"Good location on waterfront at San Marco Venice"
Good comfortable hotel with use of sister hotel (4 *) for excellent buffet breakfast however room size smaller than expected with very compact en-suite facilitiesGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small hotel in quiet yet convenient area."
The position of the hotel is ideal for getting around very easily. The breakfast at the sister hotel just a few metres away was plentiful and it was very pleasant to be able to sit outside watching the activity on the lagoon. The 3 day pass we bought before our holiday made our vaporetta journeys much easier than buying a ticket for each journey, The […] vaporetta stops were very close to the hotel and provided transport to many areas including the outer islands of Murano and Burano, as well as across to the Lido and San Giorgio Maggiore. "Nice quiet location"
lovely escape from the crowds, as soon as you enter San Zaccaria square it's very tranquil. The hotel is nice, breakfast served at the nearby at Savoia & Jolanda hotel which is very good and it's great to people watch while enjoying a generous breakfast. We were a little disappointed with the room. I'm aware that hotel rooms tend to be on the small […] side so opted for a superior room and although it had a wonderful view it was still very small. "Great hotel close to St Marks Square but quiet."
We loved it! The hotel was perfect, on a small square with a beautiful church and a quaint little fountain. It was joint to another hotel which faced the see front. This is where we had breakfast during our stay in Venice. Several times we had breakfast out on the terrace whilst watching people go by. The food and service were excellent. The only thing […] missing in our hotel was tea making facilities, but otherwise excellent - room was cleaned every day and towels and bedding changed every day too. The room and the bed were huge, the bathroom was large and the over bath shower worked well. The hotel also has a roof top terrace (1st floor) where we soaked the sun several times in the afternoons. There was a complimentary trip to Murano, which was a great bonus! We would highly recommend a trip on the Grand Canal. That was fantastic and our guide gave us a lot of interesting information about the buildings. Another must: a trip to the top of the Campanile, for amazing views of the roof tops of Venice - on a clear day, you can see the Alps in the distance. The weather was superb - mid twenties every day, bright blue sky - made it feel like a summer holiday. We walked a lot and the camera was on most of the time. So glad we had this fantastic experience. Only snag: coming back to England! I wish we could have stayed there forever! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very good location"
This hotel is in a very good location, close to The Bridge of Sighs & St.Mark`s Square but is nice & quiet as it is in a square off the main Promenade. We had excellent Breakfasts at the nearby Hotel Jolanda on the waterfront.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Brilliant little hotel!"
The location of the Villa Igea is perfect. It is just yards from the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop (direct access from the airport) and literally next door to San Marco, tucked away in a quiet little square. The standard of the hotel and its furnishings is excellent. Our twin room was small but beautifully decorated in a Venetian style. Reception staff […] were very helpful and friendly, they speak several languages. They serve breakfast in the nearby sister hotel Savoia & Jolanda which is located directly on the canal side with the best views. Also free Wifi in the rooms was very welcome. We were offered a free tour to Murano on the first day of our stay. We were very happy with our choice and would not hesitate to go back next time when we are in Venice. "Excellent location and wonderful service!"
The hotel was easy to find, located just round the corner from all the great sights. The church opposite is beautiful! On arriving at the hotel, the concierge was really helpful suggesting places to eat and where to visit. Then he mentioned that they were upgrading us from a room to the private apartment at the top of the hotel! Never stayed anywhere […] where we had our own piano and dining room before! Breakfast at the parent hotel on the bustling front in the sunshine was lovely! The trip was topped off by the free private boat trip to Murano in a beautiful wooden motorboat down the canals to see the famous glass being blown in by the master glass blowers. Incredible! Would definitely go back and would recommend staying here! Would definitely stay there agai Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"And odd smell and very noises cleaners"
The hotel was easy to find, front desk was good, but were often not there so had to go to sister hotel without any clear instruction you had to do that. room was good but, toilet had mould/strange smell and was small and cramped and bidet was in way. Cleanners cleaned late, sometimes to 5 and went around talking loudly in Italian and smashing the walls […] with hovers and god only knows what. Hotel was in great location, good room overlooking the church. Very helpful staff and breakfast is served overlooking the sea. The room was serviced every day and very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Quiet hotel only 1 minute from the main front of Venice. Super view of Zaccaria church from the window. Great staff who are only to happy to help you. "Very good location just off the Grand Canal."
The hotel staff here was amazing! Very helpful and kind, going out of their way to accommodate us. Rooms are small but clean and quiet. Breakfast was good and the kitchen staff were very pleasant and helpful as well. Located on a quiet street just off the Grand Canal and past the Bridge of Sighs, this is a well located hotel. Go out the back way and […] down the side streets to enjoy the back alleys and restaurants. You can also take the back way to San Marco Square avoiding the crowds walking up and down the Grand Canal. We stayed in the Hotel for the period of 4 nights having stayed there previously in 2011. We were given a triple room which was very spacious. Perfect location and extremely helpful staff. Although the Hotel is just off the main thoroughfare, the hotel was extremely quiet. Look forward to staying again in 2014.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was very small (even by European standards)- beyond that everything was great. Good breakfast (including cereal, fruit, pastries, and hot food like bacon and eggs) served along the waterfront at the Savoia and Jolande. Take the Vaporetto Line 1 to San Marco Zaccharia stop. Turn right after disembarkation and walk along the 'waterfront', over […] 1 bridge until you come to Hotel Savoia and Jolande. "Great location but personal touch"
This is a perfectly located hotel, steps from the water bus stop from the airport. We loved being in this small hotel and appreciated the amenities of its sister hotel around the corner. "Incredible Location and Breakfast Buffet"
The location is terrific. Villa Igea is basically the more affordable cousin of the neighboring hotel (Savoie and Joyard?), which is located right on the main walkway of Riva degli Schiavoni that runs down to St. Mark's Square (a few blocks away). The hotels share a reception desk (bit confusing at first) and breakfast buffet (great buffet!). The staff […] are hit-or-miss: some are incredibly friendly and helpful, some are very standoffish (I guess this comes from working with two different clienteles). The room was pretty basic and the interior decorating kind of kitschy, but there's a lovely patio that looks out over the neighboring courtyard (and the Church of San Zaccaria) and the breakfast buffet is hard to beat--piles of prosciutto, fresh croissants and local pastries, fruit, cereal. So, yes, I'd definitely recommend it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We just had 4 nights in Venice and stayed at this Hotel. The Staff were outstanding and made the stay very pleasant. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful if a little cramped but that's being picky. The location is great - just a few minutes from San Marco square and close to San Zaccaria vaporetto station. And it is very quiet during the nights. "Comfortable and perfectly positioned hotel"
As other reviewers have noted, this hotel is great value for money in an excellent position. The boat from Marco Polo airport (15 euros single, takes roughly an hour) arrives right in front of the sister hotel the Jolanda, (the stop you need is called St. Zacharias jolanda) and you are about 3 minutes walk to the St Marks Square and the Doges Palace. […] Villa Igea is in a lovely little square with very pretty church, very peaceful and about 15 seconds from where you check in at the Jolanda. The room was v. warm (January so Venice v. cold). The photos on their website/expedia are accurate in all respects, Good size breakfast with lovely views. Staff professional and friendly. Lots of restaurants and all the main sites nearby. "We chose well!"
We got a great deal on this hotel through Expedia for a 3 night stay. As others have said the location for exploring Venice is excellent, right next to the square, bridge of sighs etc and an easy walk to the Rialto bridge. It is also directly opposite the San Zaccaria water bus stop from the airport (Alilaguna blue line) which takes just over an hour. […] To get to the water bus stop at the airport you need to turn left out of the terminal and it is a 5 minute walk (follow the water taxi signs). We had a room overlooking the lovely San Zaccaria church and it's peaceful square. The room was decorated in traditional Venetian style and whilst not huge it was clean and comfortable. TV had usually English speaking channels like BBC, Sky news, CNN etc. Despite the fact there was a modem right outside the room but the free Wifi wasn't the best as it kept disconnecting. The breakfast in the hotel next door was also excellent and of a 4 star standard. There was a choice of cereals, bacon and eggs, fruit salad, fresh fruit and cakes. On our final morning there was a queue for tables as it was very busy but the waiters did a good job of preparing tables quickly. January was a great time to visit Venice. We had many of the museums and galleries practically to ourselves and we were lucky to have glorious sunshine each day of our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel is situated in an ideal location that is close everything you need to see. The hotel was clean and to a high standard. The staff were totally informative and very polite. Easy access from Termini. Beautiful room. Quiet area. Close to everything. Nice staff. Very good breakfast on terrace close to the water. We could not have asked for more.Genuine Expedia guest review
As with most other reviews of the Villa Igea, it really is in an excellent location and for the price we paid it was an absolute gem. Can't fault anything, however we did experience some disturbance in the early hours of the morning as some guests returned to the hotel rather noisly - the hotel is quite old, and our room was on the first floor and we […] were woken by the reception door slamming and vibrating through to our room! Clearly this is no fault of the hotel, more lack of consideration from guests and I would have no hesitation staying there again and have already recommended to friends\family. The rooms are typically small (it is Venice afterall) and were beautifully decorated in old venetian style. We stayed in room 507. Breakfast was more than adequate (again, typically continental), but if you're a full english kind of person you may want to consider staying elsewhere....perhaps Benidorm ;o), The Zaccaria Jolanda water bus stop is about 20steps opposite the main hotel (as other reviews already state you have to check in\out of the Savoia and Jolanda), which made for an easy transfer to and from the Airport. The hotel is also perfectly placed for the Bridge of Sighs and St Marks square as they are literally within less than 5minutes walking distance. There are also some lovely traditional trattoria's, restaurants and a bar behind the hotel (turn left as you exit the Igea reception), so all in all, a great little find and couldn't have been happier! "perfect location and a quaint hotel"
fabulous location, and suggest you arrive by water taxi as it is a) easier and b) simply spectacular. Check in staff friendly, and helpful. The eating area has a fabulous look out over the Grand Canal, but the morning waiting staff were clearly unhappy and stressed souls.Genuine Expedia guest review
Given the price, I cannot imagine a better place in Venice. Sitting outside watching the cruise ships pass by every morning at breakfast was something I shall not forget. The breakfast itself was very good. Furthermore, the location was quiet and peaceful. Next time I am in Venice, I WILL stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nothing to complain about this hotel"
Very close to the water bus terminal. This is a sister hotel to the nicer one on the main street so there is no front staff in this hotel, which we did not really mind at all. Breakfast also to take place at this nicer sister hotel which had tables outside right on the water front. Nice breakfast buffet too. Overall I'd be happy to stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
