Not a pleasant area with people arguing outside etc. Room had funky smell...would not go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room smelled so bad and was dirty. I never want to go again. AWFUL!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The first night, the sheets smelled musty, which made it clear to me that they were not put fresh that day. The second night I could tell that they were changed, but the coffee maker didn't work. Also the towels were too thin and not fresh smelling. TV had bad reception. Getting to my room, I noticed that the outside hallways could have been cleaner […] and needed a new coat of paint. Overall, I am sorry to say, I was disappointed. The price was right but I expected a cleaner hotel/room for a location close to DC. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Sleepless in Silver Spring"
When we arrived to check-in we were helped by a pleasant desk clerk; however he was behind a protective anti-theft window, which was not a welcoming feature. We had booked a non-smoking room. The hallway wreaked so heavily of smoke and air freshener that it was choking. Our room was the same. The light blocking curtain did not fully cover the window […] area, so the orange glow of mercury vapor lights engulfed the head portion of one of the beds. There was absolutely no noise insulation between rooms so we got virtually no sleep. In the neighboring room there were 2 men who spent the entire night talking, ranting, yelling, arguing, and banging. When we left at 7:30 am they were still at it. I booked thru Expedia. If there was a way to get my money back I would. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Website was deceiving"
The hotel was in a good location about 5 blocks from the Red line Metro to DC in Silver Spring. The room on the other hand was not to my satisfaction. On the website the rooms look very nice and clean and upgraded, but at least the room we stayed in was not updated. The rug looked old. The walls had cracks and chips on them. The pillows were worn out. […] The bed cover looked like it has not been washed in a few years. The surrounding area is going through a lot of construction so it looked like the hotel was full of construction guys. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Desired Location, Overall Fair Stay"
I loved that the location was very ideal to my desired meeting location...about 15 minutes away! However, I did not like the shabbiness of the hotel (i.e., run-down looking inside of hotel, piping for shower exposed, and overall grungy appearance). Nevertheless, the hotel staff were hospitable and brought items when asked (with the exception of the […] coffee pot that we never received). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"You get exactly whay you pay for"
The room in general, the room was good. The things that were not perfect was the bathroom room that dragged on the floor and didn't close properly and not all cable channels came in clear on the televisionGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"interior drapes and bed spread"
Drab drapes and bedspread - did not match. Important to a woman. Otherwise ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room smelled like smoke with a chemical smell over it. Plus burn holes in the blanket on bed. Hotel needs a major overhaul. Pot smoking neighbors & sketchy people hanging around. Glass barriers at desk at check in. Not a recommended hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap hotel in safe, welll connected location"
The hotel room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff (especially the cleaning staff) was very nice. It was 10 minutes by foot to the Silver Spring metro station and close to a supermarket. There are a lot of ethnic restaurants in the surrounding area too. The neighborhood was very quiet and pretty safe, even by night. I would definitely stay […] there again if I went to DC. The only bad thing I can think of is that I had some friends over one time and they said it smelled like smoke but I didn't really notice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fine, practical and affordable"
I read many bad reviews after booking this room for my husband. Oops... So, I just told him to be prepared and that he might need to have extra socks and his own pillow & sheets. He was pleasantly surprised. He received a room with new carpet and he said his room was clean. The front desk staff was courteous. The room was quiet. The hotel was ideally […] situated to where he was going - and to DC without having to pay the big city prices. He enjoyed the shuttle during operating hours. The neighborhood was okay. Not the best but he felt safe enough. Overall, he got what he paid for and like I said was pleasantly surprised. I don't know that I'd go there for a romantic getaway :-) but it was exactly what he was looking for. An inexpensive, quiet, clean place to lay his head for two nights. "Day's Inn I did not like it."
I did not like the Days Inn. I traveled for business purposes and the desk was too small, the heater was unplugged and the electrical outlet that was designed for the heater was loose from the wall and looked unsafe. The mattress on the bed was yuckky!!!! and the room location really did not feel safe. On the bright side ... the room was clean, the […] towels were clean, the lock on the door did work and it was relatively quiet except for a few noisy people coming in and out of their rooms. I did have a good night sleep though. The TV worked fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well, my 8 year old liked it..."
My 8 year old came home and enthusiastically gave this report of the motel room she shared with her siblings and father: "The room was really cold! And there were no extra blankets. And just out side our window was a huge roof, as big as an ice skating rink. It was really cool!" Her older sister chimed in that when they got there, they had to wait a […] while because the manager was asleep. I went downstairs and said to my husband, " I see I signed you up for a dump." Absolutely disgustingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was not expecting much as far as breakfast and size of the room since I was going to see family. I didnt expect the condition of the tub and toilet paper holder. It was unclear if it was dirty or poorly maintained. I ended up showering at my family's house didnt feel comfortable enough to chance it. Upon check in the toilet paper roll was less than […] a quarter left was not concerned the first night since we got in so late and left fairly early. Took for granted that when housekeeping came in the AM they would replenish the roll. Upon arrival late the next night the same roll was there even than less1/4 left. Called front desk, which took additional time for someone to pick up and was told I have to come and get a roll. which required me to get dressed and go to the front desk as we werent in the same building as customer serivce. "Horrible Customer Service"
When I arrived at the hotel I was told that the room I had reserved was was no longer available.I offered a smaller bed in a non-smoking room which smelled like WEED and cigar smoke. "Days Inn - Silver Spring"
Lovely and professional people, but the building itself needs a big overhaul. I don't care about a fancy building, but the showers need to be repaired, the cracks in the ceiling need to be fixed, the wallpaper needs to be redone, and so on. The hotel was old and is not well maintained. The room was dingy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"DO it for the price, not the quality"
The hotel was kind of gross. I never went without socks, as the whole thing was just kind of dingy--bits of wrapper and dust in every possible nook. However, I never saw signs of vermin: no mice, bugs, etc. The hotel did the job (place to sleep in walking distance of the metro station), but nothing more. Don't bring a girl here. :)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Days Inn Silver Springs"
A good price for the area BUT parking is terrible, Towels are in short supply carpet is strangely damp (beds are comfortable) The worst is the outdoor metal stairs--up to 3 floor climb and very slipery in the rain. Not for the faint of heart.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel - Silver Spring MD"
A bit pricy given the motel is a bit shabby - rugs a bit worn, shower pressure weak, water not very worn, skimpy towels, location hard to get to. Not what I expect from Days Inn chain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sketchy and dirty"
Don't use this hotel unless you want a cheap night in a dirty room. The locks barely worked and I got a smoking room instead of a nonsmoking room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

this hotel is falling apart literally. Electrical outlets come out of the wall, any hangers will drop down once you hang a shirt on it. Frightening. Looks like a place just minutes before demolition. Be aware.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Days Inn - Not a Nice Place to Stay"
The hotel staff were not very friendly, customer service was not good. The rooms were horrible, the carpet was so dirty had to wear shoes all the time. The showee curtain was too small so water was all over the floor. They didn't clean the rooms or offer clean towels. I hope this location does not represent the entire Days Inn hotel chain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Price was right, and the location"
I booked this hotel based on location and price, and was not disappointed in either. I did not expect too much, and got about what I expected. The room was adequate, though could have been cleaner. There were some water stains and poorly done patches on the ceilings, but no actual leaks. The non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke . . . really the […] only thing that actively bothered me at all. The staff at the desk were uniformly very pleasant. I was visiting family. "dirty and old"
This hotel is very, very dirty. I even felt like the bed linens were dirty too. There is no way to control the air conditioning in the room. The phone kept ringing on the hour all night long. I finally unplugged it. I did not have anyone come by and wake me like they promised. To get ice for your room, you have to go over to a Subway Restaurant (go […] figure) and ask for it. All room rate is pre paid. This place is disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE, especially if you have kids. VERY,VERY dirty and unkept. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"you get what you pay for"
we booked because it is affordable for DC area. according to google maps, it is 10 miles away from the National Mall (on side street). What sold it for me is that it is close to Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Little do i know that i will be driving through the seedy part of DC. If you take I-495, it is time consuming and far.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay but needs renovation"
The room is okay and functional but the overall condition is poor with peeling paint, rust on doors, shower cabinet collapsing, lights not working and other quality issues like ants. It is typical for this type of hotel in this neighborhood which borders on the high crime area of Washington DC. The worst part for me was the carpets are just filthy. […] You must have shower shoes just to go from the bed to the bathroom otherwise your feet will be black. The carpets are very dirty and badly need cleaning. Then I had the misfortune to have the hotel desk call me at 0130 in the morning to tell me I was making too much noise but I had been sleeping and it was another room banging on the walls and drunks screaming outside. Again, in this neighborhood that is expected. Think highly ethic and very low class. I stay here routinely for its proximity to Silver Spring and relatively low costbut the quality has dropped to a point that it is a "no tell motel". Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I had reservations for 3 nights. The first night, I had to stay in a smoking room because I was told they were oversold. They said they only needed to guarantee a room not what you reserved. The room smelled like mold. The carpet was damp and dirty, which was probably the cause. The ceiling had mold growing on it. This place was very inexpensive for being near Washington, DC. This is the first Days Inn that I stayed at not offering free breakfast. The clerk simpy refered me to a subway across the street ... anyways. When mentioning the hotel to others they said it used to be in a shady neighborhood, but now it seems fine (lots of new construction). Oh, and the parkign lot was full, I had to park at a metered spot (it starts […] costing at 7 AM, but that means you have to be up ...). The room was fine, although the hallway carpeting had clearly seen better days. I only booked this hotel since I was late and everything else was taken due to the US Open Golf tournament that week.
