Older hotel needs updating and maintenance. Staff very nice. Rooms small, no A/C , log bed frame way too big for room size. Wires hanging in hallways ? Old key locks, Lodge on beach with some improvement could be great place.

Room too dark. Side bed rails posed difficulty to climb over upon getting up. Bathroom extremely cramped. Burn holes in carpet in dressing area. "Pipe noise" during night woke us up. We got the impression we were bothering the receptionist upon our arrival and our departure. However, the hotel is in an excellent location, and we very much enjoyed our view of Lake Tahoe from our room.

When we arrived at the hotel there was no one in the lobby to check us in.... We waited said hello multiple times, finally I got out my cell phone and called the front desk hoping someone would hear the phone and come answer it. I waited for over 10 minutes before this guy came out of the back room, all the while the phone is ringing off the hook. Then when he came out there was no pardon me or explination just whats your last name, here's your keys, here are our rules, sign here. I was annoyed. The view from the room was wonderful, and the location was very convenient to heavenly ski resort, and walking distance from the casino/ nightlife area.

This hotel is old and not maintained. We were on the first floor. The floor above us kept creaking (very loudly) each time the people above walked around. It happened all night long and we didn't sleep at all. It was a miserable stay. When we complained to the front desk, they said that they will not do anything about it because "it is an old hotel...it will creak."

after reading nearly all the reviews, i chose to take the plunge! like many lake tahoe hotels/motels it is somewhat outdated, but many would consider it "woodsy". our room had a fireplace & kitchen complete with dishes and a fridge micro, etc. not all rooms come with this option, i guess. the check in time is later than usual but i was able to waste time with my wife sitting on an empty beach, it was amazing. once in the room, the view was actually breathtaking. large glass sliders open up onto a small balcony that look out onto nothing but a small strip of sand, a few docks, mountains, and the enormity that is lake tahoe. if gambling is your thing, the casinos are just a few miles away. really, the only true downside was the door between my room and the next didn't lend much into stopping the sounds of your neighbors late night funtime. all and all, for the money and the understanding that you're in TAHOE, it was a great experience.

The hotel's location is great and was chosen as a honeymoon location because of recommendation of friends. However, the booking came with a free spa treatment. This was confirmed with a phone call to the spa. When we arrived, we were told that Hotels.com had falsly advertised this feature and it would not be provided. Very disappointed!

We celebrated our anniversary at the Lakeshore. Our 1 bedroom condo had a patio and a gorgeous view of Lake Tahoe. It was nicely decorated(cabin/lodge)with a spacious living room and very nice full size kitchen that must have been recently remodeled and there were 2 flat screen TV's. The bathroom and bedroom were a little bit of a tight fit but clean, and some areas had been updated. The sink was a little low by current standards. The screen on the sliding door was a pain. Nothing major to take away from our enjoyment. Parking was convenient and the staff was friendly. It is located about 2 miles from the casinos. We look forward to staying again.

The view made up for any imperfetions in the room. It was a comfortable place, small bathroom, but cleaner that I've seen elsewhere, for sure! I didn't sleep a wink, though, because the bed was very uncomfortable to me & my hubby, and the sheets were like negative 200 ply! But, at least we had a great view to gaze out into. The patio was awesome, too, with patio chairs & all. They even have binoculars in the room! That will definitely be my hotel of choice on my trips to Tahoe!
