I think for the money, there should have been some major upgrading in the rooms and an inside walkway to the pool area. Our bed felt like the spring were going to come right through and the bathroom looked like something out of a nursing home with wallpaper from the 70's and a really basic tub. "Pleasant stay in the 'burbs"
My husband and I decided to spend a few nights here to get away from the July 4 craziness in our downtown neighborhood. Also, we wanted to escape the heat wave and enjoy some A/C (our apartment is unairconditioned). "Not what we expected"
We had gone to spend the weekend with various family members, swimming, talking, eating, etc. The pool, fitness club, bowling alley, and spa were not in the hotel itself, but in a separate building where you had to walk outside. Thank goodness it wasn't terribly cold. The pool had no tables or lounge chairs. The pool was UNHEATED. The children's lips […] were blue when we took them out of the pool. This hotel is excellent. It's a really nice retreat and the buffet breakfast is fantastic with lots of choice. The hotel employees are very friendly and very accommodating. The tuck shop is open 24 hours so if you forget or need something it's easy to get. I would absolutely stay here again. We stayed at this hotel in the beginning of May 2013,for 11 days (2 adults & 2 kids). This is a really nice resort, nice spacy rooms with big balconies and with superb golf view. Special thanks to the general manager, he knows exactly how to manage thinks and to make the guests to feel welcomed. Very friendly, real gentleman. Also, special thanks to […] the manager (pro) of the golf department, he had arranged for me a special golf cart, in order to be able to play golf (I am a disable golfer). It will be a good idea if Eaglewood resort could buy one of those golf carts. It worth the money. For those that want to stay and play, I have to say that the golf course is very nice and well maintained. If you need to improve something, in my opinion, this would be the breakfast quality (it is ok for one day, but not for every day) and maybe the room cleaning. Also the resorts location is super, away from everything and nearby everything (of course you need to have a car). I used to be an airline pilot for 18 years and I have stayed in so many hotels all over the world. Eaglewood resort will be one of my favors (and believe me, I am a demanding customer). When you first walk into the lobby the first thing you see is a stunning Christmas tree! It provided a great photo opportunity to many groups during our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and always willing to accommodate. We'll be back!!

I booked a last minute stay at this hotel November 17th and 18th. I wish I could give this place 10 stars, especially on their customer service. This trip was booked last minute because my mother (who was terminal with Stage 4 colon cancer) was flying to Korea the morning of the 18th, and this would be the last time that I would get to see her (I live in DC and had flown in early the morning of the 17th). I arrived at the hotel around 9:30 am the morning of the 17th, and asked if I could check in any earlier than the normal check-in time (3:00 pm, 5 1/2 hours later) Tiann, the front desk manager was extremely helpful and courteous, even before I explained why I was at the hotel so early. After telling him the situation and explaining that I wanted a room as close to the entry as possible, he not only allowed me and my 6 year old daughter to check in to our room right then, but asked if there was anything that he could do to assist when my mother arrived around noon. When my mother did arrive, he went and got the hotel wheelchair himself (since the front door staff was busy with checking out guests and bellhops were getting their luggage). He even allowed us to keep the wheelchair in the room so that she would have it at 3am the next morning (when she had to leave for the hotel). My mom could not walk, and was extremely weak - so the walk would have been too strenuous for her to endure to the room (even though we were very close to the elevators) The rest of the staff was so accomodating, it brings tears to my eyes to even remember. Any one who has taken care of someone in late stage cancer, who is terminal and not expected to live very long, can understand how burdensome it can be just to keep them comfortable. There were no microwaves in the room (which wasn't bad considering there were at least two restaurants on site and room service as well if you were hungry) so he would go down to the kitchen about every three hours to get my mom's heating pads heated back up. They did not complain or make him feel as if he was bothering them one time. The staff even allowed him to use the microwave closest to us without having to find one of them after the fourth time he was heating it up. This lifted a considerable burden on even my mom, as we were afraid that we were going to be bothering them. When my mom and brother had to depart for the airport at 3am, Chris was at the front desk, and he was just as helpful and accomodating as Tiann had been that morning. He helped to load the luggage in the truck for my mom and brother, and offered her a hot drink (Chicago in November, it was cold!) and brought it to her. When they left and I headed back to the room with my 6 year old, he asked me if I wanted to do a late check-out and that he would put it in. He told me I could stay until 2pm.!!! Without even having to ask him for it, he took care of the arrangements. The next morning, as my daughter and I were packing up, I received a call stating that there was a breakfast buffet waiting for me and my daugther, even though it was past the breakfast dining time. After eating and going to the front desk to ask about a taxi to Ohare (this hotel is about 10 miles away), Tiann suggested that they could call a town car for me whenever I was ready to go to the airport. It was only around 11:45, and our flight did not leave for DC until 6:30pm, so my daughter and I headed to the pool, bowling, and spa area. We spent several hours in the indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna area - enjoying that we could use it even though we had checked out of the hotel already. The locker room had showers equipped with soap, shampoo, and conditioner, as well as towels and hair dryers, so getting ready for the airport again was very easy. When I walked back over to request my car, there was a delay since it was near rush hour, but the bell-hop called other places and negotiated so that someone would pick us up for a reasonable fee. There isn't enough great things that I can say about this resort and spa. Yes, the rooms are a little far from the front desk area, and yes the pool, spa, bowling alley is in another building - but the customer service at this place is impeccable. The staff - and particularly Tiann, Chris, and Marilyn (our room service waiter that night) went far above and beyond what was required of them to make sure that our stay was a smooth and worry-free as possible. It brings tears to my eyes still to write this because the level of compassion they displayed was unparalleled and for that they have earned a lifelong fan and I will most definitely be using them anytime I travel to Chicago. The price was less than half of the cost of hotels near the airport, and I know they gave 200% towards their jobs.

The room was just okay, for the money in the suburbs you might expect a bit of an upgrade. Toilet was loose, shower did not drain. Bedding was not great. The bar was slow to address or serve. The only thing I can say is that the valet/shuttle service was excellent. Thanks guys you were the highlight of the resort.

The staff at this resort and spa were the best part of this experience. Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. The rooms were clean, large, well-heated, beds comfy! The dining room food on the lower level was exceptional.

I was in business at this resort and had a late dinner with a colleague at the restaurant on the lower floor. At this time of the day, you usually expect everything but great service however I have to say that this young lady, Emily W. impressed me and my colleague by her kindness, patience, great attitude and outstanding service at an hour in the day where any other ordinary employee would do everything to just get the job done and go home. Emily also had a great smile and a good sense of humor,. Just for that reason I may go back to this place again as I find impeccable service is so rare these days. Check in was handled efficiently and with a smile . The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. I was attending a conference. Meeting rooms were nice ... Very comfortable chairs, too! The breakfast buffet was above average and snacks were provided and available all day. I did not have time to take advantage of the spa. My only complaint is that the guest rooms were on the opposite side of the resort from the conference area. Actually, the rooms were far from the lobby, too. Make sure you bring walking shoes if you stay here.

This is a great meeting facility if you want to wrangle in your people and trap them in the suburbs under the illusion of Chicago. The food is really amazing for a conference hotel. Where I have the problem is paying for a room in a resort that should be priced out more like a budget friendly hotel. However I will say, the shuttle service to a nearby mall is a saving grace. Safwat was a great driver and very friendly. He even offered to drive us to a nearby Starbucks as the resort is missing an espresso machine for its guests. So, the question is, is it really a resort?

What a lovely place to visit! The prairie style architecture was welcoming, the staff went out of their way to meet our requests, and the facilities were superb. From a comfortable room to a lovely pool to a superb restaurant, Eaglewood has a bit of something for everyone. We would definitely stay here again.
