"Close to Major Sites - Excellent Breakfast!!!"
Villa Igea seemed like a good find in expensive Venice. The free breakfast was the best part, it was a quality American buffet with excellent Italian coffee made to order. It was just around the corner from St. Mark's Square so we could walk just a few minutes to the main attractions, but was off in a little quite piazza, so it seemed quaint. One frustrating […] thing was the front desk hours. It seemed like they were just never open when you really needed information. I'm not sure if we cold have just gone to their partner hotel and spoken with that staff, so if they would have clarified that if it were a possibility, that would have been helpful. But when they were present they were very helpful. Overall, a very nice stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and great value in Venice"
We were thrilled to have such a nice room in the heart of Venice, for the price we paid. Because this hotel is affliated with a larger, waterfront hotel, you are able to access their staff and facilities, such as the free buffet breakfast. The staff at both facilities were extremely helpful and friendly, customer service oriented. The room was well […] appointed. The location was quiet, since it was in a side street. It was right off the Zaccaria dock and so convenient for local waterbus service as well as the Alilaguna to the airport. We loved Villa Igea!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good value in an expensive city."
We had a great 3 night stay. The room, like many Venitian hotel rooms, was small but it was well laid out, nicely furnished, clean and the bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with a working towel warmer, hair dryer and the usual amenities as well as the largest and best shower we had in our three weeks in Italy. The included breakfast […] served at the "sister" hotel, Savoia and Jolanda was a full buffet and was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location -- just a short walk to St. Mark's Square -- was outstanding. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent small hotel in central Venice"
Villa Igea is a great little hotel. Convenient location across from San Zaccaria church, just a short walk from the water taxi. Very helpful staff, great breakfast at the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda which is around the corner. A really good value for the price. I'd stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Staff Needs Lessons in Customer Service"
I will preface my review by saying that the room itself was nice - very small (I know, Americans are spoiled), but clean and nice. That being said, here's my story: We arrived at 12:30 pm and were told our room would be ready at 2:00, so they took our luggage to storage and we explored Venice until 2:00. Upon return they were about to give us our room […] when I reminded them that we had reserved twin beds (I was traveling with my son), so then we were told it would be another 10 minutes till the room was ready. After a 45 minute wait I approached them again and was told it would only be another 5 minutes or so. About 15 minutes later a staff member showed us to our room and said our luggage would be brought up immediately. Another wait of 15 minutes and still no luggage. Since we were only in Venice for the one night, we were quite upset that so much time was wasted in "waiting". Finally, my son was so tired of waiting that he went down and found our luggage - which was in a storage room with no kind of security at all. He carried all of it to our room and we were finally able to leave to enjoy the sights of Venice. No one from the hotel EVER check to see if we got our luggage (they didn't know my son had retrieved it)! I will never stay there again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing end to our wonderful cruise/trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Villa igea is a wonderful deal. It's the amenities of a luxury hotel without the price. It's a perfect location close to all of the sights. I felt the breakfast was good. It was great to be able to eat outside at the sister hotel. The rooms were very clean and quiet. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very convenient to the vaporetto stop San Zaccharia near Saint Mark's. Check into the sister hotel that is in the Grand Canal and walk twenty yards to this quiet hotel. Built in 1875 it clean. The air conditioning did not provide much relief and was sub par. I might stay on the sister hotel and hope the air conditioning works better. Breakfast buffet […] had enough variety to meet our needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
IF you need to take the water bus to the airport, this is a great location. We had a ton of suit cases and an early morning flight so I wanted something very convenient and this fit the bill. 50 yards from the hotel to the water bus! Expensive but you get what you pay for. Very nice breakfast included as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is an old palazzo refurbished into a hotel. The room was decorated to the period and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great location in Venice"
excellent location (next to St Marco). Room is kind of small, but is OK given the old quarter. It was hot in the room, which was not too bad given the weather outside (rainy and cold). Temperature regulator did not work (or may be I could not figure out how to operate it) Breakfast was OK, but could be better. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Fredrico the owner is outstanding, for his care of his guests. He picked me up at the airport very late and got me to the airport very early, which was included in the stay. "Perfect location and great service"
We got a great deal on Expedia for this great little hotel in a perfect location just a couple minutes from St. Marks. Nothing over the top fancy, but clean, comfortable, with nice bathrooms, and above all, quiet. We found the check-in and check-out to be extremely smooth at the neighboring sister hotel and friendly customer service. The breakfast had […] a good variety of hot and cold options, and the service was quick and efficient. The free wi-fi was fast and reliable. We loved Villa Igea and would surely stay there again. "Location, location location"
The hotel is literally 5-min walk from St. Mark's Square, 10-min from Rialto bridge; awesome for first-time visitor such as myself who wants to go to all of the major attractions. The Villa Igea is in a fabulous location with easy access to Venice shops and restaurants. The water taxi to/from the airport is convenient and directly outside the hotel entrance. "Good but not Great"
Our stay at the VIilla Igea started off on a sour note. First when we arrived there is no one at the front desk and we had to go to their sister hotel to check in. When we went room. It turned out we had to walk up another flight of stairs to the living area. At first blush it seemed nice but it was cold when we arrived and when we asked the porter […] how to turn up the heat, his response was to point to a pile of blankets in the cabinet. So we walked back to the sister hotel and asked to be changed. The first response was that they hadn't turned the heat on in the hotel yet and that we were upgraded to this room for its view. We persisted however and pointed out that with temperatures expected in the low 40's F the prospect of spending the night fully clothed under blankets was a little more important than having a "nice view". In the end we were switched to another room. From then on the stay was excellent and the service couldn't be better. In fact on the last day of our stay the city became flooded and we awoke to a over a foot of water waiting us. The hotel however was well prepared, supplying each guest with rubber boots and carrying on as if this normal, which we found out was the case. Overall except for the problem with the "refrigerator room" we would stay here again as it is in a great location near St. Mark's square but off the main street so it's quite, a proffessional staff, and good access to Venice's water bus system Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location but Average Hotel"
The beds are extremely uncomfortable, the rooms were not well maintained and were vert small, supplies (like toilet paper, glasses and tissue) were not replenished daily, and the breakfast quality was poor. Note: this hotel offers their boat to guests for Murano and they tell you that you can come back at any time. However, they take you to a glass […] company that they are affiliated with and, if you don't buy anything, you are given until noon to return (which was 20 min of free time). The best thing about hotel is the location but there are many other hotels that offer great location with better quality amenities. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small room but very convenient location"
Overall we liked our stay here. Can't beat the location. Waterbus location right in front of the hotel and St Mark's square is about a 2 minute walk. The room is extremely small but comfortable. The shower is a little scary though if you get claustrophobic because it was a bit too tight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved being in the heart of it all. The hotel was right at the dock, the buffet breakfast outside was wonderful. We would book it again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon. The location is very convenient to the San Zaccaria waterbus stop and close to St. Mark's Square. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. "Hotel Villa Igea - lacking decor & comfort"
The hotel is in a very ideal location (just off of the San Zaccharia vaparetto stop and very easy to get to once you know where to go. It is easier to find the sister hotel (Savoia & Jolanda) which is where you need to check in, and then have the concierge bring you to Villa Igea. Overall, the hotel was disappointing. It was lacking in decor and very […] outdated. There was no character to the room. Our windows opened up directly into another building and an airconditioner down below. "Villa Igea in Venice is a Diamond in the Rough"
Great location and a very freindly staff. "Can't wait to go back"
This was a nice hotel. We stayed at the extension to the hotel around the corner from the main hotel. The room quite small but very nice and clean. The location of this hotel is optimal; near everything and a short walk to St. Mark's Square. The waiter's in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel (where the complimentary breakfast is served) were not very […] customer friendly; bordering on rude. "Location is Amazing and the Room was Huge"
This hotel is perfect for Venice - the location is steps away from Piazza San Marco and the rooms are huge. Our room was a suite with a lounge area separate to the bedroom. There's a nice little patio area where you can sit overlooking a small church square - great for people watching! Villa Igea is a sister hotel to a large hotel (Savoia & Jolanda) […] just down the road (literally a 1 minute walk) so when you arrive you check in there.
