Inn At The Convention Center - Portland

This hotel is very old and not very well maintained. The carpets are stained, the walls have lots of mark on them. The pillows are AWFUL!! We stayed there because of the location. I would not every stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

The front desk associate was friendly but maid service was not. Late at night the hotel is used as a place to do drug deals etc. It is likely just the location but overall you get what you pay for.

although the room was clean the lobby, elevator and hallway had a very strong incense odor that made us headachy. We also had two "holds" put on our credit card, even though we booked and paid through hotels.com

The floor might have been as comfortable as the bed. The pillows were miniscule and the blankets had cigsrette burns even though it was a non-smoking room. The windows could not be opened. i dont really see why this hotel has gotten bad reviews. The room was clean, and for the price, was pretty nice. The hotel as a whole needs updating. If it was it would be very enjoyable and extremely close to the convention center. But in all, the condition was semi-dirty and fairly dated.

Nothing particularly bad, but nothing particularly good either. This is an old hotel that seems old. There comes a time when carpets and furniture need to be replaced, and a fresh coat of paint applied and this hotel has reached it. The bed was soft, the water hot. Check in went smoothly but nothing else did! Our room was dirty especialy the bathroom. The pillows were the size of a book, the thermostat didn't work. Right in max line- is a plus! windows wont open- feels a bit stuffy and musty. Room was spacious, decent king bed and pillows, great bathroom counter space/ dressing area- full length mirror, iron and board. Also nice w/ kitchenette, micro/ fridge.

I have never complained about a hotel before but this place took the cake!When we opened the door the smell of the room rushed out at you and made you gag. The heat was left on so that made the smell worse. It was a combination of smoke, BO and what we later discovered was dried vomit. I've traveled to 13 countries and to about 25 cities here in the U.S. I stayed in so many hotels, this hotel is by far the dirtiest and the smelliest. I supposedly stayed in a no smoking section of the hotel, but I could smell cigarettes and marijuana coming from the halls or vents, into my room. People smoking in the staircases. The staff was very efficient, helpful and friendly. The room itself had stained carpet, peeling walls, broken widow that had been glued togehter and mildew. The beds were comfortable and appeared clean.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke, there was long strands of hair in the bed, the towels were dirty, the heat barely worked and the room wasn't comfortable. This isn't that bad of a hotel, especially for the price and location. It's a bit grungy, but the rooms and beds were clean and bedbug-free and stain-free and there's free parking and free wifi in the rooms. I'd stay here again. Third year in a row I've chosen this hotel for a convention. One might think from other reviews that this is a terrible place to stay. I disagree. Extremely affordable, less than a block from downtown convention center, helpful staff, parking allowed beyond your checkout time (very handy), very close to both restaurants and shopping. Yes, this is […] an older hotel that's definitely seen better days. If you're looking for the Ritz, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for an acceptable place to stay that's not only central to a lot of wonderful attractions but gives all the basic comforts at a reasonable price...you've found it. Yes, the rail system runs right outside your window. The upside is you've only to cross the street to board the tram to where ever you want to tour. If downtown traffic noises are an issue and/or you need absolute quiet to sleep, this isn't the place for you. Do I wish that the carpets were replaced and the wallpaper repaired (both issues in the hallways) sure. Is that why I choose this hotel? Nope. I've not had the experiences that others complain about. We can see why there was a vacancy. Shabby. Probably clean but hard to tell because of the condition. Made me worry about bed bugs, luckily there were none. Location to Rose Garden event was great.
