Did royal service which is nice if you don't have kids... Way more secluded, quiet, and less crowded... The butler service is whatever the whole Royal service concept is good in theory but flawed in staff execution... I used my butler for dinner reservations and steaming my clothes for the wedding other than that he was nowhere to be found...

"Beautiful hotel with great staff!"
Overall everything was fantastic! The only annoying part was trying to get reservations for dinner which you need or else stuck eating at the buffet pretty much. No same day reservations available. We had to make reservations 48hrs in advance to get into a restaurant for dinner which was hard since our days weren't really planned and we left the resort for a lot of day trips. They should consider more options without a reservation for dinner even if there is a 30-45 min wait.

"Nice big hotel very roomy"
I stayed at this hotel in 2006 it was the (Grand Melia) then very nice place very good service so I didn't think twice to go there again and it was still very nice but this time there was no food at the pool bar last time it was great to seat at pool bar have drinks and food like shrimp cocktails burgers ect. Not this time also now they close it at 6:00 pm way to early everybody didn't like it, it didn't get dark till 8:00pm but still a great place to stay!

My son and I spend 5 nights at the resort. Our room was perfect , staff amazing , great service, great entertainment! My expectations was exceeded! Hospitality and service was as good as Ritz. "Nice vacation"
Staff is nice. The waiters are friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. The only problem was that one room had lots of flying ants. The room was fumigated and cleaned. The restaurants had good food and the outdoor snack bar staff always had food ready for patrons. The service is excellent.

Best place ever for family vacation. Friendly staff and good food.Only problem was that door lock wasn't working so they gave us another room.They were courteous and friendly. "Excellent value."
When we arrived at the hotel Felipe met us at the shuttle, and escorted us to check in then brought our bags to our room. Excellent start to our stay. He gave us an great introduction to the property. The food was very good, and our waiter Pasqual and Guillermo offer excellent customer service. Make sure you go to Mole for dinner. Food was awesome. The only negative it was hard to get an lounge chair at the pool unless you woke up at daylight. We ended up renting an day bed for two days. It was worth it. Overall an great experience at an Melia resort. We would definitely come back again!!!!!!

"Nice family vacation"
The hotel was exactly what I'd expected. The personal concierge service was a nice surprise. Natalia our concierge made all our dinner reservations and she took care of anything we needed through out our stay. Freddy the activity organizer was also very attentive and nice. The only negative things were the erosion at the beach and all the seaweed, but it was expected because we were told that there was a bad storm a few days before we arrived. We changed rooms because we wanted a double bed and the second room wasn't as well maintained as the first one, but nothing really horrible. Overall, it was a great experience.

"Not such great service"
When encountering a problem with service or reservations, staff was not kind nor apologetic nor quick to resolve it. Having stayed at other facilities with much better service I was truly disappointed. Staff was not completely informative of the nature of each tour we booked, nor on how to locate the Bali beds we had reserved.

"Great hotel, but could be better"
Overall, this hotel is excellent. This was my 7th trip to Cancun so I opted to stay at this hotel in particular because of the reviews of the food and service. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed when I checked-in and the room I booked was not available. My reservation was for a Royal Service Luxury Ocean view Junior Suite with a king bed and private balcony. The only room available upon check in was with 2 double bed and the room I reserved would not be available for 2 more days. So they put us in room 5008 which was on the ground floor (no private balcony). Nice room overall, but it was not what I reserved. After 2 nights, we were moved to room 5011. Again, no private balcony with an adjoining room and the tv did not work. We finally ended up in room 5614 which was finally perfect. I'm not typically one to write a bad review, but when I had reservations for months in advance and am not provided what I paid for, I feel disappointed. *Tip: make dinner reservations at all the restaurants as they will not seat you even if they appear empty. The Market Grill had the best options for us. Overall, this hotel is very nice. Service was polite, food and drink were great for an all-inclusive, and very clean. I just wish the room I reserved was the one I was provided to begin with. I may opt to stay elsewhere next time.

"Excellent time in Royal Service and Beyond"
We are very happy to have upgraded to Royal Service and found the added price modest in relation to what it entailed. We had a wonderful Butler named Pedro and lovely concierges named Leticia and Mayte. The dining and pool service exclusive to Royal Service was great, and Eddie and Edier were standouts. The broader dining experience throughout the hotel was fun, and our two favorites were Vento (with a particularly good waiter Reuben) and Bana (where our waiter Darwin) was outstanding.

"Loved our stay!!!"
We very muched enjoyed our stay!! We had an awesome room view of the ocean!! My kids also had a good time.. The only thing is the room service at night was a little grumpy. "First time in Cancun."
Paradisus was a great place to spend my first Cancun vacation. Decent food, except the only restaurant I was able to get into was Mole restaurant. The buffet was way better. Only real complaint was that my dad wanted to hear Mexican music while in Mexico , we got tired of the techno music by the beach all day long. I truly recommend it to everyone. All staff was friendly and made it their job to keep you happy. Will come back next year.

"Family friendly all inclusive"
Overall this was a nice stay and we enjoyed it with several other families. Pros: Excellent beach, nice huts on the beach and surf was awesome Pool is large and the swim up bar is fun Coco's bar is a chillax spot to enjoy the gorgeous beach and a drink Buffet is OK for vegetarian but what made it GOOD was all the salsas and sauces to flavor stuff up Overall service is good; staff is not proactive but when you ask they deliver with grace Nightly shows are pretty good and family friendly Cons: Sit down restaurants had pretty bad food for vegetarians; Asian restaurant was the exception, really good Shower pressure was a challenge

"Amazing stay"
We just got back from our 4 days stay and wish we stayed longer. We booked the junior suite lagoon view and got upgraded to oceanview which was incredible. The place was clean and loved the decor. We enjoyed eating dinner at their different restaurants but it took a little patience reserving the day before. The food at Fuego was amazing and most of the staff are very nice and goes out of their way to accomodate your needs. The only bad thing was when we just arrived this lady was bugging us to sit at their timeshare presentation and when we would leave the hotel to explore the downtown she thought that we were going to another hotel for their timeshare presentation and was bugging us to show her our ticket. However that was just at the beginning and it never happened again. Overall We will definitely be back!

"Very nice as long as it doesn't rain."
This is an exotic and very nice hotel, I did a lot of research before choosing Paradisus. However, the last day I was staying there it was raining like crazy, and the rain leaked into to half of the room. I had to move all my private belongings over to the other half of the room. I understand it doesn't rain that much in Cancun, but a building should not leak. I spoke with several other people, and it was the same thing. Note, the weather was really bad! Another thing, staff knowing about this.. there was no apologizes and not any compensation what so ever.. I guess it is what it is. If it wasn't for the rain, this hotel is awesome!

"Nice hotel, great service and great ambiance!!"
The airport was about 20 minutes to the hotel. During check in was welcome with a cold drink, because it was hot. They took me to a tour of the resort different choices of restaurant and activities. When you go for dinner, they ask you if you are lergic to any foods. They have top of the line liquor and you can get top of the line exclusive service such as a butler. You do not have to lift up a finger and is kids friendly. They have a lot acitivities for the kids if you want a me time during the day or evening. I highly recommend this resort if you want to go with family, couple, friends or alone!

The hotel room was clean and comfortable which was a great thing. Especially since it rained non stop for 2 full days so we had to spend alot of time in our room. the pool and the beach was very nice. Traveled with a 3 year soon to be 4 and they have 2 kids rooms. 1) for babies to 5 and 2) is 5 and up - the baby room is for babies -- there's nothing for a 3 yr old or older to do - they need to add more age appropriate toys for them. My child was bored and we couldn't even leave her in there cause it wasn't anything to do - no tables, crayons, TV, dolls, etc in there for them. Tons of stuff for the infants and babies who can walk. It rained alot and water was dripping from the ceiling everywhere. Puddles all over the floors everywhere. Luckily it doesn't rain much there but they need to get that fixed. The pool games were really fun -- everyone had a great time at the pool. The Food -- we couldn't find anything on the buffet that we enjoyed. The restaurants that required a reservation are a must. We loved the nightly entertainment but were surprised it wasnt' in a theatre like most all-inclusives. It was basically in the middle of the bar on the floor - so seating was terrible. You have to get there early to get a seat. Every night the shows were great they only last 30 minutes and we wish they were much longer because after that it wasn't anything to do when traveling with a kid.

"Paradisus Cancun Resort Review - June 2015"
My family and I just concluded our second visit to Cancun and stayed at the Paradisus for the first time. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. However, the cleaning crew left more to be desired as they were inefficient and never stocked the correct number of towels throughout our visit (8 days). Calls to the front desk had to be made and then the issue was resolved. The food was excellent, with a nice variety of restaurants and cuisines. It was helpful to have an Expedia office within the hotel. We were able to easily coordinate our private van accommodation and Chichen Itza activity through the Expedia office. The daily shows at the lounge area were entertaining, however the area is very compact compared to our experience at another hotel in Cancun which had a dedicated theatre which made for a better experience. Overall, I would say we had a good experience and would recommend this hotel to others.

We arrived on a day it was raining. There were buckets all over. So many leaks in the place. House keeping not so good - bascially only made your bed. Had to ask for clean towels. Food was ok. The best place to eat was at the Market Grill. Booked an excursion with BD Travel inside resort - guy lied about times and when asked about it he was just like oh well. Would i stay here again? Probably not. It was nice but not great. Ive read lots of reviews saying it was one of top ten places to stay in Cancun. I dont see why.

Unfortunately for us tropical storm Bill hit day two of our five day vacation to Paradisus. For 48 hours 40-50 mph winds pushed rain through our balcony door and onto the floor of our room. At in point about 80% of iur floor was covered in about 1/8" of water. In the common areas of the hotel water dripped from the ceiling EVERYWHERE. In defense of Paradisus we spoke to several couples who were staying at other properties and they all had similar experiences. Had Bill not hit while we were there we probably would have had no idea of the maintenance issues the property needs to address and our experience would have been much better. Paint needs to be refreshed and the planter boxes on the balconies were empty except for the stumps of whatever had been growing in them at one time. Now for the positives, the staff was amazing. I've never seen hotel staff work so hard as they did during the storm. When we would call the front desk for more towels to soak the water from our floor someone was usually at our door within minutes. Plenty of scheduled activities if you wanted to partake but not too hard to find a quiet place away from the action as well. Food was pretty good and again, the wait staff were terrific. Overall, the property is probably overrated at 4.6. Probably more realistically a solid 4 but could easily be a 4.6 or better with a refresh.

"paradisus cancun"
Overall it was a great stay. Beautiful, modern looking, and clean hotel. All a la carts were good. Foods were good. Love the food at Bana (Japanese) and Vento (Mediterranean). Service was excellent. Room was comfortable. Housekeeper came twice a day. Beach and pools were beautiful. The only negative is there was too much seaweeds and none of the hotels, not just Paradisus, cleaned them. Hotels in Punta Cana tried hard to remove them every morning but not the hotels in Cancun. I would come to this hotel again though.

"Rained out"
Went for our 20 year wedding anniversary. The staff was exceptional and loved the royal service. the Expedia reps in the hotel were also very helpful with booking some excursions and eventually refunding them because of the storms. We only had two days of sun on the beach so we had to get creative with our time. All of the restaurants were excellent. Especially Mole, went there three times. The only bad thing was all the water leaking into our two rooms, had to move once because the patio door wouldn't shut all the way so the wind howled through it so bad you couldn't sleep. Also the ac couldn't keep up with the all of the hot air that blew in. the building definitely needs some maintenance on the patio doors and roof. It has to flood in every time it rains. Again, the staff was excellent though. They were always there with towels and a squeegee to clean up and offering to move you to a different room. I would still stay here again no problem.

Our stay at the paradisus resort was amazing. The resort is breathtaking and what really stood out to us was the excellent service from all the staff, always greeting us with a smile and asking how our day was going. Special shout to all the waiters from Naos, they always had us laughing and really took care of us

"Excellent vacation"
Amazing hotel and service. Excellent scenary and decoration. Very clean. Except that they want to make you listen to a speech to buy time share and not too happe with the food. Everything else was great.

"Beautiful hotel but understaffed"
The hotel was gorgeous. Our room was very nice except that there was an ac leak and we told the staff and it was not fixed. The lobby felt cramped, there was not enough sitting space. People had to stand outside to see nightly shows. The entertainment staff not as good as other hotels we have been to.

"Highly over rated hotel, lack of entertainment"
From our arrival, the hotel had my name wrong, i booked through expedia and having gold vip acces. The hotel had the responsavility to explain the advantages but did not. Its listed as vip expedia access hotel. Our room was leaking tremendous amount of water from the ac to the floor,slip hazard was always there, i reported it and was not fixed. Their loby is so uncomfortable no room to seat.

"Nice hotel on a nice strip of beach"
No complaints about the physical environment. My issues with the hotel were there weren't enough restaurants or size of them to accommodate the amount of hotel guest. So you had to make reservations WAY in advance in order to secure a table. Not the most convenient thing to do when you want to do things on the fly. Compared to Moon Palace the restaurants here did not beat expectations. During the lunch and brunch hour you either have the buffet of the market grill outdoors. Food was ok nothing terrible and totally edible but again not a ton of choices. The day pass policy at Paradisus was horrible. I had family at moon palace and it cost me 102 to go over there with all inclusive. I wanted them to try the Paradisus and was willing to purchase them what I had thought was an 85 dollar day pass but that is only for 9-6. None of the dinner restaurants open until 6 you need a night pass for another 85 from 6-2am. Rediculous! So they didnt want my extra 500 that I was willing to shell out if they had a more fair day pass. So instead two of us went to moon palace twice and they got my money. Moon Palace is great only that the beach is not so great there, but the resort itself is excellent and the restaurants are really first class. Try the Brazilian place and ask for Carlos/Alan to be your server, you can't go wrong!

"Excellent hotel & food."
The hotel is meticulously maintained, the food was quite good for an all-inclusive resort, the hotel rooms are very nice and in great condition. Some of the staff go above and beyond to ensure that you are having the best possible experience while some of them could use a lesson in customer service. It's a great hotel for families, though some of the staff in the kids club I wasn't crazy about. Overall the staff is very good, but some bad folks can ruin the reputation of the hotel.
