"Clean hotel 10 mins from Venice's main bus station"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, cold meat, cereal and fresh baked croissants. This hotel is great value! It is a 10 minute walk from the Mestre bus/train station, next door to a supermarket and close to kebab/pizza restaurants and some pubs. It is very easy to get into central Venice. There is a bus right across the street that comes every 10 mins and takes about 12 mins to get to the main bus station in Venice. It costs a little over a euro one way and you can get the ticket at the reception (along with vaporetta tickets). Keep in mind though that st.mark's square is about a 35 min walk from Piazalle Roma ( the bus station). Unless you want to lug your bags through the narrow, busy streets and (many) staircases of Venice and pay a fortune for a dump, I would recommend staying in the Mestre area and this hotel was great value for the money.

Loved this hotel. Best price and great amenities. I am a bit of a hotel snob and this one delivered great
"Venice May 2012"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
We stayed 1 night only and were very happy with the hotel. Dont forget to get you key from Hotel Luca as the Casa Dolce has no reception. The feeling of the hotel is as you were resident of Venice. We highly recommend it.

For visitors arriving by rail or by bus, Cannaregio is Venice’s front door and the start of the Grand Canal. It sees a lot of passing traffic in terms of canal boats and visitors en route to San Marco, but is otherwise quieter and less touristy than central Venice. Points of interest include the Ghetto area (the original Jewish enclave) with its museums and the majestic Ca d’Oro palace, one of the iconic buildings of the Grand Canal.

I am a small woman, but a "singola" bed made me feel like a giant, wishing I were a midget. Would definitely go for the "matrimoniale" size bed in the future.
"Bait and Switch - Not worth the money."
The room I booked online looked nothing like the wall closet I was actually given. It wasn't a true king-size bed, just two singles pushed together. They gave us room 101 which was similar to Orson Well's description of Room 101 as the place where your nightmares come true. This hotel ruined a romantic evening, and the front desk was rude. The breakfast […] was a joke, in fact insulting. Poor quality food that would be served at most hourly hotels in trashy neighborhoods would compare. An absolute disappointment. This hotel does not concern itself with the quality of stay of its guests. The hotel would have been acceptable if the cost were half of what we paid. Read more
"Beautiful Hotel!"
Really loved this hotel, great location, very nice rooms and exceptionally clean! Nice surprise was a great canal view! Would recommend to anyone.

"A Mixed Experience"
There were pluses and minuses to our stay at Hotel Ca' D'Oro. The pluses were a helpful staff, a great location just off the Rialto, and a clean room. The minuses included a ground-floor room without any view of anything, wi-fi that didn't work in our room but seemed to work in the main building of the hotel, and some clear signs of deferred maintenance […] (peeling plaster, etc.). The room also amounted to crowded quarters for our family of four, with us stepping over and around beds to move through the room; the cots for the kids were pretty well worn as well. Read more
"Great value"
The location was a little out of the way but near a water taxi stop. The hotel room and the bathroom were nice and about the size of a typical American hotel room. All of the light fixtures were very nice Murano glass and the hotel will arrange for a free water taxi to take you to a glass manufacturer on Murano. Breakfast is included but is not great. […] Overall it was a good value for the money considering the outrageous prices for everything in Italy made worse by the weak dollar. Read more
"Nice hotel in Venice"
Hotel Ca' d'Oro is off the beaten path in Venice, which makes it a nice place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds. The staff were helpful, and the place was clean. It actually looked like they renovated our room and bathroom recently. We had a deluxe double room which had two twin beds pushed together. The beds were firm and the shower was […] small, but that seems to be a very common thing for Italy. There was no view of the canals from our room unless you stuck your head out the window and looked to the right. Breakfast was typical for Italy - pastries, cereal, yogurt, sliced deli ham & cheese, toast, coffee (cappuccino, espresso, and American coffee), etc. The hotel had a roof top balcony that we never saw, but I would have liked to. The hotel will also arrange for a free water taxi to one of the Murano glass manufacturers and a free tour. Nice perk that's totally free! The location was also convenient because we were less than a 10 minute walk from the Ca' d'Oro water bus stop. The only challenge is finding where you're going in Venice! Great hotel though. I'd stay there again. Read more
"Hotel in Venice"
Very helpful staff, good location, overlooking canal. Overall very pleasant stay except shower and room was a little small.
"Good Experience"
Nice hotel; Affordable; Clean; Good Breakfast; Cordial Staff. I did have some problems locating it, but then again its in Venice where everything is difficult to find.
"Hotel Ca'D'oro"
My husband and I stayed that the Hotel Ca'D'oro with my in-law's. We have never been to Venice and were really pleased with this place. The hotel was very clean. The people were nice and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful and offered alot more then usual. We would stay here again and would suggest it for other people.
"Ca D'Oro - very nice hotel"
Great staff Perfect location Would go back and recommend

"Ca' D'Oro: A Reasonable Hotel in Venice"
This hotel is conviently located in one of Venice's many scenic neighborhoods. Within walking distance of the Rialto district as well as St. Mark's Square (a little farther but doable), it was what we expected. Comfortable, clean rooms that overlooked the canal with all the amenities we expected. Breakfast is not included and WiFi is not free, two details […] we wished would have been different. Otherwise the hotel staff was friendly and I would recommend this hotel as an average place to stay for an enjoyable time in Venice. Read more
"Pretty Good..."
The hotel is located in a pretty nice area and the hotel itself was nicely taken care of. Don't be fooled by seeing the breakfast feature, I thought it was continental but evidently with booking it through here it's not. It's 7 euro per person per day so we went out and at some pastries and coffee for way less than that. Other than that is was nice. […] Our room did smell horribly though, it was definitely coming from the bathroom and it smelled strongly of disinfectant or insect repellant we weren't sure which. It was pretty bad. Read more
"Huge room with bathtub and view of small canal"
We were overjoyed that we got a beautiful and large room with bath and a view of a canal outside our window. We were off the main tourist center so it was quiet.

"Convenient location"
We enjoyed our one night stay at the Hotel Ca'D'Oro. The room was tight for three people and the beds weren't particularly comfortable. But, all in all, it was a nice place. The man at the front desk referred us to a wonderful restaurant nearby for lunch -- we were the only tourists in the place -- a real feat considering the city was overrun with […] them! Read more
"Okay for 1 night"
I guess you can't expect too much in Venice. Our room had a distinct musty smell to it, but I guess that is part of the package. Room was old but clean. Bathroom was modern. However we had no view from the first floor. The location was good and close to everything. Very central. Staff spoke english.
"Outstanding Hotel for What I Paid!"
Because of the lower price than other hotels, I was not expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised! No complaints whatsoever. Don't miss the good view from the balcony/smoking area. Conveniently located near Rialto between the train station and San Marco Square. Unfortunately, I had to stay at another hotel on the second day, and the other […] hotel was about 30% more expensive and the room, service and amenities were not even close... I will stay at this hotel again next time in Venice. Read more
"Good stay for a couple of nights only"
Very central and easy to spot although the directions did not do justice when you don't realise just how small the streets are.
"Great place to be.."
The hotel is wonderful and is very close to everything. Only trouble we had is to find the hotel - the google map had lead us to a wrong location. Note: there's no taxi there. Hsiao-Ling
"it is good one overall"
it is ok
"Hotel Ca' d'Oro, Venice"
Friendly small hotel, good location. Very very tiny single room with heavy furniture. Breakfast was good.
Clean and quiet hotel, frendly staff. Breakfast very simple.

"Loved this place!"
warm and comfortable, clean and tidy, good sized room and nice bath and shower and tv. only problem was not being able to plug anything in to charge it, which meant taking it down to the lobby all the time. breakast was alright, a buffet , coffee wasnt so great but there were plenty of pastries and good choice of teas and ham and cheese. felt very safe […] and was really quiet which we like, Read more
Good location though bit difficult to find on arrival. Someclear directions from hotels.com would be helpful. Room pretty small. Delightful small rooftop terrace
"Hotel Ca D'Oro in Venice is nice, but poor service"
Nice hotel in a nice location. Service was poor, they advertise internet, but it doesn't work in the rooms and is off and on in the lobby. Breakfast is basic with small tables and usually a line for coffee or tea. Location is great, near the Realto and a short walk to San Marco.
"Easy to Find!"
After a screw-up with our reservation, through no fault of the hotel we found our rooms to be very spacious (by Europe standards), clean and comfortable. Just 3 stops by water bus from the train station brings you to this tight alleyway that gives way to a much larger area. Directions on the hotel website are exact. This hotel is tucked away from the […] hustle and bustle of the streets of Venice, quiet and relaxing. We would definately stay there again, good value for the money. Read more
"Ca D'Oro Hotel Venice"
Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the canal. The rooftop terrace and small cafe added to it's charm. Very short ealk to the Rialto and not too far from St. Mark's. Also had a small supermarket very close by. Would definitely recommend it.
"Great stay!"
One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Service is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and maintained very well. Only drawback was internet was not included and was a bit expensive. I was very satisfied and felt it deserved a tip.
"Hotel Ca' d'Oro"
The hotel is at quiet neighbourhood, where you can sleep well during the night. The hotel is at a convenience location for me, about 5 mins walk from the ferry stop and 30 seconds walk to the main shopping street at the area . However the room is on a rather small size I have to say, but sufficient for a budget hotel.
"Hotel Ca' d'Oro in Venice"
This hotel is small, friendly and very clean. It is situated in a very quite part of Venice, there are a lot of very well priced places to eat and it is a lovely walk through the back streets, and over bridges to the main part of the City. The water bus stop is close to the Hotel and easy to find. Our room was very clean, and had a wonderful view of […] the canal. Read more
"Hotel Ca'd'Oro"
We loved this hotel. We had a lovely family room overlooking the canal. We found the room and bathroom to be spacious and clean. The breakfasts were great. Staff were friendly. It is within short walking distance from the Rialto bridge and close to water bus station.

"Ca' D'oro"
The Hotel let Me check in early which was great 'cause i needed to clean up after traveling through the sweltering sun. The single (lone traveler) room had great air-con & was nice and clean. Quite small but it was a single. Bathroom was nice with a walk in shower. No view from my room, if you stuck your head out you could see a canal & some rooms would've […] had a nice view. Breakfast was very nice for a European hotel, with muesli, nice coffees, juices, yogurts, croissants, diced fruit, ham, cheese etc. etc. TV was okay with BBC & CNN news in English & Mtv playing the cliched pop songs of the day. It had a smal lair-conditioned bar where you could have a coffee or a drink & read a book etc. but not really a place for socializing. Internet access for 1€ for 30 mins. Location was pretty good Half way between the Station & San Marco. I walked with my pack from the station. If you walked north(ish) from the hotel it was much quieter & less thronged with tourists & you could de-stress & get a reasonably priced meal while still seeing how life was in a canal city. - there is also a water bus stop here directly to the Airport for 13€... it is cheaper to walk to piazelle Roma for the bus (3€) but i thought it was worth the extra tenner at the end of a holiday just to have this convenient morning walk & i got to say i was on a vaporetto!! I would recommend if you have only a day in venice to walk to san marco/rialto etc in the morning or evening but not in the peak of the day!! After staying in youth hostel dorms on my trip, I wanted this hotel for one night of luxury before i caught my morning flight from San Marco. It did the job perfectly! Be careful where you eat in Venice; on the main strip i paid 17€ for a salad & ice tea when they threw in service charges etc. On the other hand off the beaten track at night i got a great meal with beer & coffee & good service for the same price & was very pleased. "3 gode dage"

Fina lampor i taken.
"Perfekt beliggenhet"
