It was very nice. A little difficult to find at first. The roof top terrace is nice but very small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time and was very pleased with our choice of hotel. Ca"D Oro was in a great location yet a little bit off the beaten path, only by a few minutes, so that it was a really nice and quiet restful place.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Centrally located and good value for money"
This (and most hotels in Venice) is in a maze. So after we found it, we were welcomed very warmly by the staff. The tiny (this is Europe) room was very clean and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay in Venice. The internet connection was awesome too. Each day our room was cleaned and on time. It seems like a family operated business or at least […] it feels that way. I would definitely stay there again. We had no sun while we were there and rained a few days. But that did not stop us. And we did not buy water boots for high tide! Just did not want to be ripped off. We enjoyed every last bit of our four days and this hotel made the difference. I did not give 5 stars because it just isn't and they do not pretend to be. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Look for the Outside. OLD and DEPRESSING."
I pre-paid 4 nights thru hotels.com after reading the reviews. It was the smallest room I have ever seen. Went downstairs to talk to the girl about upgrading and she said they were completely full although rooms were still available on hotels.com. The twin-bedded room #308 had a small armoire with loose keyed entry. The safe inside fit a wallet and […] passport....not big enough for an IPad. The room was dark and dingy....old carpeting in hallway...somewhat of a "tenement house" feel. I stayed one night, woke up with a backache (I do not have back problems), forfeitted 3 nights and booked a lovely boutique hotel just steps away for the same price. The Front Desk staff has to learn some Customer Service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Just a short walk from the Ca'd'Oro vaporetto stop with no stairs. Not much further (with stairs) to the Fondamente Nove stop for easy access to the islands. Helpful staff, good breakfast, good deluxe room. Internet works fine in lobby, not at all in room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice small hotel"
We recently stayed at this hotel in the Carravagio section of Venezia. We found it to be charming ... but it was a no frills type of hotel. We thought it was a bit overpriced for the size of the room and bathroom which had a very small stall shower. The canal view was OK ... We asked how to open the windows and shutters in our room ... so we could look […] out the window. We had booked the deluxe canal view room .... it was not deluxe .... a very basic room. We found the staff to be pleasant and accommodating. We liked the area in Venezia because it was off the beaten path. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Extremely overpriced hotel"
The room was adequate however it was way overpriced for what it was. The room was clean but small. Nice view of the cannel. Beds were uncomfortable. The breakfast was not very good and the staff was impersonal and unfriendly. It was by far my least favorite hotel of the five that I stayed in in Italy and by far the most expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We found the Hotel Ca' d'oro a lovely place to spend our first visit to Venice. It was very easy to find with some guidance from a local and the neighborhood was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location right on the canal in Venice!"
Great location and a great way to stay on a canal without paying the price you would for the Grand Canal. There's also a nice square with restaurants and wine bars right outside. The room was nice, but the best part of the hotel (which very few guests seemed to take advantage of) was the rooftop deck. Awesome views of the city and a great place to have […] a glass of wine an watch the sunset. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent small hotel in Cannaregio"
This is my third stay at Hotel Ca d'Oro! I like the good location, clean & comfortable, roof terrace, quiet but within walking distance to Rialto, St. Marks etc. Vaporetti stop close by. I enjoy staying here|Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed our stay in a small efficient room with a beautiful view of a side canal. The location was quite but easily accessible to the Grand Canal. The setting was safe for two female travelers. Breakfast buffet was convenient & desk staff was helpful. Seemed a bit pricey for accommodations but Venice is expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
Very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend this to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and good price."
This hotel maybe delivers a bit more than one can expect for the price - great location, view from the room, good breakfast, a/c.... But the general feeling us pretty dreary and I ended up thinking it would have been better to have spent more and stayed someplace more special. That said, good value for money.Genuine Expedia guest review
Location close to restaurants and bars but on a quiet corner so not too loud for sleeping. Staff was friendly and spoke good English. Wifi in the room was not very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location is good, in a quite alley, but very close to the main tourist parts, view from room faces a beautiful canal, roof top garden great, room is nice but is a bit small, air condition is goodGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel close to major sites. Do not recommend walking from train station, instead take water bus. Breakfast had good variety. Electricity goes off when you leave your room---AC and chargers. Staff very helpful. Our room had view of canal and room small, but you really are not in room much. Quiet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tries hard but needs updating"
Convenient to the Ghetto area though not in the heart of town - not a problem, since tourist Venice is fairly small and you want to walk all over anyway.. Staff always helpful, good natured. However, rooms not only small but bathroom forced you to sit sideways on the toilet, shower barely large enough for turning around - watch your elbows as you wash! […] Only a wardrobe to hang clothes with bar from front to back - awkward access. Furnishings generally felt tired. Breakfast was disappointing - we don't need much but the cut fruit, for instance, looked as if it had just come out of a can, a pity in June in Italy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
Google map your way here. Once you get there it is a wonderful little place away from the hustle and bustle. Great service and breakfast. Kind staff. Nice quiet neighborhood. It is clean, comfortable, and relaxing.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is in the absolute perfect location - really close to touristy things (the Rialto bridge is about a 5-minutes walk) but it's in a quieter area away from the crush of tourists. However, there were a few things that weren't perfect about this place: it's pretty noisy early in the morning (mostly because of some unseen, rooster (?) bird that […] seemed to live right outside our window) and we did leave with a bunch of mosquito bites, but I'm not sure that can be avoided in Venice. Also we could not figure out how the air conditioner worked, though supposedly we had air conditioning. Our breakfast was included and it was pretty good as well. This place was great. We definitely will be going here again. It was a great location. Easy to walk everywhere. Easy location to catch a water taxi or a gondola ride. A few cute shops nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient for sights and airport. Nice breakfastGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was helpful. They provided a computer for us to handle check in for our flight and printed our boarding passes and also made a call regarding our water taxi transfer, which was helpful due to language barriers. It was a quiet neighborhood which was nice for sleeping after long days of exploring. Our room was clean and there was a nice view […] over one of the little waterways. I really liked the location! "Perfect Venetian Hotel (Once You Find It)"
This hotel is a quintessential small, affordable Venetian Hotel. No big frills on the inside. Room is very small, but one should not expect much space in Venice. It was fine. The back part of the hotel overlooks an amazing picturesque canal (try to get a room facing it if you can). The location can't be beat. Right in the heart of Venice. And don't […] forget to go to the rooftop to see one of the most amazing views of Venice and the surrounding snow-capped hilltops. Two drawbacks: First, like most places in Venice, this hotel is somewhat hidden away in some back alleys, with few street signs or other indicators to help (expect to get lost). Second, with Venice's constant fight against the rising water, construction and loud water pumps are becoming the norm. This was disruptive, but I think it's something you have to expect in this city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"love this hotel!"
a family of 4 - stayed for 2 nights during Easter Holiday weekend! love the hotel - a short walk to water bus stations (Ca' d'Oro and Ft. "Pleasant Stay at Ca D'Oro Hotel"
Location was great. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. The view of the canal was nice. However, we barely had wifi connection in our room, we had to actually stand on the door to get a faint signal--I guess our room was located where the wifi signal is extremely weak. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Came from Texas. Hotel was very nice. Breakfast was good. Hotel is near canal and the view is special. Found the staff very helpful. Great hotel. Trust it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Small but quaint"
The staff is very nice. We arrived right before breakfast finished and they let us have some breakfast. The room was small, but the beds comfortable. Bathroom was a small standup shower. It is located about 5 minutes from Rialto bridge and 15 min from St. Marc's square. The staff was very nice and attentive from start to finish. If you plan to stay […] for a couple or a few days, this is the place to stay. Breakfast was nice average for European style at hotels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel in Venice. Service was terrific. One draw back, we were in the annex which has a great large room but no wifi in the room. Had to go to the lobby for wifi. Other than that a great choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for a stay in Venice"
Family of four, two adults and two grownup boys. Room was large and very comfortable. The bathroom had the best view of the canals, was impeccable and had 110V outlet good for charging my sons DS. The air conditioner worked fine and the Internet worked without a problem in the room. Breakfast was complete and included in price. The staff was very nice […] and multilingual. Venice is a city were you will do a lot of walking to get to know it well. These hotel was well located near one of the Vaporettos stop by the same name. We would definitely stay their again. "Good location- old, cramped, average."
The hotel's location is great- a little hard to find but so is everything in Venice :) Breakfast was good, nice selection and options. The room was very, very, small- which we expected to a certain degree- but it was so small it was hard to move around in. There were a couple pieces of unnecessary furniture that, I think, in a room that small you […] could remove and do without just for a smidgeon of extra space (there was an extra chair and a stool.) The shower was so tiny- I'm 5 feet tall and 115 lbs and I couldn't wash my hair without bumping the shower doors. The bed was the worst, worst, bed we slept in on all of our honeymoon (5 hotels throughout Europe.) It was SO hard. They used two twin beds pushed together (fairly normal in Europe) but the separation was such that we kept rolling into the middle. And the two pillows they provided were flat as pancakes. Sheets and towels smelled of ammonia. They couldn't provide an iron or ironing board- just a heads up. The staff was helpful and kind. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel Ca' d'Oro is a wonderful property in a terrific location. Convenient to everything. The staff was above and beyond. A family member left his cell phone in his room when we departed on a 7 day cruise. When we returned to Venice a week later he went back to the hotel and they had it in their safe waiting for him. Good breakfast too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel Ca' d'Oro was nice. We arrived in Venice by train so it was a long walk and hard to find. Our room was nice enough, bed was comfortable after a long day of walking and it was clean. Staff was helpful. Seemed a bit expensive for what you get, but let's face it, everything is expensive in Venice. Breakfast was ok with lots of choices. If you can't […] afford anything closer to the center of town, then you should stay here. After all, visiting Venice is not about the hotel. This is a safe and clean hotel. It is nearly a mile to Saint Mark's Basilica so be prepared to walk...but there is so much to see in between that it did not bother us at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel and great location"
We were very pleased with our hotel and with the part of the city where it was located. Also, try though we might, we never got permanently lost and kept ending up back at this hotel -- a real plus in Venice!Genuine Expedia guest review
Cute little hotel tucked away from all the craziness Venice has to offer. Cute shops and bars surrounding it, which was great. The only complaint I had was the distance from the public taxi station. It was a long walk and we were travelling heavy, and it was tough carrying luggage up and down stairs to get to the hotel. also, hotel didnt have any porter […] service. We told them about how tough it was to get there, but they didnt have much to say. They could have atleast suggested that we take the private taxi (which is more expensive but convenient). But they never mentioned it. We figured it out ourselves. Apart from that, its a good hotel. Small rooms, but will do. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming hotel - location and more!"
If you're going to Venice, you should definitely consider this location. It's very convenient to a vaporetto stop and even better compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Venice - no small bridges to go up and down to get to it. With luggage, that makes life so much easier. It was also convenient to San Marco and the Rialto areas. The people who work […] there are very nice and helpful, and, they were flexible with us in leaving a day early due to family obligations. It was extremely warm while we were in Venice but the room was cool. The only slight negative was the room was a little tight - not much room to work around considering the luggage. Without a doubt, I would stay there again and recommend it to others. Breakfast was fairly standard, similar to other hotels we stayed at in Italy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dream view onto canal"
It is situated in a quiet small corner that borders a residential area. I love this area since it is not in the crazyness of San Marco. The best part is the view onto the canal and the fact that a water taxi can pick you up at the door. Room is good size for non 5 star hotels in Venice Good air conditioning. Breakfast simple, rolls fruit cereal etc. Staff […] mostly friendly.5 min to Ca'd Ora vaparetto. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in quiet area"
Very pleasant one-night stay in triple occupancy. this room is located in the separate building, not the main building, but that is only room there, so it is extremely quiet and comfort. The room is spacious and the bathroom is just awesome. It seems they recently renovated so it is really modern.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location Location just a few minor complaints"
Overall we liked the hotel, it is just off the beaten path so it is very quiet, it is convenient to the inland and outland waterways(sits between the Ca d'Oro and F.teNove(Vaporetto/Alliguna) stops. Pluses, it has 2 great restaurants close by (Malibran & Da Alvise). The hotel's facilities are computer controlled so they could tell me the exact temp […] in my room yet they couldn't seem to lower it much below 26.5 Cent. Wifi was a bit spotty in the room but passable. Hotel and staff was good otherwise, breakfast was good as well. Would I stay here again, yes! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Gem of Venice"
Delightfully in the center of it all. 15 min walk to most everything. Piazza Di Roma boat drops u 5 min walk from hotel. Breakfast is comprehensive and elegantly european. Our stay at Ca' d'Oro was wonderful. Breakfast was simple, but good. It isn't located directly by St. Mark's square, but the walk to any part of the island is very doable: hotel reception is glad to help. We found the location to be rather ideal. Being away from the crowded, tourist areas made for peaceful nights. Our room had a view of a quaint canal; […] though, virtually all views of the city were rather awe inspiring. The staff was helpful, courteous and friendly. The room was small but clean. The hair dryer didn't work but was replaced within the day. Breakfast was good.
