Trump International Beach Resort - Sunny Isles Beach

The hotel is immaculately located and kept up, I just had a single bad service experience at the bar area that bothered me: My parents and I were not acknowledged at all by the seemingly undermanned and disinterested lounge staff for a full 15 minutes before I got up and asked to be served. The response that came was unprofessional at best, "I'm sorry, […] there is a line, you will have to wait..." I was upset so I went up to the front desk to speak with a manager, but was told, "I'm sorry, can you wait 15 minutes because the manager is on break? If not we will be in touch right away to discuss your bad experience." Well, guess what...no one ever followed up! Bad lounge service, management indifference, etc. to me was kind of a downer to the whole experience. It should be stated, however, that the location, pools, facilities, views, and overall quality of the rooms was all first class. Read more

We were there to recouperate after surgery, so we didn't use any aminities. Housekeeping was excellent, fixed anything that was wrong immediately. Our housekeeper was so wonderful, she had milk and cookies and hot tea delivered to our room out of concern. Very nice. I booked an EXPENSIVE ocean view suite for a special weekend with a special someone. When I got there I was informed that it was a partial view. They fixed the problem by putting us in a lesser room with a ocean view for the same $ I was so disappointed.

We've stayed here before and liked the facility. Parking is pricey but its Miami. The food in the restaurants are great, especially the Bella Beach Restaurant on the beach was really tasty. Service was great but we alway put a DO NO DISTURB on the door due to all the computers and such, but a maid violated that privacy one day. The hotel and the housekeeping service was disappointing. My room was not getting cleaned until evening and that's after calling the front desk. No direct line to separate service department, all calls go thru the front. The shower curtain had mildew. The Kids club kept us from moving to another hotel.

We had an incredible stay at Trump. It began with the complimentary valet service when we drove up. It got better when our room was ready early AND we got upgraded to an ocean front room. The staff was so friendly and helpful from the bell hop to registration to towel service to the beach and pool restaurants and bars.

This is not a 5 star hotel, more like a 4 star with a +.5 for the friendliness of the staff. We had a broken hair dryer and a shower curtain and rod fall on my wife. Typical Trump hotel. Very focused on service. Everyone very friendly and attentive. If I had to find a fault with anything, I would say the decor. I'm told Trump just bought the building from a competitor so maybe they haven't had time to remodel. But over all, very good staff. Very customer oriented.
