:00. I guess the attached restaurant is only open from 4:00 to 9:00. The desk clerk told me that any nicer restaurants were a few miles away and they might be closed. I rode around the area a bit and found a Subway shop nearby. Other than the food situation though, great place to stay.
"Customer service so bad, didn't even stay"

I had a reservation with this hotel in May of 2014. I arrived early on the day of my reservation and was told the room was not ready, that check-in was 3:00, to come back then. So we spent 4 hours killing time on a very hot day. We came back to the hotel at 3:00 and was told the room was still not ready and that she didn't know when it would be. I told her she said it would be ready at 3 and she just shrugged her shoulders. I told her I was unhappy about this and she again shrugged her shoulders. I asked to speak to the manager and she said there was not one there, that it was only her. I said, ok just cancel my reservation, and she looked at me, clicked the cancel button and said, "canceled". Wow, what customer service! I can't tell you how the room, breakfast or hotel was because I didn't get to stay there. Just go across the bridge and stay in Natchez, they are much friendlier there.
"Relaxing retreat on thr river"
05/28/14 jyates34 Paducah, Kentucky
This was my third stay here and as previously, I was very pleased with my experience. First visit last year followed a recommendation from a friend who had stayed here, especially to enjoy the view of the Mississippi River. I was surprised at how clean and fresh this place was and the service was excellent.... And it has an on-site restaurant and lounge along with a complimentary breakfast. I always request a riverside room where I can observe the passing river traffic and have watched excursion steamboats arrive and depart from the Natchez "Down-under" landing and park. On one visit, I was able to upgrade to a corner room on the top floor with a commanding view of the river and all the towboats and barges as they passed beneath the Natchez-Vidalia bridges. I always plan my trips to New Orleans or Houston to include a stop here! I'm a freelance photographer for commercial maritime magazines and have taken many media-quality photos from the hotel's patio and have even gotten a few good photos through the window from my third floor room. Am really surprised this property is not affiliated with a higher-end (more expensive) chain like Marriot or Hilton.

The hotel has a huge, beautiful lobby. All the hotel staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. We had a king balcony suite and it was very nice. It was a very large L shaped room with a balcony off the living area. I would highly recommend this type of room. I thought the rate was very reasonable. You truly are right next to the river. We ate at the restaurant 3 nights and all the food we had was excellent. The breakfast was also very good.
"Get a room on the river side."
04/30/14 Nebraskan1 Nebraska
A great new motel right on the river. You can easily throw a rock into the river from a river side room. (Can't open the windows, so not possible.) It is across from Natchez MS and has a great view of the city bluffs. It was entertaining to watch the barges and tugs going by. The lit up bridge across the Mississippi River was quite scenic also. The rooms are huge at least on the river side. I would spend the extra few dollars to get a room on that side. The beds were fantastic. The breakfast was excellent with good choices plus a few in comparison to similar motels. The motel is built inside the levee, so you really are close to the river. There is a walking path behind the motel. Very quiet with no thru road close. I could stay there for a few days and enjoy the scenery, but, alas, had to leave the next morning.
"Our suite was comfortable and enjoyable"
04/28/14 BionicOne Cincinnati, Ohio
Natchez is directly across the river easily accessible by the bridge adjacent to the hotel property. We opted for a suite on the river side of the hotel so we could watch the tug boats and river traffic. Our suite with partial room divider had a small but comfy sofa plus a lounge chair. Big flat screen TV swiveled for easy viewing from either the couch or the bed. Furniture was in good shape and the bed afforded us a good night’s sleep. Bathroom was spacious with a granite countertop. Every thing was clean and fresh. They claim they have a restaurant but it really is the breakfast area with bright lighting. They have a separate “cocktail lounge” but that consists of a bar with a few stools plus some regular tables and chairs. It doesn’t even look like a cocktail lounge or a restaurant. I ordered a club sandwich for $10.95 which was an absolute joke with only a few slivers of ham, turkey and a small slice of tomato along with french fries. This was a waste of money and I don’t understand how other reviewers have rated this “restaurant” so highly. We did see a kitchen area behind a door. Breakfast, on the other hand, was a real breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs, sausage patties, sausage links, hash brown potatoes, biscuits & gravy and all the regular fare. Real dinner plates and silverware was used, no paper products. It was a good hot breakfast and great way to start our day.
"The Restaurant Was 4 Star"
04/18/14 JAGG J New Orleans, Louisiana
This hotel is a hidden treasure. It was so quite & peaceful. The rooms were very nice with beautiful Riverside views. The walkways on the river are well lite for comfortable moonlight strolls. You must have dinner in the restaurant. Mrs. Pat will make you feel at home. Salad was very fres & crisp. Ranch dressing was homemade. Main dish was 4-5 star quality. There is a spa on site. I will definitely visit again.
