"Not for Families"
Awful experience. Family room with two foldout twin beds and one regular queen bed. Absolutely no room for luggage and to move around. Booked through Expedia and the hotel refused to refund second night. Nearly an hour from downtown London. Asked if there was a park nearby for the kids to play (we had traveled all day from Ireland) and was told no. […] In fact, when we left the next morning, there was a park only 3 or 4 blocks away. Asked if the train was nearby.... told 10 min by cab, 30 min walk. Ate in restaurant and the staff brought kid activity / coloring sheets to table. However, no crayons as they were out. Service was slow and the restaurant was not busy. Asked if there were nearby restaurants to walk to, was told no. The area outside did not look nice. Overall, left hotel the next morning with no refund and stayed elsewhere despite the fact that the room was paid for. Only reason we stayed the one night was due to exhaustion from traveling all day. Absolutely not for families or kids. At best, business travelers or a night before leaving through Heathrow although I suspect you have to take a cab and I'm not sure how far the airport is. For me, very very disappointed for a Hilton and would never stay here again. Management powerless to do anything to solve problems (so they say). We were given free breakfast vouchers and the breakfast buffet was rather sad. Don't pay for it in advance. See it 1st if you are considering. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I stayed at this hotel on two occassions one the same trip and both times just overnight, The hotel was very nice, modern setting and comfortable for the price, A good deal.Genuine Expedia guest review
OK, not great. Room dark/drab, but clean. Asked about shuttle to terminal and a schedule was shoved at us at desk. Schedule had out of date fees. Food at restaurant pretty good at dinner, but service was totally incompetent. Came down for just a cup of coffee at 6:30 am and there was nowhere to just self-serve coffee. Waitress agreed to get some and […] disappeared. Finally just got on shuttle and got coffee at airport. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Uncomfortable Bed, WIFI Worthless"
The good: Clean, double pained windows mean you can't hear jets taking off and landing at Heathrow, quiet inside-- didn't hear much of other residents. The bad: Bed was super uncomfortable, springs were sticking up and kept jabbing me depending which way I turned. The wifi was worthless. It kept dropping every 5 minutes. For being a hotel that caters […] to business travelers, they really need to work out their wifi issues. Front desk not helpful at all about the issue. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel!! Highly recommend!!"
We stayed at this hotel for one night to catch a flight out of LHR. We were very impressed with this hotel! There were 4 of us (my wife, 16 & 15 year old kids and myself). It was so nice to find a hotel that would accommodate us all in one room. The room was very large. Larger than US rooms which was nice compared to the 2 tiny rooms we had to book […] at another hotel when we stayed in London earlier on our vacation. The shower was heavenly. The best water pressure and temperature we experienced in all of Europe. Very nice staff. Great access to and from LHR using the Hoppa bus (£4.50 per person each way). Helpful hints - The bus to the airport takes about 40 minutes and about 20 minutes from the airport. There is a small grocery store cross the street for things like water and snacks that is reasonably priced. Lots of Indian restaurants near by and a Starbucks, KFC, and McDonalds within a 15-20 minute walk up the street. Sidewalks on both sides of the street and well lit. We felt very comfortable walking around the area to grab dinner. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great option near the airport"
Just looking for a place close to Heathrow for an early flight- the room was great- food/restaurant was great too. Walked across he street for some takeaway- probably wouldn't do that again, but otherwise a nice place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overnight Stay near Heathrow"
Spartan accommodations, but adequate for a short stay. OUTRAGEOUS price for breakfast.–twenty-three pounds for a very ordinary buffet meal (close to $40.00 US). Room service trays in hallways for extended period of time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for a overnight layover"

"Comfortable night, large room"
This is not the nearest hotel to Heathrow, but it is one of the few that can comfortably accommodate more than 2 people at a reasonable. Our family of 5 reserved 2 king rooms where the chair folds out into an extra bed large enough for a child. The room was very nice but lacked a refrigerator. There are plenty of dining options across the street including […] a Tesco express mini grocery store. Keep in mind it is a 45+ minute Hoppa ride from the airport and a 20+ minute ride back to Terminal 5. It is one the furthest hotels from Heathrow. I would certainly stay here again but would opt for something closer if it was just 2 people. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AT A GREAT PRICE"
A KING ROOM AT LONDON'S HEATHROW AIRPORT FOR AN OUTSTANDING RATE.YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDIN1. I READ ABOUT 40 HOTEL REVIEWS AND THEY WERE ALL GREAT. ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL AND FOUND A NICE LOBBY, BAR AND RESTAURANT AND FRIENDLY SERVICE. THE ROOM WAS WONDERFUL -LARGE, CLEAN, KING BED-- I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE A TAXI TO TERMINAL 2 FOR TWO PERSONS […] WAS REASONABLE AND TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO GET TO OUR TERMINA L AT 5:45 A.M. THE ON LINE INFORMATION WAS NOT ACCURATE VIS-AVIS TRANSPORTATION TO THE AIRPORT. NO BIG DEAL. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Need Free shuttle & early breakfast"
Close to airport but a high charge for shuttle so we took a cab. Located on busy street with no other options for breakfast and high charges for hotel breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Far from airport"
The room was clean and the breakfast was excellent. But I was not informed in advance that the hotel is a long way from Heathrow airport, outside the free shuttle zone, and no one bothered to inform me in advance that there is a paid shuttle run by National Express that takes people back and forth to hotels. Result: a nightmare when I arrived at Heathrow […] -- no shuttle, no signs, no directions, cabs incredibly expensive. We ended up taking a local bus after an hour of exhausted confusion, and having to buy "Oyster" cards for that. Really unpleasant and inconvenient. Bottom line: This hotel should not be holding itself out as an airport hotel, as it is a long way from the airport. And it it does advertise itself as an airport hotel, it should give its customers clear and advance directions on exactly how to catch the "Hoopa" bus (or whatever it is called) at each of the 5 Heathrow terminals. "All too brief stay"
I found the staff very friendly and helpful, the room was quiet, with excellent appointments, a good bus shuttle to Heathrow airport nearby. Unfortunately my stay was very brief - not even able to sample breakfast, but I highly recommend this hotel - especially the delicious warm chocolate cookie you receive on arrival!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"comfortable/close to LHR"
Stay was fine. Staff was friendly (and loaned me a plug converter which I'd foolishly forgotten). The bed, which was supposed to be a queen or king, was really two singles laid side-by-side together so there was an uncomfortable ridge in the middle. Location was convenient for the airport, but a 40-ish minute bus+tube ride away from central London.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for very short stays, convenient to Heathrow"
Stayed one night before my international flight. Airport shuttle stops regularly at front door (fee). Has what you expect from the corporate Hilton conglomerate--very modern and clean rooms, soundproofed, A/C, nice bathroom, hot shower. I liked the tea kettle, teas and coffee in the room. Good breakfast but not cheap.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel, not so impressed with the locality, getting anywhere from there quite expensive, airport bus not complimentaryGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, excellent room."
Good location, excellent room. Amazing soundproofing. Despite the proximity to the airport we never heard a plane from inside the room. Transportation to and from the airport is best done via a bus, which they call a shuttle. It's about 4 pounds each one way. A cab costs about 18 pounds each way.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient for Heathrow"
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Loved the cookie I was handed when I arrived. Was accessible via the Hoppa bus to and from Heathrow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A great place to start your recovery from jet lag. Clean room, comfortable bed, courteous staff! Just make sure you have pounds for the "hoppa" bus - they don't take Euros, dollars or credit cards - for a one night layover, that is inconvenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel but poor location"
This is a very nice hotel inside. Very clean, the staff were very nice. We were able to get into our room before 2pm which some hotels do not let you do we found out earlier in our trip. The room was a nice size with plenty of room for all our stuff. I hate to say anything bad about this hotel because it was so nice and clean inside and friendly staff […] but it does not look like a very good area of the city. The buildings across from the hotels were very rundown and I was actually a little worried about walking around anywhere in that area. The bus stopped in front of the hotel but you had to stand out by the bus stop to wait for it. It is not easy to access the subway from this hotel, except to take the bus. It also said it was close to Heathrow, it seemed a lot further than advertised. We took the hotel shuttle to hotel and back to Heathrow, I think it cost 9 pounds per person. Doubletree hotels are usually very nice and I was surprised they would have a hotel in this location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not quite as advertised ..."
Staff was wonderful and helpful. But, the room was VERY small. We reserved a room for 3 adults, but room was set up for one adult and one child. There was virtually no room to even lay open a piece of luggage. And, oddly enough, the toilet was the worst flushing toilet I have encountered in 50 years - seriously (huge design problem ... took at least […] 6 flushes to get even a Kleenex to flush away). Also, they charged us for parking, but guest after guest did not have to pay because the control gate was up for the entire night and the next morning. Also, the door did not close properly - someone outside the room could see in where the door did not fit the door jam; there was about a 1/4 gap where someone could look right into the room. Positive - the bathroom was clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The Hotel is awesome"
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel because the staff were so nice to me. They gave me free cookies that was fresh and warm from the oven. The bed was very comfortable and I slept really good. .Genuine Expedia guest review
At check-in, hotel staff was not friendly at all. No eye contact, no greeting, and they even forgot my cookie. Hotel doesn't have a gym, the bathrooms are modern but very impractical (showers are practically open, and water splashed all over the bathroom, which is quite small). I was told to pay an extra fee for changing the dates of my reservation, […] even though I changed it within the timeframe stipulated in the terms and conditions. Overall, bad experience. The Doubletree near Heathrow (easily accessible via the Hotel Hoppa bus service) is the best hotel I've found for business travel via Heathrow, after trying several in the vicinity over the past few years. I appreciate the in-room wifi very much. I've stayed in several different rooms in the hotel, though each has been identical so I cannot comment […] on the range of room types. All feature a men's trouser press but none have a luggage rack or bench upon which to place one's suitcase, which strikes me as rather odd as one must either put the suitcase on the floor, sofa, or bed, and none of these alternatives is satisfactory. There are some other quirky bits (e.g., desk light will only come on if one also has the ceiling light on), but overall the rooms are clean, comfortable, and the lovely soaking tub is great after a long flight or the like. Food in the hotel is very good, room service excellent. Apart from the luggage rack issue, I am very pleased with the Doubletree and have made it my hotel of choice when traveling to and from Heathrow. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Airport shuttle was a plus."
Arrived at 9:30 pm, was pleased the restaurant was still serving. The food was excellent and not overpriced as are many hotels. Room was nice, though as an older person the climb into the shower via the tub was a bit troubling, a second hand grab nearer the edge of the tub would have been helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was my second time here in a year. Outstanding quality, sevice amenities and easy to use Wi-Fi makes this a great value. I had some special needs and the staff went out of their way to help. I'll be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Place to Stay Before/After a Flight"
We were happy with the Doubletree at Heathrow. This is a large, modern hotel catering to people who need overnight lodging before / after a flight, and it serves well in that role. If you are looking for a resort atmosphere or a home base from which to enjoy the sights and sounds of London, this is not it. We ate in the hotel restaurant because the […] surrounding neighborhood is not pedestrian friendly. The food is good and the prices about what you would find at any mid-priced restaurant in London. The restaurant was the only area we experienced sub par service. But the place was packed out that night (people watching the World Cup on the big screen in the lobby / bar area) and it looked as though they were training new staff. You have to use your key card to even get on the elevator and it doesn't always work. The beds are very bouncy - would be a dream for my kids to jump on them. Please also know that there is nothing around the hotel to go to for food. Service at the restaurant was subpar.Genuine Expedia guest review
