"A lesson learned"
Chose this hotel with price in mind and basically got what I paid for. The room had an "odd" smell to it, it was hard to heat up the room, and the lighting in the room was poor. Our room was off the MAX, so first thing the morning we heard the train running.. Lesson learned...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was friendly, courteous. The room was nice size, very clean and very comfortable king bed and the price was extremely reasonable. The elevators, hallways and outside of the hotel are badly in need of renovation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for just planning to sleep"
We chose the hotel for its proximity to downtown, it met that expectation. The hotel itself was kind of run down, but the beds we're comfy and the room was plenty spacious. Pillows were a little flat - I'd bring my own. According to the manager, they had purchased the hotel a month before we stayed, and they were trying to save up revenue to begin renovations. […] Given a few months, I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location - easy to get from/to airport, lots of places to eat within walking distance, safe neighborhood. The carpet in a room was stained, but you can't change carpet every time after nasty people! The bathtub wasn't suitable for the bath, but OK to take a shower. Beds are comfy, got a good night rest. If you are planning just to spend a night […] there - it's good for the money (under $65) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Seen better, but seen worse"
Great location! Easy to get to the airport, across the street from Convention center (which was our prim. destination) and considering it was raining like crazy it was a huge plus. The hotel itself worn down, our carpet had some stains (looked like blood), but hey - how often you can change the carpet after people who's making a mess? The bathroom wasn't […] the cleanest either, but I wasn't planning of taking a bath. The beds are comfy, we were at the end of corridor and didn't hear any noise (3rd floor), so had a good night rest. For the money it was a good stay - just needed a place to sleep for 3 nights, nothing more. Stuff is polite and helpful. Save neighborhood, places to eat withing walking distance. Was put in a non-smoking room with a big sign on the door (circle with a line through it and a cigarette in the middle) but the whole room clearly smelled of smoke with a huge pile of ashes on the night stand. The bathtub was dirty with grey spots and the wall paper was peeling everywhere. The whole room was beat up as if the last inhabitants had a […] frat party. The glass doors to the faux balcony looked like a dog had slobbered all over them and also had a bunch of hand prints. I had arrived late and could not change my room until the next day which was somewhat of an improvement since there was no smoke and alittle less beat up. The nightstand beside the bed had a big greasy stain as if someone had eaten a greasy burger and laid it there but it was never wiped clean. GROSS!!! Despite the filth, the front desk was helpful as much as they could be and the location is great. It was quiet at night, not noisy even though the light rail runs directly in front of the hotel. If this place was remodeled and cleaned up (and kept that way) it could be a good place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
After being booked at the wrong hotel , the Staff at the Red Lion were more than accomodating. The bed was so comfortable, I wish I could have stayed longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable for the price. Friendly service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel location for going to the convention center was the best in town. It was walking distance with good parking. The location puts rooms overlooking Tri-Met so the trolley cars going by all night we're quite an interesting noise like an airplane landing. Did not keep me awake. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly making the visit […] enjoyable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location, Generic Service"
So, the Inn at the Convention Center is where I stayed for the 2014 Portland Comic Convention. I was a little late to order my tickets, but I got them, whereas the nearby Red Lion and other resorts filled to capacity sooner than the Inn, despite it being a hair closer. I figured this would be one of those 'get what you pay for' resorts and to that end, […] I was mostly correct. The windows are single-paned and radiate cold, the televisions feel a bit archaic with their choice in channels (I never found the HBO channels they said they served) and the service behind the counter ranges between stony glares, rigid tones and the smiles are genuinely missing, something I didn't think I would miss as much as I would. Aside from that, their aloe vera soap smells fantastic, they have all the standard amenities, the heater is functional and only the stairwell is in any sort of disrepair. There's no vandalism, smokers loitering (for those of you who wonder), the rooms are clean and it has a mid-day check-out time, as well as a bare bones, two-level parking garage. The location is great and I could look forward to staying here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for what you need!"
I love this hotel. It is walking distance from the public transit system, convention center, and Moda Center. The staff is laid bak and the hotel itself has a college town vibe. You know they expect you to have a good time when there is a bottle opener drilled by the sink counter :) I recommended this place to whomever I know is visiting. "A nice place"
When i'm in Portland, I enjoy this hotel. There are rooms with awesome views of the city and it breath taking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right next to MAX line"
While the amenities weren't that great, the fact that it is right next to the MAX line and the convention center make it an Ideal and realitively inexpensive hotel to stay at.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to downtown, max and event venues."
I was treated so nicely by the staff I look forward to staying there again. The room was clean and had all the amenities one could wish for. It is an older building, but is kept up very well and the staff are so helpful and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient location, but not worth it."
I was in town overnight to attend a concert at the Moda Center. I was looking for a cheap hotel, close proximity to the Moda Center, and this hotel certainly fit the bill. Unfortunately there are too many negative attributes for me recommend it as a place to stay, even for one night, even if all you care about is the convenient location. The hallway, […] room, elevator, everything had an odor. Our room on the 4th floor faced the street and there was constant noise from the streetcar. It was very loud. The walls of the room seemed paper thin because we could hear entire conversations happening in the room next to us. When we woke up in the morning, the tree just outside our window had been decorated with underwear and a condom. And that morning the hallway reeked of vomit. To be fair I am giving them a high score for their location, because it was very convenient. But we were only in the room for a total of 6 - 7 hours and that was enough to make sure that I will never stay here again. And I would recommend that you heed my advice and do the same. Stay across the street at the Red Lion, or find a place a few blocks away. The extra time walking will be worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here a few times about 10 years ago, which is apparently the last time they did anything to the place. Not clean, not comfortable, I had to pull the fridge out and set it on the counter to turn it on, there were water leaks, an uncomfortable bed, even the wallpaper was peeling. I was afraid to set my stuff on the floor or furniture. No running […] around in your socks here. YUCK! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pretty gross hotel, stained sheets, smoke smell"
Cigarette burns in the sheets , stains all over the bed coverings. Bad smell of smoke and stale odors. NoisyGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was not selected for it accommodations but for it's proximity to the Convention Center, as a hotel goes in my experience it was passable and if I needed to stay in Portland for the same reason in the future I would.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near where I had to be"
I stayed at this hotel because is was near where I had to be for an event. It was in walking distance and was fairly neat and clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was acceptably clean, but in need of maintenance & repairs. Hallways a bit dingy and narrow. Key cards didn't work well and lighting was poor. Location across from convention center was very convenient, and parking was free and easily accessed. Rates affordable on a per diem budget. Service was courteous. Amenities pretty much non-existent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An inexpensive lodging near the C Ctr"
The location is ideal for Convention Center visitors. But it is a budget hotel. You will smell prior smokers, hear the all night clang of Portland trollys. Coffee is fine, room was clean. Manager was welcoming.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Inn at the Convention Center was true to its name in location; we did have a nice view from our room of the Convention center towers and the river. The rooms were inexpensive for the location, but I would say that the quality of the rooms were lower, accordingly. Lots of stains on the carpet, poor lighting in the room (it felt dark even with all […] of the lights on), no functional exhaust fan in the bathroom, etc. Sheets, towels, and bedding were clean, but the sheets seemed threadbare like all of the cotton was washed out of them. Not a bad place to stay if you are not planning to spend any time in your room except bathing and sleeping. Close to the Max line and downtown. I enjoyed the short walk over the bottom level of the steel bridge to downtown and Powell's Books, and the neighborhood seemed clean and safe, even at night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not great but not the worst"
This hotel looks like it hasn't been updated in a long time. Fixtures, furniture, decor, all seem retro (not in a good way). I didn't have any problems with it being blatantly dirty like other people reviewed. It's just outdated. The lobby smells like lollipops in a weird way. The wi-fi was non existent. The one time I got a signal for their wi-fi was […] when standing outside the lobby in the driveway, and then it disappeared when I stepped inside. The location is great for people attending anything at the Convention Center. It's also right next to a MAX stop. And hey, it's cheap. What can you really expect? "The worst customer service EVER!"
I booked and paid online for a room. I showed up before they had gotten the reservation. Because I made an error in reading, I didn't have enough money on my card to cover the deposits. Seeing as how they just received the reservation, one would think I would get my money back, since they wouldn't rent the room to me. They would not. If the tables were […] turned, I would've done it without thinking twice. I will never use them again and will tell all of my friends and family as well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"tramway noise all night long"
The side I was located had trollies on rails rolling back and forth in the street less then 30 feet from our room till after midnight. It was loud, annoying and impossible to sleep, relax, or enjoy any quiet what so ever.Genuine Expedia guest review

The Wi-Fi did not work. Shower took awhile to warm up. Wakeup call was late. The cable box did not work.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Funky hotel close to downtown."
Close to downtown. Shabby building, in need of sprucing up. The room had a strong odor that became tolerable, once I aired out the place. I had to keep the outside fan on all of the time to keep the odor under control. Other than that, and the funky condition of the room and hotel, I was quite comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"At least it's cheap"
It's not great but it was cheap. I had a number of problems such as waiting more than a half hour to check in because no one was at the desk, house keeping leaving my door open after they were done and trying to get the front desk clerks attention while he was openly watching adult videos on his computer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms and hotel had an odor. The staff was not helpful. The shower kept going from hot to cold. The tv kept going out due to interference. The price was not worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Budget - basic with good location near Lloyd Ctr"
3rd stay - we asked for a mini fridge for our room and it was delivered free of charge. Very basic old facilities, however for a place for sleeping and storing your shopping - I keep coming back. Also has free parking. Staff are always friendly too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Attending a conference at the Rose Garden makes this a great location to stay. However, there are no amenities, The rooms are in only average condition, the windows are dirty and it is fairly noisy from street traffic and the Max. The lighting is terrible, there is no fan in the bathroom. The big plus to the hotel is the location and free parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Near convention center"
The Inn has a good location but the facility is very dated and need some investment. It's kept fairly clean but that can't hide how worn it looks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good Location. A little worn"
Very good staff. This hotel is what you would expect for the price. It is in a great location. It's a bit worn, but everything works and is clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
The first disappointment was when I booked a single King bed and ended up with two queens. The second was the advertisement of a discount at the cafe across the street that wasn't valid. When I inquired about it at the front desk they said they no longer affiliate with them. I booked the room two weeks before our stay so I'm not sure what changed in […] two weeks. Overall the place looked pretty outdated and dingy but for the price I guess that's what we get. Free parking was nice. Staff wasn't bad. The bathroom toilet looked like it was going to overflow every time it was flushed and the shower went from hot to cold moment to moment. Not very relaxing. The max light rail was literally outside our window, which was good and bad. Good because it was convenient and bad because it was super loud. Not much else nice to say. "close to convention center, overall "eh""
It's great that it's so close to the convention center, but overall the hotel is just "eh." The hallway stinks and is hot, the room was fine, nothing to write home about. The a/c wasn't working, but the maintenance man was able to fix it. The staff were friendly enough; they even let me check in early and they notified me that security noticed my ipod […] was visible in my car and I'd better move it. "So You Can't Find a Room in Portland?"
This place sits on property across the river next to the uber nice Convention Center. The property owner obviously is spending no money on renovations. It's a hotel you book if you can't get on the downtown side. But the tram stops right out front. You figure that the hotel owner is just waiting for the right offer and this place will be demolished […] and put out of its misery. Downtown Portland is a beautiful city but there is a serious hotel shortage. So a room that is $150/night in a city like Belleview would be like $350 in downtown Portland. Everything gets booked so plan months ahead if you visit Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
