"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"Broken Phone, fridge, and thin walls"
We arrived to a room where the fridge and phone did not work. Maintenance came and "fixed" the fridge. Our drinks and food were cold and smelly in the morning. We were up late watching a movie and our neighbors complained. Our tv wasn't loud at all! The man who came to our door insisted we turn off the tv and go to sleep. Finally, we woke up to a puddle […] from a leak in the bathroom. Not a good or easy or pleasant experience. Read more

"Just terrible customer service"
I originally booked 3 rooms there for 2 nights online. This was easy. Then I had to extend 2 of the rooms by one extra day. I called in to do this, this ended up being a disaster. When I first called, I was put on hold multiple times for about 15-20 minutes only to be told that the front desk lady didn't know how to extend my stay and that I'd have […] to call back. I called back and booked those rooms. Unfortunately since it was a separate booking, we were checkout out of those 2 rooms after the first night, so that was another headache. Also, since there were 3 rooms being booked, that means that it was more than just myself staying there. This was a huge problem for other people to check in or out unless I was there, even though I clarified that this would be ok over the phone. This on top of the entire rest of the floor was a single party that kept us up all night friday. I will not stay here and will warn anyone else to be wary. Read more
"Little issues"
Overall this is good hotel for the price. It has a couple of odd things. First of all the hard metal door stop in the bathroom is right where you would put the bath mat. It would be ever so easy to step on that and really hurt your foot. Also some of the parking is at a really steep slant I have a stick shift and I had to employ the emergency brake […] to back out of the spot Room was clean Breakfast was fine but there was a big school group dominating the breakfast area. "NYC Trip - perfect place to stay"
Lots of tour busses and noisy kids didn't kill this visit for us. The room was clean, we enjoyed the free breakfast, and it's only a 10 minute drive into Manhattan even with the morning traffic. Only negative is the generally rough neighborhood that surrounds the hotel is not family friendly (dining, walking, etc.).
We used it as a "Home Base " to hit the sites. Close to Metro station and Statue of Liberty. Had a room for 4and had to ask 2 days in a row for the 4th washcloth.Bed sheet had a hole in it.
"Good hotel -- Bad shuttle"
I picked this hotel to be close to NYC. The rooms were nice, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. . . But the shuttle ride back from NYC was a horrible experience. We learned our lesson after the first night of being lost for 2 hours. Most of the shuttle drivers don't speak English, so you have to pay close attention to where to get off the […] bus. Read more
"Very Close to NY and The Cake Boss"
This hotel was very close to NY tunnels and Hoboken "The Cake Boss" bakery. My family and I took the train to World Trade Center for $2 each. Would def stay at this hotel again.

"Fabulous Staff"
Very friendly staff, Upgraded the room for free.Public shuttle to and from downtown NYC for $6.00 round trip. There is a walk to shuttle stop and you need tlo do some advance education for return trip; but all in all a good way to see NYC for a reasonable price.
"Holiday inn express"
Everything was perfect except the front desk staff. Horrible and downright rude. There was one tiny Spanish girl who was amazingly nice and so helpful. Everyone else was rude. Every time I called front desk, they hung up on me. The hotel housekeepers and kitchen always smiled and were wonderful. Change the front desk clerks and you would have a perfect […] hotel. Read more
"Overall Experience"
We had a group of partying teenagers that were stoned and drunk and making noise until 2am. The police had to raid the hotel. Felt very unsafe.
"Pretty good hotel near the Meadowlands convention"
Bathroom tiny. Only one can fit in at a time. Shower stall has no decent shelves to put shampoo or soap bars on. No towel racks to put your towels or wash cloths on. Television reception very snowy. Large drawer kept opening by itself. Had to tape it closed for safety at night. Room was clean comfortable and the free breakfast was the best. LD
"Nice Hotel, Nice Staff, Awkward Location"
The room was clean, and neat, stall shower is a bit tight. My room was next to the elevator and I was expecting to hear noise all night, fortunately there was not a problem. Parking was OK, and the free breakfast was good. I would recommend this motel to a friend who needed a good, clean motel, at a good price.
"Excellent Hotel, inconvenient location"
The hotel was excellent. Matthew (customer service rep) was wonderful. He was delightful although his co workers seemed uncomfortable with his friendliness. The only problem was the cost of tolls going back and forth to NY. The area was dreary and depressing.

"Horrible"
First they didn't have my room ready, than they give me a totally different room. Than they accuse me of not signing the check in papers. It was horrible I will never come here again.

"Good hotel, not easy to commute to NYC"
Good hotel, exactly what you expect from Holiday Inn Express. Room is nice, breakfast is good. Affordable price. Drawback: they don't have their own shuttle to NYC and the walk to the bus station is not nice at all, and the last bus is at midnight, so if you stay late you will have to get a cab ($40) or if you want to drive to the ctiy you'll have to […] pay tall fee - $17 for a car plus partking which is $15-$35 a day. Bottom line-wouldn't recomend to stay if you are going to NYC. Read more
"Reasonable NY hotel"
Situated near at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel - very covenient to Manhattan at a lower price than in the city. Free parking and a shuttle to the city available at a little walk. Good breakfast and clean pleasant Holiday Inn rooms.
"Good for the price"
Good hotel for short stay, no much to do around. Close to New York City. Rooms and breakfast very good.
the staff was rude the food was aweful
"Good Value"
Relatively new hotel. Clean. Efficient. Good for family vacation. Breakfast exceeded expectations. Friendly staff. The workout room is postage stamp size. The neighborhood is North Jersey. Not dangerous, but nothing to make one want to leave the hotel.

Very Friendly, only issue was water was not hot, which we advised them when checking out. They thanked me for advising them, and said they would get it fixed. What can I say, things happen.

"hotel in North Bergen"
Doors were slamming all evening , the people in the room next door were extremely loud, and early in the morning people were down in the parking lot talking very loud. It was quieter the last time I stayed there.

"Holiday Inn Express North Bergen Lincoln Tunnel"
THE HOTEL WAS FINE, EXCEPT FOR A WEIRD SMELL THAT PERMIATED THROUGH THE RECEPTION TO THE 5TH FLOOR WHERE I STAYED! ALTHOUGH IT WAS A NO SMOKING HOTEL IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT SOME OF THE GUESTS WERE NOT FOLLOWING RULES AND IT SMELT OF CIGARETTES. I THINK THE WEIRD SMELL WAS THE HOTEL STAFF'S ATTEMPT AT CAMOFLAGING THAT. UNFORTUNATELY IT JUST MADE IT WORSE, […] LIKE PUTTING PERFUME OVER SWEAT!! Read more
"Close to New York"
Pros - Excellent location. Close to New York with convenient options to get there - Excellent service. Friendly staff. Good breakfast - Excellent price - Excellent dinner options Cons - Directions by the hotel staff for coming back from NYC favored the private operator than NJ Transit(which is also an option). The private operator does not announce […] when your stop comes by. Had an extra 15 min walk in the cold due to a missed stop - Bed too soft for my preference Read more
"The Holiday Inn Express North Bergen Lincoln Tunne"
Ultimately the hotel does what it needs to do as far as gives a room to sleep in. It does have relatively convenient access to the city by a shuttle but the shuttle is sketchy and so is the walk back from the shuttle during the midnight to 5 am shift. The bathroom that we had in our room was VERY small. The complimentary breakfast was decent as well. […] Also, the address is from on the site which says 2600 and it's 2750. If you use the 2600 you'll be put in the back of the Lowes building on an off the beaten path road. Read more
"below expectations"
The room was teeny tiny, only had a stand up shower not a full bath, no room service and the restaurant attacehd to the hotel is only open on weekends???? and when something dropped behind my bed and i went t reach for it, i saw multiple mouse traps. I couldn't sleep good for the rest of the night, I felt dirty.

"Very Nice hotel"
This is a very clean and nice hotel, I will use it again when I'm back to NY,
"Not what I expected."
Bathroom wasn't as clean as I wanted it to be. Price was a bit high for the location because it's located in bad neighborhood. The shuttle is good. breakfast was okay but the eggs were not real eggs and meat they provided seemed not real meat.

Other then one elevation out of service I enjoyed my stay
"NYC Getaway"
Although the hotel was located in a rather busy area...the price was very reasonable and access to NYC was very convenient. It's about a 5-10min walk to the shuttle, but worth it for the price. The daily hot breakfast was a plus. The elevators on the other hand was a pain. Because of repairs, only 1 out of 2 were working :( The hotel was clean, but […] i didn't like the fact that housekeeping would turn off the A/C when they cleaned my room. i usually like to come back to a nice, cool room. Instead, i'd come back to a warm, stuffy room. Other than that, the staff was great. Would stay again! Read more
"Great Accomodations for Low Price!!"
Very nice hotel only 15minutes from Times Square. Manhattan access for "low" New Jersey prices. The staff was curteous, the rooms were spacious and clean, free wireless internet, and the complmentary breakfast bar offered a huge variety of hot and cold choices! We especially liked the "perk" of free-parking.....something that would be unheard of at […] a comparable Manhattan hotel. The overall neighborhood is not very attractive but if your goal is to stay in a nice hotel with easy access to Manhattan, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel!!! We will definitely make this our "first choice" the next time we travel to the Big Apple!! Read more

"Almost"
The employee's were very nice, and welcoming. The room was nice, and clean, but the bathroom had a funny smell. There was only one elevator working, and from what I can tell it has been down for a bit. The Continental Breakfast horrible, eggs very watery, biscuits hard as rocks, pancake machine non-working. Truly a shame, because this hotel is positioned […] nicely next to NyC, and if it fixes these little issues, could be a great value. Read more
"Will be better once both elevators are operational"
If you have more than one person be sure to get an executive room. The regular rooms are quite cramped. The hotel does not have their own shuttle option as advertised and would not explain the shuttle to me over the phone. When we got there transportation was a bit confusing. One of the elevators was out of service and had been for a while. The other […] was slow and small. I ended up taking the stairs quite a bit. Breakfast was good and the bed was comfortable. This hotel is a good option for able bodied high school/college students with low budgets traveling to/from NYC and not spending a lot of time in the hotel/room. Read more

"HIEX"
Nice hotel, great location if you are looking to be out of NYC, but close enough to get there quickly. Lincoln Tunnel right there. Only complaint is that the hotel is loud. You can hear doors closing all over the place and the streets outside are loud. For a 1 or 2 night stay, this place is great.
Surprised that no one vacuumed the room during cleaning. But other than that, everything was perfect
The hotel's website made it seem like it was easy to get to the city. I strongly disagree.
"Very convenient"
Not a very nice/best neighborhood but very convenient to get to manhattan/time square by shuttle bus(3$ one way)and use the subway anywhere else from there. Breakfast is typical like in any hotel in this star catogery, same with cleanliness. The room was a little small but enough to get a good night sleep after all day walking the streets of NYC.
"Hotel personnel should NEVER yell at Customers"
I came in late on a Thursday night to this hotel. I went up to the front desk and asked for a wake up call. I was then yelled at by the desk person, stating he had been trying to get a hold of me all day. ( we were in the city until late). I asked what this was about and he yelled at me that I didn't have a reservation for tonight and that my room had […] been cleaned and my luggage was DOUBLE locked out. I had no idea what he meant. until I got my reservation number and found out that it was MY mistake. I admitted my mistake and apologized. He then pointed a finger at me and said YES you made the mistake. i didn't even know if I had a room for the night. I told him he frightened me by all this ( yelling) and my heart was racing. but no apology given. oh, and he also yelled at my brother. I did get my room back but had to pay $63.00 more than the other nights. I would NEVER stay here again Read more
