The elevator was the biggest dissapointment during our stay. On average it took over 15 minutes for the elevators to arrive. The new system being implemented is terrible, you have no idea what floor the elevator is on, most times it would arrive and it would be full and you have to wait another 15 minutes. I am from Connecticut and work in the hotel industry. We have been going to Seaside, NJ for the past 6 years for our annual girls trip. We decided it was time to hit the Casino life! We booked our 3-day weekend at this hotel as the photo's looked great! When we arrived to the hotel at 9:30am we new our room would not be ready. We stopped in before […] the beach to ask two have (2) rooms next to each other. The woman was very friendly. When we returned to the hotel around 5:30pm for check in we had to wait in line for almost 45 minutes before we were able to get our rooms(at this point we were already frustrated) However they did pass around Hors D'oeuvres which was nice. As you will see in most reviews the ELEVATORS are beyond horrible. There are signs that say they are getting fixed but they have been saying this for OVER 2 years as we had another friend stay in this hotel in 2011. We posted photo's on Social Blogs and had more then one person comment and say "good luck with the elevators." The room was very nice, clean & the balcony was great! It was close enough to the Strip & they do have a shuttle service. We plan go to back to AC next year and unless I am guaranteed the Elevators are fixed I will not stay here or recommend anyone else. I spoke with one staff member about the elevators and he said "we are working on them they take awhile to be fixed" we just had a renovation at my hotel and the elevators took about (6) months to finish. "Nice hotel pity about the elevator service"
This hotel is off the beaten track, but with its size, height and views it has a very pleasant positioning, especially since the neighborhood seems to be undergoing a facelift. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the one or two who are not really stand out as exceptions. The rooms are very spacious- the room we were in came with a small kitchenette. […] The bar on the seventh floor is nice with a really spectacular view to the waterways. We also tried the pool on the same floor which is nice- a good size, providing a great morning dip. Wish they would open the pool earlier than 9:00 am. That would certainly give the opportunity for an EARLY morning dip. Now here comes the bad news. The new elevators they are installing are a disaster and a constant source of gripe for all the hotel's guests. They are slow (especially in the morning during check out time) and there is no visibility as to where they are- stuck on a floor, maybe? Who knows. They say it is costing the hotel $2.0m to renovate the elevators. Then why should the service be this poor, with little visible signs of any real work going on. The signs are not good as the elevator controls are not intuitive and you have NO idea where each elevator is. In a building as high as this why would this not be a feature? At least you'd be able to tell if an elevator is on its way . The bottom line- if you decide to stay here I hope you have a lot of patience. "Willingness to overlook"
13 of us took a trip to Atlantic City to celebrate a birthtday, we booked 4 rooms. Upon arrival we had to wait 30 minutes past the check in time because our room wasnt ready. When we got to the room on the third floor the beds were unmade, room smelled like chinese food and had the mentioned food containers on the kitchenette countertop. Went down to the lobby and were upgraded to a slightly bigger room on the 19th floor after our complaint. 19th floor, took us 23 minutes to get to our room, by stairs since after waiting for elevator for 14 minutes we decided that it would be faster to walk up 19 flights of stairs. We had the similar issue coming down in 5 inch heels, which we decided to take off in order to get down, and had to wash our feet in the downstairs washroom, which didnt have paper towels! It would be nice staying in this hotel if the management could solve the problem with the elevator. You need to use it at least 4 times a day. "Dingy hotel, outdated rooms"
I requested a lower floor but they placed me on the 12th floor. It was extremely difficult to get to and from my room because the elevators there don't work properly. We walked most of the time but the stairs lead to the garage then you have to go inside the hotel. The room was definitely not what I expected, especially not even close to their advertisement. […] The chain to the balcony door was broken and the lock was as well. The tub had dirt and sand at the bottom. There was no ventilation fan in the bathroom either. "Convenient, reasonable priceddecent place to stay"
I think the super soft bed killed my back. The neighborhood is what I run from in the city-so the biggest downer is not being able to walk around the neighboring area. The staff was nice the worst was the issue with the elevators upon arrival I waited over 37 minutes just for the elevator to get to the room. "Nice for the money"
Hotel room was great and kids loved it. We had a great balcony view. It is next to the bay but not a beach. It was also our cheapest option i found. We Enjoyed our meals at hotel restaurant. 15 minute walk to nearest beach. Only 3 stars because . Boardwalk near it is still destroyed . Long lines and waits to use elevators . Hotel condition slightly […] dated . Location is in rundown area of town. Not terrible, just borderline. It was safe enough in daytime but I wouldn't have family walk it without me and we wouldn't do it at night. Also, other than beach 15 minutes away, there is nothing to walk to except liquor store. No restaurants, shops...all are within easy drive though. It is actually a hotel and timeshare but I can't imagine anyone purchasing given the 2 year elevator renovation and missing boardwalk . "Be aware of the downfalls of this hotel..."
This was not a favorite hotel for our family. This hotel sits at the very end of the AC boardwalk and note that the boardwalk is not even there any more due to Sandy. We had to take a bus into the AC boardwalk area...then at night we made the mistake of walking back to the hotel in the dark. It is not in a nice area but looks like the neighborhood is […] trying to come back but just not there yet. The hotel is only marginal. The elevator system is terrible and not helpful at all. Remember that this is a hotel and a timeshare. Be aware that they will ask you to sit through the timeshare talk in exchange for $100 and a free night stay....the two hour talk turned into 3 hours and every time we said NO they would send another person to talk to us and try to tell us why we were making a bad decision and why would we not want to spend $10,000 to $20,000 after a 2 hour talk...just be aware of the timeshare/vacation club that they will try to sell you...it sounded too good, so it must be...but it was worth the $100...not sure if we will use the free weekend...I suspect there will be "issues" with trying to book that. The hotel rooms that are for hotel guest were nice enough but 80s decorations...we had a one bedroom and the 1 and 1/2 bath was nice. "The worst hotel ever!"
Please run the other way. The bathroom seat looked like it was chewed by rats or something. They didn't even put tissue and towels in the bathroom for us. We called several times for this and for them to change our covers since they appeared unclean as well. We also found a bug in the blankets after they changed them for a 2nd time. "Fantastic view from a shabby hotel."
The best things about the Flagship are the room's balcony, and its views of the ocean and bay! The building is shabby and needs to come up a few decades. "The place is a dump"
The lines for the elevators are too long. Their new elevator system is the worst and you can spend most of your day waiting. The hotel is in a very bad area of Atlantic City. We took a jitney back late at night and was warned to be careful walking through the "flagship neighborhood." The boardwalk is torn down by the hotel. The staff could care less […] about you although a couple of the ladies at the front desk were very nice just not helpful. We had stayed before and hoped it would get better but it has not. I won't return. The pool area is dirty so don't walk without shoes and there is no decent place to actually relax at the pool since it is always crowded and always noisy. People throw stuff off the balconies and it's just dirty so you can't sit out there. The restaurant is over-priced . Also, they try to sell you a timeshare to the hotel that I would never invest my money in. My mom and I stayed here the night before a family event in South Jersey. I'll preface this by saying that neither of us are fans of Atlantic City; the town is tacky, dumpy, creepy and unsafe, so while I can't say anyting positive about the surrounding neighborhood, the hotel is itself is great. For one thing, its tucked away from the casinos, so you're […] removed from a lot of the general trashiness. The service was helpful; we asked for a room with a view and we got it! Way up on the 33rd floor, we were high above the bay, with an incredible view of the bridge and some of the nicer casinos. Our room was cleaner, larger, and more spacious and updated than we had expected, judging from the Trip Advisor reviews. The pool /hot tub was really nice and had great hours of operation, plus the pool attendant was a real sweetheart. The views from the restaurant looked lovely, but we didn't get eat there. My one complaint about the restaurant was that they only offered a fixed price buffet for brunch, and it was really expensive (twice the price of a normal breakfast). It may have been all-you-can eat, but this did not work for me, being a light eater. If they would have had normal breakfast options, we may have tried it out.
