excellent location, centrally located, you can walk everywhere. Try the tapas restaurant la flaunta about 5 min walk excellent breakfast and dinner. Across the street is a coffee pastry shop called rambla 31, also excellent. The buses and trains are all within a 5 min walk, so are the guaudi houses. The bus to the airport is a 7 min walk. We left the […] hotel sat am at 8am, and were at the airport by 8:45 am very easy commute. T he neighborhood felt very safe, absolutely no problems. There is also a Starbucks 2 blocks away. While we were there for 4 nights we had about 4 different people at the front desk, al were extremely helpful and friendly great customer service. The hotel is older, showing some age, room was average for wear and was clean, just worn in places. The hotel is an average hotel. For the price you can't ask for more. I found that overall the rooms were clean but small. It's not bad since most of the hotels Ive stayed in while in BCN have been quite small as well. The Hardest part for me was that the carpet smelled bad and the beds were too soft. The only reason I gave it a 3 overall (which is high), is because of the location, it was very close to Placa de Cantalunya. We have never stayed in Barcelona but I thought, for the price it would be cleaner and newer looking. It was surprisingly quite. I would not stay there again.

This is a "high tech" hotel but, the WiFi had some issues and the internet connection was slow but, do-able. The location was fantastic #Eixample neighborhood# and next to a "Pans" #a kind of Spanish version of Subway sandwiches#. We walked to La Rambla and all of the Metro and bus connections. Our biggest complaint would be that the rooms all seem dark but it is an old building. We loved having a "juliette" balcony in each of the rooms. The family room overlooked a roof and other building backs but, the "Hi Tech" double room overlooked the street, very nice. We were there in May and the weather was very comfortable but, drizzly at times. The "family room" had a double bed and 2 bunkbeds. The phones in the rooms didn't work well...sometimes they worked, & sometimes they didn't #again not really "hi tech"#. All in all, we would stay there again, mostly because of the location & general convenience. Two of our 3 dinners were eaten at La Tramoia just a few blocks away. Fantastic location, hard to beat. Hotel was clean and staff relatively friendly. Three of us in a room, with bunk bed and it was comfortable. The BEST shower I have ever used, I deperately want to install one at my home. Breakfast was ok, but expensive. If you must have "American" prepared scrambled eggs, its one of the few places you are going to find […] it. You are better off going to one of the many cafes located within 200 yards of the hotel. This hotel was just okay but because we were traveling with our son, his wife, and our two granddaughters and very few European hotels have family rooms this hotel worked out fine. The girls are too young to stay in a separate room, so we opted for the Petit Palais Savoy Alphonso II in Madrid (which we really liked) and the Marquessa Santa Ana in Seville […] which was better than Barcelona. With the exception of the Seville hotel that had at least one comfortable chair, we thought our room experience would have benefited from a comfy place to sit. Our only other major objection was the silly glass doors on the bathrooms in all the Petit Palais hotels-----the lack of bathroom privacy was definitely a problem. I also found the Petit Palace Museum hotel in Barcelona a bit depressing because of the lack of adequate light-----from the lobby to the two rooms we occupied, enhanced lighting would have been a mood enhancer! Also, the phone in a Hi-Tech hotel like the Petit Palais Museum was a nuisance----very hard to use because it took a deft hand to both dial and hang up-----totally rediculous. I was travelling on business so i picked this hotel for the convenient location and the fact thatvit offers superior internet service. While the hotel did not disappoint in terms if location, i had a terrible time with the internet. The wifi connection was so poor in my room that i was unable to use my ipad to sype or download. Furthermoree, their system for getting on the wifi was so complex that it kept tnrowing me out and i had to get new password at least four times. I think that honestly this was security overkill. Before this i had been in a small boutique hotel in paris. The wifi was excellent and the pass code security code remained the same for my entire stay. The petite palace touts themselves as a high tech hotel. I think they need to do a lot of work to support this claim. The room i had was nice and i loved the balcony but it kind of smelled like pee so i think they also need to work on cleanliness. Also the breakfast always looked a little picked over and wasn't of the standard that i would expect from a hotel in this price range. The bedroom is big. Bunk bed for kids. But the bed for parents is made of two single beds, they can move apart, and there is a gap in the middle .... Petite palace accommodated our family of 4 nicely for a night before cruising. Reasonably priced and good clean room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Location is very good, just a few blocks away from the heart of La Rambla. Also 2 blocks away from Aerobus stop to/from BCN. Would stay there again.

We visited Barcelona, Bilbao and Madrid in October 2010, of the three hotels that we stayed in; Petite Palace Museum was the most expensive. The decor of the hotel is progressive, however, the room is small, there is no room for a desk chair and one has to sit awkwardly on the bed to access the laptop. The door practically opens right into the bed and […] you can hear every squeaky door slamming late at night/early morning. House keeping needs to do a better job in cleaning the bathroom. The window in our room faces a window of the adjacent building, so we kept the drapes closed most of the time, since we were only in the hotel to sleep, having a quiet room was more important than a view so we did not request to be moved Having a laptop with free Wi-Fi is a definite plus; the neighbourhood is great, just two blocks north of Plaza Cataluña. There are plenty of good restaurants/tapas bars/cafes in the area. The hotel is convenient to the Metro and shopping but far enough from the main stretch of La Rambla to be quiet yet walkable to Casa Battllo, Casa Mila and other Moderniste sites. All in all, if you don’t pay a lot for the room, I would recommend it, but for what we paid, I had expected better. Read more

As is almost always the case, if you compare the Petit Palace Museum with American hotels, it comes up lacking. That said, for a European stay, it's not bad at all. The location is great! Las Ramblas is a couple blocks away and the area right around the hotel is full of good places to eat. The Metro is also a couple blocks in either direction. The front […] desk staff spoke English and were generally helpful. Our room was interesting. We had a king bed (not always easy to find in Europe) and it was hard, but not unbearable. The free internet (including a lap top) in the room was nice. There was a stationary bike in the room as well but it was an old one and we didn't use it. The TV had about 7 channels - all news. The room guide claimed many more but they weren't there. The strangest thing about the place is the bathroom. For starters it has a glass door. It's frosted in the middle, and you can't really see through it, but it doesn't latch or even seal. You'd better be real comfortable with your traveling companion if you stay here. The shower is also a head scratcher. It has a glass wall about half way across which keeps most of the water from ending up on the bathroom floor but means you basically need to be in the shower to turn on the water. I would descripe the bathroom and room as style over function. I'm nitpicking. I still really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others. Read more

This hotel was ideally located, close to Las Ramblas, restaurants and two Gaudi landmarks. Small and quiet, despite the noise from the students, fiestas, and music venues. I travelled with my mother and uncle for a short city break. Check in was quick, staff were friendly & helpful. Hotel pictures are extremely accurate. The room was lovely (206) it's the room with the wavy line decor running down the side of the window. The lighting was clever, an off set main light, concealed lighting & 2 adjustable spot lights. The bathroom was immaculate & modern, toiletries were provided & complimentary slippers. Shower was fabulous, fixed rose above & horizontal jets. Towels/beds changed every day. A laptop was in the room which I used to look up sightseeing information. We didn't use the tv as there were no english language channels programmed. We did not book breakfast, instead we bought croissants at the gorgeous local patisseries. Excellent location for the Ramblas, a couple of minutes & we were at the top. We asked the receptionist how to get to Gaudi's Park, she gave us a map with the bus number/route & told us what ticket to buy & where to get it which was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in fact, my mother wants to take my father there for a break in the summer & will definitely stay in the Petit Palace Museum. Thanks to everyone at the hotel.
