Villa Igea - Venice 45.43363, 12.341

Great location, a bit off the main tourist path but easy enough to find. We took the complimentary tour to Murano that is offered by the Hotel and did not feel pressured at all to buy as some reviewers stated. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

This hotel is in an ideal location on the Grand Canal. We were able to get taxi drivers and porters to assist with luggage. Hotel personnel were very accomodating and easy to work with. Room was small, but nicely complimented.

We could not have been more pleased with this quaint little hotel. It was a little scary after getting off the water taxi to be told to go through the alley a little ways away. This lead to a charming courtyard where the hotel was located. As we were very early, we could not get into our room. It became available about 1pm. The location is steps from St. Marc's Square. Good restaurants in every direction. Room compact, and hardly "A room with a view" it was at the back of the hotel, but quiet at night. There is a "back way" to the courtyard, which is marvellous, as it avoids lots of tourists next to the Grand Csnal. Easy walking distance to almost anywhere. Staff great and good breakfast. If I ever get bak to Venice, I will make a bee line for Villa Igea.

I was thoroughly impressed by this hotel. Its location was ideal being only a few alleyways away from St Mark's Square. We came upon our hotel with much trepidation about what it would be like as we had booked online just from the hotel.com website and being such good value for money wondered about its condition. The hotel is situated off the main frontage of the Grand Canal through an alleyway which opened out into a square with a church and water fountain. We opened the hotel door and the air conditioned lobby was a welcome blast of cooled air after our walk from the bus depot with our luggage to be met with a very polite receptionist. My first impression surpassed my expectations. Our room was on the '6th' floor (I don’t think it was the sixth floor though because the hotel did not look that high). It was full of character and to me was fully in line with Venetian decor. The bathroom was of a good standard being clean and modern. The room size was ample and although no view to speak of through the two large windows this really was a small price to pay for such a lovely room. The bed was very comfortable and along with the air conditioning I slept very well indeed. The only point I would make was the drone of the air conditioning but the benefit far outweighed the negative. I enjoyed our breakfast which was both continental and english orientated. The staff were polite and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Hotel with great location just 5 mins from S.Zaccaria water taxi stop. Beautiful quite location although only 5 mins walk to Sa Marco Square!

The hotel was safe and clean. We had an average-sized room. There was a sufficient continental breakfast. They held our luggage for us on the day we got there. The walls were a little thin and they were doing construction, so it was somewhat loud during the day. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Ask them about getting a water taxi to Murano (a nearby island). They booked it for us and took us for a private tour of the glass factory there. Both the taxi and factory were free and the gallery in the factory was amazing! We had a little difficulty finding the hotel at first. It is straight off the "water subway" and through the alley--if you go over a bridge, you missed the alley. The hotel is on the left. It is only a couple of blocks from St. Mark's Square, which was convenient.

The Hotel was very nice for the money we paid. We were greeted warmly and the staff were very helpful. Our room was on the top floor "Penthouse" the room was clean and spacious with a surprise roof terrace. The room, the hotel were a wonderful surprise and we will stay there again. '

Perfect location to enjoy Venice! My wife and I had a wonderful time and we intend to return to Venice and stay at the same hotel.

great location,quiet close to all the action without being in it. Very good service. Room was a bit small and the ac was not working or non-existent....other then that it worked great.

The hotel was great. Breakfast was really good with some of the best kiwi I've ever had. The rooms were nice. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was great. Right around the corner from the San Marco Basilica and right near one of the Vaporetto stops.

We had a very difficult time finding the hotel, it was through a very small walkway off of the canal beside Piazza SanMarco. Because of vaporetto/water taxi strike we did not get to or find the hotel until midnight. The hotel staff was so gracious, they upgraded us to the 4star sister hotel, the Savoia & Jolanda...Excellent location, extremely helpful staff and the room was wonderful even by european standards. Yes, it was small, compared to US hotels, but great location and would stay there again. Caution: We couldn't find anyone who knew of the Villa Igea hotel to help with locating the hotel because the venetians consider it to be part of the Savoia & Jolanda. So, as long as you are aware, you will be fine.

This was our last two days of our two week trip and what a wonderful way to end such a great experience as Italy. The staff were outstanding, the room was absolutely beautiful and clean. Our room over looked the terrace and Church...what a view! The only downfall if I had to choose one was the breakfast area was too small and if you didn't wake up early enough there was a line...but we didn't care much because as soon as we exited the hotel there were plenty of places to choose from for a bite to eat. The location was phenomenal, you were close to the water taxi (vaporetto) and to St. Marks Square, the bridge of sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri). Walking in St. Marks at night is a must and the area feels very safe.

BEDROOM WAS LUXURIOUSLY APPOINTED AND LARGE. BUT, WHILE NICELY APPOINTED, THE BATHROOM WAS THE SMALLEST WE HAVE EVER SEEN AND WITHOUT THE TUB WE HAD EXPECTED FROM THE HOTEL PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS. LOCATION IS TERRIFIC: CONVENIENT AND IN A GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD. IT WAS VERY INCONVENIENT NOT TO KNOW IN ADVANCE THAT LATE "CHECK IN" WOULD BE IN ANOTHER HOTEL, ITS NAME AND LOCATION.

Great room and location for the money. Excellent breakfast and very accomodating staff.

Just a few steps off from the water taxi and less than a 1/3 of a mile from the Plaza, this hotel was perfect for our stay. Yes, the rooms are a bit small, yet if you plan on spending your time in a room while in Venice? The service was terrific and Tomasso at the front desk was one of the best Concierge/Front Desk mgrs. I have ever met...and I travel extensively.

The hotel was in a great location and the service from the front desk was fantastic. The included breakfast buffet was delicious. The "King size bed" is just two twin beds pushed together, which was less comfortable than a full King would have been, but the mattresses were still comfortable. The room was clean; the shower was great.

The hotel has an excellent location on the San Zaccaria alley one block off the Canal. The water taxi stops right in front of the entrance to the alley. The hotel is quiet and just one block from San Marco Plaza and the Doge Palace making sight seeing and shopping very easy. There is a beautiful church just across the street (worth seeing) and good shopping down the street. The hotel is near many good restaurants overlooking the canal. You can easily take water taxis on the canal to other sites or to the railroad station. My room was lovely but small, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom brand new, elegant, and clean. The lobby staff were very helpful and pleasant and spoke enough English to help me when needed. They kept my bags the last day so I could sight see. A breakfast was included. There seem to be no views off the alley. You are no longer required to check in at the other hotel - they now have a card security system so you can let yourself in after 8PM.

The location is the best part about this hotel. It's within walking distance to everything and only just seconds to St. Mark's square.

A very short walk from the vaporetto station, and about 100 yard walk to St. Marks Cathedral and Piazza. Easy walking to restaurants/shops/bars. The room is comfortable and appropriately appointed. Hotel staff are helpful and courteous.

Lille værelse, men meget smagfuldt indrettet. Meget central beliggende på en lille plads lige ud til lagunen. Meget behageligt personale. Dejlig og rigelig morgenmad.

La Villa Igea est un hôtel 3 étoiles situé au centre du quartier Saint Marc, mais ayant l'avantage de se trouver à l'écart des "autoroutes touristiques", sur une petite place, avec vue sur la Basilique Zaccharia. Personnel aux petits soins. Nous avons même été surclassé! Excellent souvenir. Petits restos romantiques tout proches, mais il faut savoir éviter les restos à touristes encore une fois! Je recommande vivement. Petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet compris, ce qui est rare à Venise! Idéal avant de crapahuter toute la journée!

We were in Venice for four days. The room was quite small, but the wallpaper and bed was beautiful and we had a really comfortable and lovely stay. The location was ideal for us as we were right next to the riverside. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for comfort at a reasonable price. We even had a small balcony overlooking a beautiful church next to the hotel. Just be prepared that the rooms are small, but the service great and the hotel itself charming and located only 3 mins from san marco piazza.

nous avons apprécié le charme de la chambre, son confort, l'accueil et la disponibilité du personnel . L'hôtel est bien situé sur une jolie place calme (de notre chambre très belle vue sur l'église San Zacharia), son accès est très commode (arrêt du vaporetto San Zacharia à proximité)

Aucune critique ! Que des compliments ! Chambre très bien tenue, très propre avec vue sur la place San Zaccharia (nous avons même eu droit à un surclassement de chambre). Petit-déjeûner excellent (jus d'oranges fait maison !). Personnel très accueillant et très serviable ! Vraiment un séjour très agréable ! C'était parfait ! Hôtel à conseiller !

Vi åkte dit direkt efter vårt bröllop i några dagar. Lyckades få hotellets finaste rum - inte alls fel med takterass och all lyx. Även de andra rummen såg dock fina ut! Mycket trevlig personal och bra, "skandinavisk" frukost utan för mycket sockersöta saker på frukostbordet.

Det beste med hotellet var kanskje at det lå så veldig "midt i smørøyet" for oss. Enkelt med vaporetto rundt i byen og til flyplassen, et steinkast til Markusplassen og 10 minutter med båt til Lido. Helt supert for oss, og vi kommer til å bestille hotellet en annen gang vi er i Venezia. Koselig hotell med romslige rom, og meget hyggelig betjening.

Es ist ein Hotel im alten venezianischen Stil, sehr schön, dem Stil von Venedig entsprechend eingerichtete Zimmer. Einfaches, aber italienschen Verhältnissen entsrechendes Frühstück und sehr sehr nettes Personal. Da die Lage des Hotels super zentral ist, ist es auch nicht weiter schlimm, dass das Hotel selbst nicht über ei Restaurant oder die Möglichkeit von kleinen Snacks der einer Bar verfügt. In wenigen Schritten erreicht man mehrere sehr gute Restaurants und auch sehr sehr nette kleine Bars. Wenn wir wieder nach Venedig fahren, werden wir auch wieder genau dieses Hotel buchen!

Idéalement situé, à moins de 100m de l'embarcadère où vous arrivez venant de l'aéroport , à 300 m de la place St Marc , cet hôtel est très confortable: chambre spacieuse bien meublée, salle de bain bien équipée avec douche hydromassante (très utile après une journée de marche et de visites ), bon petit déjeuner , personnel accueillant, calme absolu .

Si tratta di un buon albergo, vicino alle zone di maggior interesse turistico. La colazione, compresa nel prezzo, era buona. L' unico difetto è stata la stanza un po' troppo rumorosa.

The location of the hotel was fantastic. It was just a couple of minutes from St. Marcus, passed thru a narrow aisle and ended up on a small market place in front of a fantastic church. It felt like coming to a new world. So nice and quiet. Hardly any tourist and very beautiful. VERY NICE hotel rooms (a bit small but..), very sweet staff. We will choose this hotel next time too, definitely
