The people at the Steigenberger were wonderful. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the city and surrounding country side. Also very courteous and friendly. The hotel's location next to the train station made it very convenient for our day trips to Koblenz and Heidelberg, both of which were beautiful cities to visit. The location was also a negative […] because the area around the train staion is not the greatest. If you exit by platform 24, you just have to cross the street to get to the hotel, and this was fine for two women traveling together. It was also easy to get around the city from this location. the front desk was very helpful and professional. I used many amenities...sauna, printer, gym and solarium and appreciated their help. The wifi was above average and it was difficult to print, so not that fab for business. But again, the front desk was extremely helpful.

Due to train trouble I ended up getting to the hotel very late 3:30 AM and was only able to stay for a grand total of 5 hours. That having been said, I found it to be a very nice hotel and specifically the shower is amazing!! The shower head was one of those gentle rain shower types, only the water pressure was cranked up to 11 and the result was it […] exfoliates while it rinses! The breakfast was good but had a limited selection. The location was perfect for me because I had catch a flight at Frankfurt flughafen (airport), and all I had to do was cross the street and get onto a train which leaves every 15 minutes in the morning. I stayed here during my yearly attendance of a trade fair at the Frankfurt Messe. This is a good location only being a about a 15 minute walk from the Messe, Of course the rates are expensive whenever a large trade fair comes to town. Overall the room was decent, not huge but typical for European rooms. My only complaint was that the free wifi in the […] room repeatedly dropped off for long periods of time and then would come back on. It was not a consistent connection and although I asked at the front desk, they told me it must be my PC as nobody else complained. Yeah right. This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, and one might be concerned as it's right next to the train station next to lots of sketchy stuff. But this hotel is lovely, modern, and clean on the inside. Just what one would expect from Steigenberger chain. I'll be back anytime I'm in Frankfurt and need a quick access to the station.

Usually, the neighborhood next to the train station is a bit on the down-side. Not a problem here, as the hotel is about 80' feet from the side door of the station...and the bus routes...also walking distance from the better shopping area. Hotel provided good service, free internet, and breakfast.

This was a very nice hotel - convenient location, friendly staff, clean. Everybody that I interacted with at the hotel was truly friendly and helpful. The radiator in my room wasn't working right and they came up within 5 minutes to fix it, twice. Free wifi access was available and worked fine. The television only had German language channels but I didn't really care enough to ask about English availability. It wasn't a big deal, but maybe nice to have. There was a restaurant at the hotel, and a spa, but I never got around to use either. The hotel is right across from the Hauptbahnhof and within walking distance to the center of town, the main shopping area and other attractions. (There are a couple seedy blocks on the way there though.) The train to Frankfurt airport from the Hauptbahnhof is a 10-15 minute ride. Also a major hub for trams/subway. The station has a tourist info center where you can get a 2-day tram/train/bus pass, which includes going to the airport. Many options for food as well. We chose the Metropolitan for a short visit to Frankfurt because it was right next to the main train station and the U Bahn. The hotel had a five star rating next to the door; four would be more appropriate. Service was adequate and we had two adjoining rooms that were decent sized and quite comfortable. The location was just what we needed. We could […] roll our bags out of the train station on arrival and check right in. Then we were positioned to take the U Bahn everywhere we wanted to go, or just walk! When we left, the entrance to the U Bahn was maybe 100 feet from the hotel and we were at the airport in a matter of a few minutes. We had two problems: First, the staffing is low by U.S. standards for a comparable hotel. Kids found food on the floor between the beds in their room. A tray of room service from prior guests sat outside our rooms for a day and a half before anyone picked it up. Second, the in room wireless internet did not work and no one on the staff had any idea how to get it fixed. When the computer available for hotel guests also did not work, the front desk clerk was nice enough to let us use the hotel computer to print out our boarding passes for our flight home. Read more
