I will say first off that the hotel staff needs to communicate better. I made the reservation the day before and had gotten the okay for a late check out without an extra fee, I was impressed and pleased. However, when checking in I was told by the front desk clerk that it would be an extra fee to have a late check out. Then I got sassed when explaining […] that I had already gotten the okay. I arrived late at night and was the only guest checking in at the time. It still took about 4 minutes of waiting before either of the two employees in the same room acknowledged me. The hotel is old and very dated. The non-smoking rooms smelt like a cigarette factory. The security latch had been re-bolted to the door several times where it looked like it had been broke in to. I anticipated a smoke free room, but when we first arrived the room we were given was smoking. So, they did change us. The first room they changed us to, was not the same type of room for our party, and was too small. Therefore, they gave us another room. At first impression, this room was much better. It was the same size as the first room and did […] not smell of smoke at all. The hotel clerk even called us to make sure it was better (she was great!). However, after getting all if our stuff in the room, we discovered that the floors were so bad we didn't even want to take our shoes off. I took pictures of the horrible mold and I did let them know at the front desk that this was an issue! The outside of the hotel presented itself a lot better than the inside. The bathroom was disgusting, there were hairs all over the inside of the shower and the sink. room was not the most comfy and the carpet and decor were quite dated. It was clean however, and the a/c worked well, hot water, cable, ect. Stayed for 3 nights but never had the breakfast or used the pool. Pool looked pretty decent though. "Don't Do It!"
I don't usually write reviews, or even complain about bad experiences with hotels, but this one I felt compelled to tell you to stay away! We arrived late with three children, and had to haul all our stuff up to the third floor for our two-bedroom suite. When we walked in, it was clearly a "smoking" room even though we requested non. The air conditioning […] was leaking condensation so bad, that some genius had put a flowerbed trough underneath to catch all the water, except that it was full and overflowing and soaking the carpet. The general cleanliness of the room was filthy, including finding two sharp objects on the carpet, including one nail. We didn't even want to shower. Now, we WOULD have left had it been earlier in the day, but it was so late and my children were tired after driving 14 hours in a car. So we stayed, and I complained to desk staff upon checkout that the room was terrible, upon which he told me that we should have asked for a different room. How about just make sure the room is in good shape before giving it to us? That poor desk clerk, I could tell even he didn't want to work there. He knew he was part of a bad setup.
