We were pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The hotel was just as nice as it appeared in the pictures. Nice breakfast, right next door to a Wendy's restaurant (which was a life saver because we stayed out so late that all the restaurants we tried were closed!)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel near New York City"
The hotel is situated in an odd location to the street so there isn't a direct left turn coming off of the main street. Checkin and checkout was fast and the desk attendant provided adequate customer service. The room, which in my view is the most important part of the hotel stay was absolutely great. Clean, updated, comfortable bed and quiet. Internet […] wasn't great, and cut out a lot. Not real close to many fine dining locations and travel in this area isn't the easiest but pretty close to some fast food and there is a restaurant attached if you didn't want to travel. Located a hop jump from Lincoln Tunnel so you can be in NYC within a few minutes barring traffic. Breakfast was okay, it was very busy and the ladies tried to keep up with the demand of the guests but they struggled a bit. A lot of options and quality was okay for a hotel provided breakfast. Overall, I would definately stay here again if I am in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great place to stay with a car for NYC"
The hotel staff was super helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast, with every food imaginable. The pool was a treat and well maintained. The room had a refrigerator and coffee maker, always a good thing. The shuttle service, for a reasonable price, into the city was awesome and free parking!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"bad location for public transit access to NYC"
The front desk gentleman was friendly, and the rooms were comfortable (however could use a face lift as some of the furniture pieces were in disrepair and held together with tape. The hotel however is in a terrible location, seems to be a seedy area around hotel area, it does have easy access to Lincoln Tunnel if you are comfortable driving to and from […] NYC with your own car, (and finding parking over in NYC is not easy either) however if not, the shuttle bus that the hotel uses, does not make early morning trips before 8am. Without early morning service, you will be stuck paying for a taxi, walking up very steep hills/roads to catch other public transit, or as we ended up driving our car to a PATH location to catch a train to and from NYC at the cost of $30.00 per day parking plus train costs. Next time I would either pay the additional money to stay in NYC or find a hotel closer to the PATH stations in New Jersey--on a side note the Hobokan area near the water was a great area to hang out, with fantastic views of NYC Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was not to impress with the kindness of the staff, however I was happy with my stay. The location of the hotel is great when you are traveling to New York city, is about 15 min from the 42nd St (without traffic). The breakfast was great! I was impressed with the quality and the different options that are provided. The rooms are small but we only went […] to the hotel to sleep, i found the bed comfortable the bathroom and the room overall were clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked a queen suite and couldnt have been happier. The only "issue" was the small fridge in the room did not get anything cold, only cool. There isnt an adjustment knob to turn it up. Other than that the location was perfect and the breakfast was outstanding. Plan on staying here again in the fall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy to get to Nyc"
It was a nice place to stay easy to get to Nyc. Great pool area for kids.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a good time. The front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was a great help getting us started before we heading towards the city. I would come here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient to the city. Very accomodating."
Great experience. Breakfast was wonderful. Rooms very clean and neat.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible house keeping!"
I think the housekeeping was horrible at this hotel. They did not get to the room until late afternoon each day and then afterwards, we were walked in on 4 times! They need a system to know what rooms are done and what rooms are not.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good looking w old feeling"
This hotel looks nice from outside but it is the old Palace Hotel. The rooms have been remodeled but they are tiny inside, you can barely fit your lugage anywhere. The hotel staff was nice, they try hard to make your stay pleasant. It is New Jersey but still you can find a newer hotel about 5 miles in Secaucus. Breakfast is good but it was crowdy and […] you have to stay in line to get what you want. The bathroom did not a place to put the soap in the bathtub. For one or two people rooms might be ok. Our stay was very enjoyable and served our needs perfectly. Breakfast was very nice with lots of sitting area. Room was large and clean. Only complaint was that the pool was freezing and this was the end of June.Genuine Expedia guest review
close to newyork. but still you have to pay pretty big money to get to manhattan. and the reservation of taxi was gone with no reason so i had to do it again. almost i loose another tour appointment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to NYC"
Great location with convenient bus transportation to the city. Bus was late a few times but otherwise fine. Hotel was very nice and clean. Only complaint was there were only 2 tiny elevators. Had to take stairs most of time and we were on 4th floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not for claustrophobics"
Greeted by gum chewing staff. Tried to reserve a roll away bed and was told by rude staff that I couldn't. Was told about a bus service into NYC that ran every 1.5 hours for $12 round trip each. Walked around the block and found a service that ran constantly for $6. "O.K place but not good for Holiday Inn"
It is O.K place to stay. The hotel staff was polite and nice. However the place is bit old and cramped. There is no laundry facility which is a great inconvenience if you are staying with children. The nearby area is bit rundown. The breakfast was reasonable and good. If you are planning on visiting places in Manhattan, plan on spending 45 minutes in […] traffic each way. "mold in bathtub"
When I get in to my room, I smelled strong scent of molds. There were molds in bathtub, too. It wasn't clean, bathroom was stinky. Also, WiFi speed was so slow, so we had to move computer near the door to get higher speed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is difficult to pack in front of the hotel and to get into the street from the back of the hotel. Down hill packing and uphill getting out. Automatic cars tend to slide back causing accident.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very close to NYC"
We chose this hotel due to the proximity to NYC. Also it didn't bust our budget! We were there 2 nights, the staff was very accomodating and our room was very comfortable. "Clean and decent hotel, bad location"
We stayed here for 4 nights on a recent trip to NYC. In the future, we will stay in Manhattan. This hotel was clean and the staff was generally very nice (although language barrier was an issue at times and I consider myself very capable of communicating with people with accents normally), but the location is inconvenient. I think a lot of people stay […] here because of the shuttle into Times Square, but the shuttle is expensive compared to public transportation and really poorly organized (note: the shuttle is not affiliated with the hotel; it's a separate private company that runs it). The neighborhood around the hotel is terrible and not safe enough to walk around or take public transportation in at night. The free breakfast was fairly decent. I would stay here again if it were in a better location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed here because it was cheaper than staying in NYC & there was shuttle service to time square for $12 round trip a day. The shuttle service wasn't part of the hotel & the bus was basically an old city bus (or a small older Days Inn shuttle), but it served it purpose & felt safe. The drop off location in Time Square was ideal - easy to find & […] a safe place to wait to catch the shuttle. Their ticket system was basically pay on board & they wrote your name on a return sheet of paper, but it worked. As for the hotel, it was clean, modern, and nice. The breakfast was typically continental - nothing great, but for inclusive you can't complain. The staff in the breakfast area weren't the friendliest, but I might be unfriendly if I had to deal with hungry people all morning, too. The tables needed wiping off. They didn't do a good job in keeping them clean, but overall it wasn't bad. The front desk staff was friendly. There wasn't much within walking distancing except a bar/restaurant right outside that we didn't go to. In fact, being located off a busy street/highway, there wasn't anyplace to walk to. However, our purpose was just a place to stay after days in NYC, so we had no need to leave the hotel. We did order great delivery Italian food one night. The pool closed at 9 which I thought was early & it was outdoors. The room was great - relaxing - clean - modern. It (North Bergen, NJ) was a great choice if you can't find a reasonable nice hotel in the city or are new to NYC and aren't sure where to stay in the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here with my wife because I respect this chain of hotels. Apart from that, I had business to conduct in NY, and compared to the quality and prices in NY, this hotel was an excellent bargain, also being just outside Manhattan.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Alternative to staying in New York City"
Convenient location. Shuttle to NYC is costly, but ran at favorable times. Surrounding location was sketchy, wouldn't have wanted to walk around. Beds were comfortable. Room didn't get cold enough with air at highest setting. Bathroom was tiny but updated. Line of mold surrounding tub. Breakfast was adequate. Pool area was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location and price for the location."

"Don't Ask For Directions at the Front Desk"
We stayed here because it was close to Liberty State Park and I read that it was quicker and easier to access Statue of Liberty from there than from Battery Park in Manhatten. The 2 people at the Front desk told me they had no idea how to get there? Really? One wrong turn and we were 15 miles the wrong way. Have fun doing a U-Turn in New Jersey. Luckily, […] State Trooper felt sorry for my kids and just gave me a warning. Good hotels have pre-printed directions. Run down looking neighborhood. On a positive note, the Middle Eastern restaurant next door was excellent! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dirty with holes in the walls, but great breakfast"
The breakfast was fantastice. The bathroom was very dirty with dirt caked in the corners. There was holes in the walls where things used to hang. Some of the holes had a squirt of something to plug them bu that hung out of the holes. I have photos to back up these statements. The outdoor swimming pool was incredible but it took you a couple hours to […] find it. There were no signs to help locate it, you wandered around trying to find it. The cleaning staff was no help because none of them spoke english. We needed a role-awy bed. We had to call twice to get it even though I told them when I made the reservations and at checkin. Then we had to call two more times to get sheets, blanket and pillow. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Perfect place to stay for an inexpensive trip to the big city. Shuttle service is convenient. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was terrific. Lots of choices and plenty of room for all the guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed here for 3 days for our visit to NYC. Nice hotel with close proximity to the city- 20 minutes or so to Times Square on the shuttle. Shuttle bus was convenient and definitely an experience all in itself. Hotel staff nice. Sam at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Not much around the hotel within walking distance but we were there […] for the city so wasn't an issue for us. Overall it was perfect for our needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good points - the beds were clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was spacious and had lots of both hot and cold options. There is an outdoor swimming pool that is well maintained. The hotel is not too far from Newark airport. Weak points - the rooms were small, WIFI and cable TV services were inconsistent, and the room doors close loudly. One tip […] - walk to the Super 8 to catch one of many vans/shuttles into Manhattan. It is $3 into the city, and with traffic the ride took about 45 minutes. Then, go to terminal 51 at the Port Authority, buy tickets ($2.50), and ride back to North Bergen (be sure you have an idea where to get off the bus and tell the driver when you want to stop - it will be on Kennedy, down the street from Super 8 and about a 10 minute walk from Holiday Inn Express. The neighborhood is safe enough during the day, but I would avoid walking alone after dark. The other option is to pay $14 round trip for a shuttle that picks up and drops off at the hotel, but the times are limited for this service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Took the kids into the city and we had a blast!!!"
The hotel was easy to find and we were glad we didn't have to drive directly into the city because parking can be a nightmare. Our room was large enough to accommodate our family of five. The room was clean; the breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and the shuttle was very convenient. The shuttle charges $12 round trip and leaves you right in […] the heart of NYC, Time Square and also picks you up there too. We loved having direct transportation from to and from our hotel. We got around the city by using the subway. We’ll definitely stay here again, we had a great time in the city and a comfortable nights stay followed by hot breakfast. "Nice enough hotel...."
There was a shuttle that went into NYC several times daily. For $12per day round trip. Which can add up if you have your entire family. An experience I won't likely forget, ever. It's a mad, mad, mad rush to get everywhere, even onto the shuttle. I'm not sure how to otherwise get into the city. The staff was never really forthcoming with that information. […] The hotel stay was a pleasant enough experience. The staff was pretty nice. We only had one incident while staying there. One of my son's shopping bags went missing and they suggested that he crawl into the dumpster to see if it had been accidentally thrown away. Now that's unacceptable!!! Would I stay there again, knowing what I know now, probably not. Not because of the service, but more so the location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good Economical Hotel"
My wife and I decided to stay in NJ because it was so expensive in NY. We were very satisfied with the hotel, and there was a shuttle service to NY for only $7 per person. We made a wise choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very rude and unfriendly hotel staff"
The hotel staff was very unfriendly and rude. I had a booking for night of 4th June and again for 6th-10th. Over phone, the hotel staff had agreed to let us keep the luggage in locker room on 5th. I was clearly told that this facility is available and free. However on reaching there they backed out. They said that this cannot be allowed!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, great breakfast, no draped windows"
My title says all. Room was good, location great, free breakfast excellent but, beds too high, light from window all night, and rays early morning. Drapes do not cover windows which is strange. "Nice hotel in Jersey"
The stay was nice. I would return if it was the best option. $18 cab ride to the seacaucus junction train station. $25 ride to the Hoboken Path train. Traffic is pretty rough in the am and early evening hours. Beinfg from out of town we didn't really understand that and the traffic really slowed us down. Room was very clean and staff was nice, but it […] did not seem like we could get the room cold enough. We only stayed one night. Breakfast was good. All around good hotel to stay in if you are doing stuff in jersey, but if you are going to spend a lot of time in Manhattan just get a hotel room in manhattan or in one of the other boroughs to use the subway system.
