"Good for the price"
The balconies don't open and the entire hotel is non smoking, so that sucked. But overall it was a good value for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A lesson learned"
Chose this hotel with price in mind and basically got what I paid for. The room had an "odd" smell to it, it was hard to heat up the room, and the lighting in the room was poor. Our room was off the MAX, so first thing the morning we heard the train running.. Lesson learned...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was friendly, courteous. The room was nice size, very clean and very comfortable king bed and the price was extremely reasonable. The elevators, hallways and outside of the hotel are badly in need of renovation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location, bad condition"
Location right across from Convention Center is hard to beat but if you can afford to pay more or stay further I would recommend to do it. Beds were the only good thing - comfortable and relatively new. But overall it is noisy (trams line is very close), smelly, shabby. I also found black tie under the table in my room which you cannot miss if you vacuum […] the floor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for just planning to sleep"
We chose the hotel for its proximity to downtown, it met that expectation. The hotel itself was kind of run down, but the beds we're comfy and the room was plenty spacious. Pillows were a little flat - I'd bring my own. According to the manager, they had purchased the hotel a month before we stayed, and they were trying to save up revenue to begin renovations. […] Given a few months, I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location - easy to get from/to airport, lots of places to eat within walking distance, safe neighborhood. The carpet in a room was stained, but you can't change carpet every time after nasty people! The bathtub wasn't suitable for the bath, but OK to take a shower. Beds are comfy, got a good night rest. "Seen better, but seen worse"
Great location! Easy to get to the airport, across the street from Convention center (which was our prim. destination) and considering it was raining like crazy it was a huge plus. The hotel itself worn down, our carpet had some stains (looked like blood), but hey - how often you can change the carpet after people who's making a mess? The bathroom wasn't […] the cleanest either, but I wasn't planning of taking a bath. The beds are comfy, we were at the end of corridor and didn't hear any noise (3rd floor), so had a good night rest. For the money it was a good stay - just needed a place to sleep for 3 nights, nothing more. Stuff is polite and helpful. Save neighborhood, places to eat withing walking distance. Was put in a non-smoking room with a big sign on the door (circle with a line through it and a cigarette in the middle) but the whole room clearly smelled of smoke with a huge pile of ashes on the night stand. The bathtub was dirty with grey spots and the wall paper was peeling everywhere. The whole room was beat up as if the last inhabitants had a […] frat party. The glass doors to the faux balcony looked like a dog had slobbered all over them and also had a bunch of hand prints. I had arrived late and could not change my room until the next day which was somewhat of an improvement since there was no smoke and alittle less beat up. The nightstand beside the bed had a big greasy stain as if someone had eaten a greasy burger and laid it there but it was never wiped clean. GROSS!!! Despite the filth, the front desk was helpful as much as they could be and the location is great. It was quiet at night, not noisy even though the light rail runs directly in front of the hotel. If this place was remodeled and cleaned up (and kept that way) it could be a good place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
After being booked at the wrong hotel , the Staff at the Red Lion were more than accomodating. The bed was so comfortable, I wish I could have stayed longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

the room smelt of a strong bathroom cleaner. also all the electrical appliances (lamps, etc) were unplugged. strange.Genuine Expedia guest review
No channel guide for the television, internet services very odd and had to use tech help each time I used it, no personal toiltrees offered in the lobby ie:toothbrush, medicine, clippers etc to purchase, hair in the coffee pot, visible rat traps, terrible pillows, very uncomfortable mattresses, dirty elevators, no fan in bathroom, no do not disturb […] hanger, weird smell in hallways, noisy, no coffee or tea in lobby, 2 nights were reserved, but not entered in computer so our second night we were locked out of our room and had to get new cards to open the door Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel location for going to the convention center was the best in town. It was walking distance with good parking. "Right next to Convention center"
Short walking distance to the convention center. A lot of parking. Had some trouble with my reservation, some of the staff are competent others seem to be learning. This was the perfect hotel for our Convention and the location could not be better. We could walk our merchandise over the Wizard World and never had to drive. "Great Location, Generic Service"
So, the Inn at the Convention Center is where I stayed for the 2014 Portland Comic Convention. I was a little late to order my tickets, but I got them, whereas the nearby Red Lion and other resorts filled to capacity sooner than the Inn, despite it being a hair closer. I figured this would be one of those 'get what you pay for' resorts and to that end, […] I was mostly correct. The windows are single-paned and radiate cold, the televisions feel a bit archaic with their choice in channels (I never found the HBO channels they said they served) and the service behind the counter ranges between stony glares, rigid tones and the smiles are genuinely missing, something I didn't think I would miss as much as I would. Aside from that, their aloe vera soap smells fantastic, they have all the standard amenities, the heater is functional and only the stairwell is in any sort of disrepair. There's no vandalism, smokers loitering (for those of you who wonder), the rooms are clean and it has a mid-day check-out time, as well as a bare bones, two-level parking garage. The location is great and I could look forward to staying here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I would stay here again"
Although the halls and rooms appear to be a little dated, I found the rooms to be clean tidy and comfortable. Staff was friendly courteous and helpful Train, streetcar and bus access was available within a block No more than 5-10 min and you are downtownGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Inn is well located for all parts of Portland"
If you are planning on not spending much time in your hotel and more time out exploring Portland, the Inn will suit you fine. It's no frills and you get what you pay for. Be warned, Rooms on the Eastern side will be loud due to the tram / street car line.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, close to everything"
Good hotel for basic needs. Close to max, close to downtown, close to malls and food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice about having pets but max was right below window which was a little loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gross and rude staff"
This was probably the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The front desk was extremely rude! If I could have gotten our money back we would have left. Police were patrolling the hotel to "crack down on some suspicious activity" and that is an exact quote from a staff member. DO NOT STAY HERE! Spend the extra $10 or $20 bucks and go to red lion.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old hotel in front of the convention center"
Even refurbished several times, the place looks old. Few practical details needs to be perfected (the dryer doesn't work, mini fridge doesn't work, the overall look, etc) but so far, you got what you pay for.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for what you need!"
I love this hotel. It is walking distance from the public transit system, convention center, and Moda Center. The staff is laid bak and the hotel itself has a college town vibe. You know they expect you to have a good time when there is a bottle opener drilled by the sink counter :) I recommended this place to whomever I know is visiting. "Not worth the price"
This is a $60/night hotel at best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everytime i went down to the lobby the police were there and twice they had someone handcuffed right there in the lobby and they were in the hallway of the floor where i was staying and it upset my children. I think this hotel reports everyone who is staying there to the police and then they come to the hotel and arrest everyone with arrest warrants […] and i think this is very poor business practice as a hotel is in the business of renting rooms and not policing! This made me very very uncomfortable and i will never ever stay there again and i will tell everyone i know and facebook not to stay there! I paid top dollar to stay there because on line they made it seem like a good place to stay, it would have been if it had not been for the police being in the lobby every time i went down there! Thats what made me uncomfortable was the police! Not the other guests! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"With a few changes this could be a very good hotel"
The overall experience of my week at the Inn was a very good one. For me, hotels come down to comfort of the bed, sound levels, convenient to Public Transport and city night-life, general safety of building and surrounding neighbourhood, and helpful staff. I am a light-sleeper so earplugs and a sound machine with the room's wall heater drowned out noise. The […] decor is stained and dated but the furniture is functional and comfortable. When i'm in Portland, I enjoy this hotel. There are rooms with awesome views of the city and it breath taking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right next to MAX line"
While the amenities weren't that great, the fact that it is right next to the MAX line and the convention center make it an Ideal and realitively inexpensive hotel to stay at.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very old hotel which needs restoration."
I got the wrong impression from the selling points. I was expecting a microwave or a refrigerator. I felt unsafe walking in the immediate area except for the convention center.Genuine Expedia guest review
Recently when I flew in to visit some family, my flight was delayed, causing me to miss the last train out. I booked a night here and was all over pleasantly surprised. For a hotel next to the convention center it was priced like a hotel on the outskirts of town. The building is a little older, and it's easy to tell that they are falling behind the […] times a bit, but it was cozy and comfortable. The walls are pretty thin, so probably not the best place for couples who are louder. The location is nice, just about any chain you'd want to eat at is within a few blocks, right next to the tram line leading up to the airport and down to downtown. Short tram ride away from the Amtrak station as well. In one night this hotel has become my new go too budget hotel for Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel priced for budget minded people"
This is the 4th year of an annual convention in which I've stayed at the Inn at the Convention Center. There were a lot of changes and upgrades I've noticed since my last stay. My room now had its own microwave, the fridge was larger and the carpet looked new. Yes, this is an older hotel and it's seen better days. However, considering the prices are […] about 1/3 of what other hotels within 2-4 block charge, it's a STEAL of a bargain. I've seen others rip into this hotel regarding cleanliness, "interesting" guests, staff, etc. I've gotta say that I've never once experienced any of these issues or problems. Either others are exaggerating a wee bit or they're expecting to have the Ritz Carlton on a tiny budget. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient location, but not worth it."
I was in town overnight to attend a concert at the Moda Center. I was looking for a cheap hotel, close proximity to the Moda Center, and this hotel certainly fit the bill. Unfortunately there are too many negative attributes for me recommend it as a place to stay, even for one night, even if all you care about is the convenient location. The hallway, […] room, elevator, everything had an odor. Our room on the 4th floor faced the street and there was constant noise from the streetcar. It was very loud. The walls of the room seemed paper thin because we could hear entire conversations happening in the room next to us. When we woke up in the morning, the tree just outside our window had been decorated with underwear and a condom. And that morning the hallway reeked of vomit. To be fair I am giving them a high score for their location, because it was very convenient. But we were only in the room for a total of 6 - 7 hours and that was enough to make sure that I will never stay here again. And I would recommend that you heed my advice and do the same. Stay across the street at the Red Lion, or find a place a few blocks away. The extra time walking will be worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here a few times about 10 years ago, which is apparently the last time they did anything to the place. Not clean, not comfortable, I had to pull the fridge out and set it on the counter to turn it on, there were water leaks, an uncomfortable bed, even the wallpaper was peeling. I was afraid to set my stuff on the floor or furniture. No running […] around in your socks here. YUCK! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pretty gross hotel, stained sheets, smoke smell"
Cigarette burns in the sheets , stains all over the bed coverings. Bad smell of smoke and stale odors. NoisyGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was not selected for it accommodations but for it's proximity to the Convention Center, as a hotel goes in my experience it was passable and if I needed to stay in Portland for the same reason in the future I would.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near where I had to be"
I stayed at this hotel because is was near where I had to be for an event. It was in walking distance and was fairly neat and clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was acceptably clean, but in need of maintenance & repairs. Hallways a bit dingy and narrow. Key cards didn't work well and lighting was poor. Location across from convention center was very convenient, and parking was free and easily accessed. Rates affordable on a per diem budget. Service was courteous. Amenities pretty much non-existent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An inexpensive lodging near the C Ctr"
The location is ideal for Convention Center visitors. But it is a budget hotel. You will smell prior smokers, hear the all night clang of Portland trollys. Coffee is fine, room was clean. Manager was welcoming.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Inn at the Convention Center was true to its name in location; we did have a nice view from our room of the Convention center towers and the river. The rooms were inexpensive for the location, but I would say that the quality of the rooms were lower, accordingly. Lots of stains on the carpet, poor lighting in the room (it felt dark even with all […] of the lights on), no functional exhaust fan in the bathroom, etc. Sheets, towels, and bedding were clean, but the sheets seemed threadbare like all of the cotton was washed out of them. Not a bad place to stay if you are not planning to spend any time in your room except bathing and sleeping. Close to the Max line and downtown. I enjoyed the short walk over the bottom level of the steel bridge to downtown and Powell's Books, and the neighborhood seemed clean and safe, even at night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
