My wife booked us for a night at Squaw, this was to be a relaxing getaway for the two of us from San Francisco to enjoy the quit of Tahoe in May. We stay at the hotel many times before, and ski at the resort, so we are use to a certain level of expectations. Unfortunately, this time around was not so great. The spa was closed down, this was a real bummer. […] On top of that, our bed was actually crooked, so we didn't have a good night sleep. This property certainly had location. You could walk right out into the Village and have several choices of restaurants and shops. The lifts were right there as well. The room was spacious and clean. Our family of five spent two nights here skiing over Christmas holiday. It was comfortable and very convenient to the mountain and olympic village. It wasn't luxurious and was pricey, but to be expected at this time of year. We would stay again.

Fairly run down (bit moldy and smelly), one bedroom is super small. One bathroom/BDR is hard, if traveling with 2 older kids(teenager). I would not recommend with older kids 1 BDR (take 2 BDR), because this is just way too small. The Village at Squaw Valley 'resort" (it is not a RESORT)this place is really more geared towards people who owned there […] not for us "guests". There is NO room service (no food or drinks of any kind), and if you are snowed in, this place has no restaurant on premisses to accommodate you for any meal or beverage service. Gym is almost nonexistent (1 treadmill and stepper in some "closet " like space), and there is nothing for kids to do there, you really have to go outside of the property for everything, even coffee is not available in the lobby in the morning. Do not get fooled by their pictures or some reviews, honestly this is 3 star condo like property it is very far away from RESORT title. True facts: location is awesome and it is close to many restaurants, but property and service are basic level. Read more

We got a 3-bedroom condo and the ad made it sound like it was 2 queens in each of the 2 bedrooms. I called and doubled checked and this was confirmed. It was not - there was 1 queen in one bedroom, 1 king in another, and 2 twins in the 3rd. Ended up being a little tight, but the room overall was absolutely great. Fortunately the couch pulled out.

If you want a quiet getaway, don't stay here. Walls are thin, a lot of noise, staff not very helpful. we called at 830 am to see about getting a trolley to take our stuff 3 floors downstairs to the parking garage and they told us they were too busy. We stayed at the hotel Thanksgiving weekend and we were pleased with our stay at Squaw. The studio suite is spacious -- there were 3 people in our group, one had to sleep in the sleeper sofa and 2 in the king sized bed. There was lots of room to move around and stow our luggage. Our room even has a quick access to the patio that leads to the spa/ sauna.. […] The best thing about it is the location. The tram is walking distance from our hotel building and all the restaurants are just close by. This is a plus since we did not rent a car. The front desk lady was not the most friendly person and I wasn't impressed by the way she talked to the customers. Convenience location, close to shops, restaurants and Truckee downtown. Room is clean and the kitchen is a big plus for family wants to cook. The hotel was nice. The kitchen was smaller than pictured and the bedrooms were small and cramped. We were on the 4th floor and even though the thermostat was set at 70, it was at least 80+ degrees in our room. Going from hot to cold wasn't healthy. There was little to no snow in the area even tho the ski season just opened. The snow tube was closed […] because of the rain the previous week and the hill at Squaw Creek was fun for the kids but dangerous as we saw numerous little ones get knocked over by sledders coming down the hill FAST! Ice skating was $20 one day and $10 the next for two kids when its $5 p/person at Northstar-no consistency. Overall, it was what we were looking for but not definitely not the best we've had. Beautiful setting in mountain valley at the base of ski area. Convenient shops in the "village." Would most definitely consider staying there again for a ski week or summer vacation. Bike path and all Lake Tahoe activities close by.

Some good, some not so good. Good: Excellent location in Squaw Village, surrounded by restaurants, and steps from the ski slopes. Large room, new couch in the room. Misses: No luggage rack, no ice bucket. Old tv, which was hard to see from the bed. Tired looking bedspread, and super hard, uncomfortable bed.

Overall, a good value for what is offered, especially since it was discounted. A nice place to stay in the off season (October) with great fall colors and no crowds. Excellent location for exploring North and West Lake Tahoe! Emerald Bay State Park and Sugar Pine Point State Park both have great hiking trails with excellent lake vistas (EB) and beach […] access (SPP) and the trails are short enough for young children (9 and 5) to explore and enjoy without becoming tired. Fantastic biking/hiking trail along Truckee River from Squaw to Tahoe City, next time we will bring our bikes for sure! Variety of dining options within the Village itself which is very convenient, Mamasake sushi was excellent. Easy breakfast, too. Disappointed that the tram only runs during the ski season, would have been lovely for fall colors. Will definitely think about this place again for skiing as it has excellent access. Read more

We stayed at this hotel twice, both times in a condo-style apartment with a kitchen - dining - living room area, a separate bedroom, and a "den" area with additional accommodations. The two apartments were different in as much as the den of one had a very fun log-house style bunk bed and a half bathroom separated from the main area with a sliding door. […] Our ten year-old daughter enjoyed it a lot. The second apartment's den had a sleeper couch instead of a bunk bed, no half bedroom in that area, and only curtains to close the den off from the main living area. It was fine as well, but I was surprised at the big difference. Both places had a balcony with nice views, and a fireplace. The "Village" itself is situated in the very scenic Squaw Valley, with views in every direction. The only thing that was a bit strange for us was that the "village" area - with shops, restaurants, out-door sitting areas - had music piped into it during daytime hours. That felt a bit out-of-place and artificial. The hotel area is nicely designed, but the view will include either a parking lot or the "village" area. Overall, we were very comfortable. Read more

We had planned to get away for some peace and quiet and did not quite understand that our condo was directly over the village shops and restaurants. When we arrived, they were in the middle of a big Octoberfest celebration complete with the oohm pah pah bands and all. So not so quiet, but we did enjoy the bratwurst! Booked the room for our wedding night. We had to leave early in the morning to get back for brunch, but it was worth it to wake up in the valley surrounded by mountains and see the Funitel and Tram, as well as the beautiful meadow on the way out. The condo/room was immaculate.

For a late summer escape, it's nice...but wish I were next to Lake. The accommodations are first class, love the pool table and hot tub, but I couldn't find the pool . The Village is getting old in years but the rooms are designed for Squaw Valley comfort. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless and functional. The mattresses on both beds are not of the quality or newness that I'd expect. Change them out and there would be comfort all around the 2-bedroom suite. We stayed in a one-bedroom condo. I was pleased with the upgraded kitchen-full sized refrigerator, stove and microwave and dishwasher. They supplied dishes, utensils, pots and pans. I loved having a fireplace and balcony. The downside was noise from the parking lot in early morning hours when the bars closed. We stayed during some hot summer days so […] needed to keep the windows open. It's a huge complex. I did look at a similar one bedroom condo at Squaw Valley Lodge and felt our room was nicer but their location is probably quieter.
