"City vs. Courtyard view"
Room was great, Bed was super comfy. Only negative - we had a courtyard view... which means no view at all. We actually couldn't keep our blinds open to let in daylight because we would then be looking right into 10 or so rooms across the small court. Make sure you try to get a room with a city view. This didn't matter much as we didn't plan to stay […] in the room long. However I loved waking up and jogging about 7 minutes to the arch!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel Dear Jeff: I am happy that you enjoyed our guestrooms and the comfort of our beds. We are very lucky to have our hotel located within close proximity to the Arch. I am happy that you were able to enjoy a jog to the grounds! I do apologize that we were not able to accommodate you with a city view room. At higher occupancies, we are limited on the number of room types available. Jeff, thanks again, for sharing your feedback with us!
"Great Location, Simply Average Accommodations"
Stayed while attending a conference in adjacent/connected conference center building. No maps of hotel available at check- in; had trouble finding Conf room I had to be in because of that and the fact that their conference rooms are referenced with different names (Salon 2 is apparently also the same as Ballroom 2, which I might have known had they […] had maps available). Facilities poorly operated (no water even available for speakers at conference ... basic stuff you'd expect for a conference of 500 attendees was nonexistent). Room badly in need of renovation, with worn upholstery on chair and desk top entirely warped and chipped from wear and moisture. Odd placement of bathroom mirror on door meant the bathroom was viewable to not only the entire hotel room, but the window to the outside as well. Bathroom door needed to be closed at all times for privacy ... not perfect planning, especially with no exhaust fan in the bath, as humidity from shower builds quickly. Location good ... lots of bars and restaurants within a short walk. I gave the neighborhood a lower rating, only because within a couple of blocks the surrounding area has a lot of homeless activity and doesn't seem terribly safe after sunset. "Gateway to the west in comfort and style..."
Our experience at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand was exceptional primarily because of the warmth and kindness of the staff. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home. For my wife, who experienced St. Louis for the first time, here experience exceeded her expectations. Thank you! We wish your hotel and the City of St. Louis a prosperous future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel in downtown St. Louis"
All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and seemed genuinely enthusiastic to be working there. Our room had amazing views of the city streets and the historic architecture. Our children (ages 2 and 4) loved running around the spacious room and being tossed onto the soft beds. The breakfast comprised some of the best food we have eaten at any restaurant […] in a long time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The only negative I can say about the hotel is that it needs a bigger sign to find the bar on the main floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There were some large stains on the carpet and on the bathroom wallpaper. The hotel was also rather noisy and very busy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel Dear Guest: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding the room and noise issues you experienced. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences and appreciate you bringing the issues to our attention. Please know that we will follow-up appropriately. "Good location, decent price"
Bought 2 rooms. They would only give us 1 room with a king because they were not "guaranteed". The other room had 2 doubles.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel Dar Explorer, Thank you for your recent visit to St. Louis and our Renaissance Grand Hotel in downtown. I can understand your frustration with requested room types not being available and was happy to see that we were able to accommodate one of the two reservations for you as requested. We hope that the next time you visit you will also have a chance to explore our restaurant . We have some amazing menu items you can only find from local growers and producers in Missouri. I would reccomend our signature bar-be-que dishes paired with our local goat cheese souffle. Your mouth will thank you! We wish you safe future adventures. Regards, Aubrey- Executive Offices

Great location with easy access to Busch Stadium, the Arch, and a short cab ride to the Soulard District. We enjoyed the stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel downtown"
Stayed at the millennium Hotel because of its reputation. VFW weekend hundreds of people in for a convention. Staff was overworked. Parking was four blocks away. They charge $18 for self parking. But the parking lot itself would only charge $16 per day. Nice enough hotel. But way way overpriced on this given weekend.Genuine Expedia guest review

Everyone we came into contact with was very friendly and helpful. We didn't even check in until about 11:30 at night after my son's wedding. The valet personnel were there and took care of our cars. The rooms were ready and nice and clean. Very nice experience.Genuine Expedia guest review

Most of the staff was great. Had a couple that were rude. The location was right next to the convention center so that was great. Clean and nice but not nice enough for the price. The valet parking staff was awesome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel Thank you for your recent stay at our hotel in Downtown St. Louis! Being located in the heart of the City but also directly across from Amerca's Center is a benefit for our Hotel and our Convention guests. We do have some of the best Valet parking staff in the City and I was glad they were able to add to your overall experience with us. I was also pleased that you found the rooms to be "nice and clean" as our team takes great pride in this . We hope the next time you are here, you will take time to visit our Capri restaurant serving up some of the best fresh and locale fare, including the best bar-be-que in town. I am confident you will find the service there most spectacular as well. Wishing you safe future travels - Executive Office
"Two night stay"
We stayed for two nights. When our room was not cleaned on the first night we called the desk and told them that we needed towels. They came in and threw the towels on the bed. No dirty towels were taken and we left them where the card told us to if we wanted new ones. The rooms that face the middle are awful and dark... "Hotel not worth the $300 I paid for it!!"
I didn't see anything special about this hotel that it should cost an outrages amount for one night. Yes it's close to the stadium but I've stayed in other hotels that were cheaper and alot nicer. Then charge us to park. Was really disappointed in the rooms. For the price that was paid for this room breakfast should be provided free. I've stayed at […] the others hotels close to the ball park and it didn't cost anything like this did. I won't be staying here anymore!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Beds are nice and comfortable. Staff is very nice, but overcharged our credit card, so we had to wait for refund. Also for the money you pay, you'd think Internet would be included, or maybe even a small complimentary breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review

It was a lovely hotel, and I would say the staff I interacted with at the front desk and the valets were fantastic! However, room smaller than I had anticipated for the price. "Nice hotel not so nice staff"
The hotel was really nice. I did not know check in was at 4. So I got to the hotel at 215 for a 3 o'clock baseball game and they did not have my room ready. "Disappointing for the price"
Room was small, considering the price of the room. Satellite TV went out twice. They have a parking garage behind the hotel that you can park for $18 a night. On our second night, I was not allowed to park in the garage I had paid for. The garage was "full". But if you paid for the Valet service, they parked your car there. I had to park in the "overflow" […] garage a block and a half away. When I asked the clerk at the front desk why I wasn't allowed to park in the garage behind the hotel, she said it was out of their contral because it wasn't their garage (even though their name is on it) and the good news was the overflow garage was the same price. "Not great, but not bad."
Our room was clean and comfy, which met our requirements, but still not a place I would recommend over anywhere else. 10 years ago, a friend stayed at this hotel and we stayed across the street and it hasn't been updated since. It's 2014 and the hotel charges extra for WiFi and even more for "Premium WiFi", something that should be free at this point. […] When we arrived their parking lot was full so we were sent to an overflow lot a block and a half further. No apology, no discount rate. Walking in the rain two blocks at a 4 star hotel makes you wish you stayed at a motel and just walked into the room from your parking spot. If your only requirements are clean and comfortable, that's what you get here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A little outdated?"
The hotel was nice, great staff, but I feel the price is jacked up. SD televisions? $10/day for wireless internet in the year 2014? These days I will chalk that down as an unnecessary inconvenience.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A very enjoyable experience."
I had never stayed here before, but this may be the only hotel I book in the future. From the porter who unloaded our luggage to the registration clerk, to the housekeeping staff, to the restaurant staff, to the parking attendants, I have never stayed at a hotel with such a pleasant and helpful staff. I know management coaches staff to be friendly to […] guests, but there was no evidence of false fronts. When hotel staff treats guests this way it's nearly impossible to not enjoy your stay. We came down for a baseball game and my son had a flight out the next day. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but the meal was excellent. A very enjoyable experience. "Chicagoan meets St. Louis"
This was truly a great hotel in a perfect & central location within downtown. My husband & I traveled with our two children (ages 4 & 6) and stayed overnight wishing to visit the Gateway Arch which was walking distance. We walked to the Cathedral, City Garden, dined at Pi Pizzeria. We only hoped to have more time for City Museum which was also down […] the street, but no time left. Anyway, breakfast was outstanding!!! Crepe & omelette station among fresh eggs, sausages, bacon, biscuits & gravy. The buffet also had milk options, full carafe of coffee at your table, and assortments of oatmeal toppings. The breakfast was a great bargain and we keep talking about it. The room was rather small, but we just needed a place to sleep and wash up. The concierge was very helpful and called specific restaurants which we had inquired about. We highly recommend this hotel and will be back here when we visit St. Louis again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel right downtown in St. Louis"
Very friendly staff and our room was very clean. The lady at the front desk gave us a paper filled with stuff to do and even circled some of her favorites. When we come back to st Louis we will defiantly be staying at this hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
Staff was great. Great location, centrally located to most downtown activities.Genuine Expedia guest review
We really enjoyed the Renaissance hotel minus a few small things. The first thing is the television set from the early 90s. They should really upgrade to larger, nicer tvs. The room was quite large and you could hardly see the tv from the bed. We also probably would have purchased an in room movie if we could have watched in on a nice HDTV. The second […] issue was that there is no free Wifi in the rooms. The hotel website says free Wifi available, but that is only in the lobby, which I think is misleading. Other than that we loved it. Great location, friendly staff, unbelievable breakfast buffet, and great views of the city. Hopefully they can catch their technology up with the rest of the world soon! Hotel much too expensive for what you get. We asked at the front desk if we could get cart for our bags in the vehicle across the street but it seemed to be a very difficult problem so we walked across and carried bags in ourselves. An alarm went off at 2:30 on Saturday morning with an announcement that we would be told as soon as they found the problem. "Overall Great Hotel"
The room that we had was on the inside of the hotel so we didn't have any view. The room was smaller than what I pictured. Overall, I was pleased with the service and hotel in general. "Great place to stay"
I booked this hotel based on location for one quick night/stop over while traveling cross country. Everything about it was great, from the ease of parking, the staff, checking in, cleanliness, comfort and the buffet breakfast was EXCELLENT and so was the service. We even got room service (dessert) which was excellent. We used the pool, which could have […] been warmer, and the hot tub was perfect, except for the little kids using it as a pool after 9pm. After a long day of travel and trying to relax I didn't want to splashed by little kids in the hot tub. Even their mother was annoying and loud, but it was manageable. "Tiny rooms, no views whatsoever"
The staff is nice, however the accommodations definitely aren't worth the money. Our room was tiny and the view was of the delightful brick building next door, nothing else.
