I loved this hotel and its staff! It was closed to where I was working and then an easy drive to the beach for dinner. There was wine tasting in the evening and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The only down was a slow Internet but I will be back!

Our stay was great. There was free wine tasting with cheese and crackers at 5:00 pm each evening and free baked cookies in the afternoons as well as a big spread for breakfast each day which was free as well.

This hotel was very nice. However, there is no bell hop to assist with luggage and there seemed to be a shortage of luggage carriers. It is in a centrally located area for the region and a good value for the money. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful.

The Positives: Right off the freeway but not too noisy. Near restaurants and wineries. The hotel staff was very nice, and professional. At check in we were offered a free upgrade from the double queen to a King Suite (When we booked the room they were almost sold out). They gave us some freshly baked cookies at the front desk. Our room was beautiful […] and clean. The bed was super comfortable, and it had a warm and large down comforter and soft sheets. We had a flat screen television, kitchenette and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Breakfast was pretty good. Hot food, waffles, sausage patties, eggs, fresh fruit etc. Negatives: The hot tub and workout room were both out of order for the duration of our stay. They told us we could go across the street to the neighboring hotel and use theirs. But when we walked over to check it out, we got frosty looks and overheard the hotel clerk saying "Bet we'll be getting a lot of that this weekend.". Needless to say we didn't go use their facilities. Also, there was some construction being done on the main entrance, so we had to drive all the way around to find a side entrance. It was a minor annoyance. So, it had ups and downs, maybe just there on an off weekend. But we really enjoyed the room, so it was worth it. Read more

We picked the Hampton Inn for a weekend enjoying the Mid-State Fair and wine tasting in Paso Robles. SERVICE: The highlight of our stay was when the front desk clerk offered us an impromptu late-night wine tasting in the lobby. The Hampton serves a full hot breakfast including eggs, Belgian waffles, biscuits and gravy. The free wi-fi didn't work in […] our room, but it worked in our friends' room. CONVENIENCE: The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from downtown Paso, so we did have to spend some money on cab fare when we wanted to have drinks (there's no close public transportation). However, there is a shopping center right next to the Hampton Inn with a Chili's, Quizno's, and Target. RECOMMENDATION: Absolutely a good buy if you don't mind being a little far from downtown. An upscale clientele and somewhat remote location keeps the hotel quiet at night. Read more

We got the "studio" and it was a great size for our family of five. This was a last minute trip for a family emergency, and it was a perfect choice. The breakfast in the morning was perfect, it's so easy to walk downstairs and eat quickly. Our room faced the freeway but it was very quiet, we never noticed any road noise. The kitchenette suited our needs […] perfectly. The bathroom came stocked with six bath towels, so we didn't even need to order more! Excellent place to spend the night, room and grounds very clean and quiet. Super close to Hwy 101 but couldn't hear the freeway noise. Outside of town, but minutes away. This was our second visit and this time we took some friends and they enjoyed it as well.

I was not expecting much and so was pleasantly surprised on one hand and disappointed on the other. The best things: The location. The coffee. The bed and linens. The staff. The breakfast. The pool. The worst things: The lack of adequate sound insulation between rooms. The under-staffed front desk. The hall carpet. The lukewarm jacuzzi. The hotel […] was remodeling, so it was a bit of a construction zone. I was okay with that since there was hope they would change the hall carpet which was hideous. The rooms were neat, in good repair and the beds comfortable. Under-staffing on the other hand is simply bad hotel management. The front desk was under-staffed in the evening [when guests might be arriving] with just one person. Consequently there was no one to herd the two gangs of kids [15-18 kids] that were roaming the hotel unsupervised. I believe there was an event in the banquet room that they may have spilled out of. The desk staffing was all the more perplexing given the event. The pool was refreshing, the jacuzzi was lukewarm. The staff we did interact with were all very pleasant. The breakfast was well catered, though bacon would have been appreciated and the coffee was delicious. Another guest came back to their room at what I assume was bar closing time and was very loud, before falling asleep before the blaring TV. We had a suite - there was no escape from the noise despite our spacious accommodations. There could be a tad more insulation between rooms. Read more

Fabulous location for this type of vacation as it is centralized and has easy access to the freeway and highways. The staff was very helpful in their suggestions for restaurants and wineries to tour. The nightly wine reception was fun and featured local wines which gave us more wineries to tour!
