I've stayed here before and have lo it every time. However, as luck has it.. the outdoor pool was out if order and that is why we booked. Big let down for the kids. Not happy. I will always call ahead from now on.

Great staff and nice accomidatiions for business.
"Weekend trip to Austin"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel seems to have been renovated recently. Everything is very new, and extremely clean (and I am really picky). The bath has granite countertops, same as the small counter in the room (has a small sink), small fidge, coffee maker. The bed was absolutely comfortable, pillows fluffy. Special thanks to Bruce for his attention. He accomodated me in a room with a back view because I am very sensitive to the noise of the highway. The address to need to put on your GPS is the BLACKSON street, otherwise, you'll never get there. Call in advance and check. The neighborhood is not the best, but this hotel was close to the places I had to go to in Austin, and is 15 min away from downtown. Breakfast is very good also. Overall, great experience and I'll book it again, if I need to return to Austin.

The hotel was very nice, room was large (stayed in a corner unit). Pool and ground were very nice and well kept. Service was very good. Only thing is the gym was humid and hot, but the equipment was all new and good variety. Only other thing is the long drive through the subdiviision to get there. Without my GPS i would have been lost, but I will definitely be back with my kids to enjoy the pool.
"awesome stay in austin"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
I loved the pool, the room was clean, the rest of hotel was well kept, wanted to stay one more day because of the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel

"Great Breakfast and Free WiFi!"
I love this place. It is always a real treat to find a hotel that serves you a wonderful hardy breakfast and gives you free wifi. Friendly staff too. I travel a lot and you would be surprise how often this does not happen. I definitely will come back when I return to Austin.
"Great downtown hotel"
I was staying here for a nearby conference and this hotel was a great choice. The people at the front desk were exceptionally friendly every time I stopped by, the hotel was close to everywhere I wanted to go (the conference center, 6th Street, the Congress Ave. Bridge and the lake, Iron Works BBQ...), and I didn't have a single problem the entire time […] I was there. There are fancier hotels nearby, but I'm glad I went with this one. Read more
"great service"
We checked into the Hampton not knowing quite what to expect with our downtown hotel. The staff was especially friendly and went out of their way to help us find the concert venue as well as a competing hotel where we had planned to meet friends for happy hour. Our entire experience although brief was positive. The only disappointment was the fitness […] center which was meager by modern standards...luckily we enjoyed gorgeous weather and could take a walk. "great service!"
Great location... front desk was extremely accommodating.... we did not have a phone charger and the young man at the front desk took time to find a charger from his extra supply that worked with my phone and even plugged it in before we went to our room to make sure that it worked! Very refreshing to have someone take time to provide superior service... […] looking forward to staying there again next year after the MS 150 ride!! Read more

"Super close to 6th street"
Despite the construction going on next door, I enjoyed my time here. The construction did not affect my vacation, nor did I hear much noise from it. The hotel was well maintained and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. The only downfall is the valet-only parking.
"Valet Parking attendant gives misinformation"
When we pulled up to check in, we asked the attendant about the parking situation. He said it was $12 per day to park at one of the local garages or a "One time fee of $23 to park valet at the hotel" Both myself and my coworker understood "one time fee" to mean you pay $23 one time. When I get the bill, imagine my surprise to find $23 per day attached […] to my bill. The guy at the front desk was no help. He just told me. "They know better than to say that" Apparently Not! Should have offered to comp the 2 days of parking but didn't. I travel to Austin 2-3 times a year and always stay downtown. I won't stay at this hotel again nor will I recommend it to anyone else staying in downtown. Read more
"Excellent Service"
We were able to check in early and the staff took care of all our requests. I highly recommend this hotel. The location is ideal and close to 6th Street.

"Great hotel and great area"
Fantastic location, the only negative from my trip was the water pressure wasn't so great

"Great location, good value"
Great location in the middle of downtown Austin. Hotel room reasonably priced, but parking cost was high--valet service only. Breakfast was only 'good.'

"Great hotel-great location"
Our stay at the Hampton Inn was excellent. It's located near 6th street where all the bars and music are. The rooms are big and the bed comfortable. The excellent and varied breakfast is served in a very pleasant setting. The second day they offered an happy hour from 5h30-7h which allowed us to try the local beer. Will go back definitely!
"Hampton Downtown"
Enjoyed my stay here, the staff was very polite and the rooms clean. I was somewhat disappointed that the pool was closed for repair, however glad to find out we could use another hotel's pool a few blocks away. Would stay here again.
"Very Standard"
Very standard hotel, nothing great, nothing bad. Average stay. Only complaint is that the beds were a little small
"Close to 6th street"
Downtown in austin. Had a great time.
"Downtown austin"
Great hotel close to all the sites on 6th
"Best bang for your buck in Austin!!"
From now on, we're making this our go to spot to stay in Austin. It's perfectly located within walking distance to all the major places in Austin. It was a GREAT value for what it was and the staff was amazing. We were treated so well by the assistant manager who took extra care to make sure we had a great stay. We traveled down with our bikes and the […] manager called us about storing them and caring for them during our stay. We saw him several times and he was always so cheerful and helpful. He knew all the hot spots and had great recommendations. We've stayed at several other hotels in downtown Austin but this has become our go-to. It's always a great price for a room too! Large comfortable rooms with actual views! MAKE THIS YOUR AUSTIN HOME! Read more
"Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Austin"
This hotel is extremely convenient and a lovely place to stay. The only reason I gave it a 4 for overall rating is a noise issue if your room is on the front of the hotel facing some restaurants.

"Great location and great price!"
4 blocks of 6th with all of the bars and restaurants. Nice, quiet, clean room at a great price.
"Hampton Inn Austin"
Lots of Construction going on now. Very loud during the week :( We were not told about that and that the pool is is on the west side of Hotel. No sun until late in the p.m. :(
"Hampton Inn Austin -- Very friendly"
One of the friendliest places I've ever stayed -- the person at the Front Desk even complimented me on my tie.
"Good stay for work"
Stayed there two night for work and had a good experience. Check in was easy, room was very clean. Refrigerator in room a big bonus, and you can park on the street for free between 8 and 8 on weekdays, and totall free on Sundays. Plenty of restaurants right outside the front door, and plenty within just a short walk. Only issue I encountered was they […] are doing a lot of construction right next to the hotel, so the clanking started early in the morning. If you're going for vacation and want to sleep late, this is something to consider. Those there for work, it's not a big deal as you'd probably be getting up at that time anyway. Read more
"Comfortable hotel in downtown Austin"
I spent 3 nights at the Hampton Inn in downtown Austin recently and found the service and accommodations to be very pleasant. The valet service, while a little pricey, was superb. The gentlemen working valet were professional and courteous, very helpful with directions and suggestions as well. They were lighting fast when retrieving the car in the […] morning. Check in was easy and painless, the clerk was friendly and helpful, even suggesting a wonderful place for dinner. The room was perfectly fine, nothing special, no complaints. The a/c worked, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The mattresses are probably due for an update as they are getting a bit lumpy. The breakfast options were outstanding and plentiful. If you left hungry it wasn't for lack of options. The area was staffed appropriately by pleasant ladies who I chatted with each morning. The one thing that I did not enjoy, which is out of the hotels control, but you should be aware of, is that the hotel is sitting in the middle of a construction zone! There are structures being built on 2 sides of the building and they begin working early which was a bit of a let down since I was in town on a leisure trip. Read more
"Hampton Downtown Austin"
I stayed at the Hampton Downtown Austin for a conference. I found the accommodations to be nice. The location was a 10 minute walk to 5th and 6th street where there was evening entertainment and live music. There are several nice restaurants across the street from the hotel. There is a charge for valet parking as would be expected at any hotel in downtown. […] My only complaint is that the valet was not clear about the parking. We needed to access the car for a phone charger and they said we could keep the keys, so when it was time to leave, we got the car to leave and we were chewed out by a valet attendant about us not letting them get the car. They were not clear about that when they said we could keep the keys. The attendant could have been more polite and gentle on us. Otherwise, it was a good stay. Read more
"Great Room, Valet was a NIGHTMARE!"
We recently stayed for SXSW. Great location, room was amazing for the price that weekend as well. However, the valet parking that weekend was crazy. They did not have enough people working the valet so it took FOREVER! And when we returned for the night we went to valet the car and decided to walk around downtown for a couple hours. We waited a little […] after handing the keys to the valet to watch him park it. My husband had expensive music equipment in the car and we didn't want it left on the street. After waiting awhile we just left. When we returned 2 hours later the car was still parked on the side of the road. Needless to say we were very disappointent, when we spoke to the valet about the issue, he procceed to MOCK me, which sent my husband in a fit. We paid to park our car VALET only to have it left on the street. They removed the charge only after a heated discussion with the front desk. We will not be staying there again. Read more
"Not the cleanest, but..."
Positive: Great location, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Negative: They need to vacuum more carefully and also wipe down doors, telephones, cabinets more often as there were smears and fingerprints on them. Also, the rooms are a bit small.
"Hampton Inn and Suites Austin - great location"
This hotel is very close to convention center, government offices and downtown attractions. Several 4-5 star restaurants within walking distance and 6th bars and music just 3 blocks away. Wi-fi provided, breakfast has wide variety of cold foods and 2 hot selections. Corner crepe/coffee shop with entrance via lobby. Lower floors have some street noise, […] but upper floor room was very quiet and comfortable. Good choice for a multiple night stay. Read more
"Ideal location"
Nice restaurants within walking distance, near the convention center, easy 15 min walk to Capitol & Bob Bullock Museum. Staff is courteous, welcoming, efficient, helpful. Breakfast has choices for all dietary needs. Great value.
Hotel was clean, comfortable. Located in the middle of downtown, 4 blocks from Austin City Limits.
"Great downtown location."
Very friendly/helpful staff. Great continental breakfast.

"Nice"
This is a great location, just wished we did not have to pay $24.00 for overnight parking, that is a little ridiculous.
"Good quality 4 blocks from great music venues"
A top quality hotel within just a short walk to great restaurants and bars from 2nd to sixth streets. Also walking distance to Congress Ave bridge and the flight of the bats. Room was great, pillow top mattress was quite welcome after our previous hotel. Breakfast spread was good, the pleasant atmosphere of the mezzanine making it even better. Lots […] of conveniences such as a gym and lots of internet connectivity. Read more

"Awesome Hotel and service"
The hotel was beautiful, service was outstanding and location was superb but room was very warm, and I couldnt sleep much because of that. Also there was no control over temperature in room and couldnt open a window. Was 55- 65 degrees outside. I am a small person and usually comfortable but was actually sweating in the morning trying to get ready for […] the day. Ugh! Would have rated it higher but that was miserable night. Read more

Excellent location. Decent room. Maid staff did not replace coffee, tissues, and washcloths which annoyed me. Otherwise it was fine
"Just ok"
It's fine, nothing special, but for the price being cheaper than anything around downtown, it's good. Staff was friendly and i had no problem. Overall the place is getting a little worn. Cons: Gym was cramped, lap pool was small. My tub drain in Room 907 was very slow/clogged.
"Great stay- I'll return!"
I stayed here while visiting from Chicago to run the Austin Marathon. I needed a hotel near the start line and the location was perfect. It was clean, the pool was relaxing, and the service was excellent. There's a small shop to buy food 24 hours a day, so that helped with my late night cravings! Free wifi is a major plus!
Excellent hotel. Super helpful staff. Free breakfast was the cherry on top. Will stay here again.
"Hampton Inn and Suites Austin Downtown"
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. The location of the hotel was perfect in that we were able to walk to E. 6th Street (where all the partying takes place) and W. 6th Street (where the crowd was more our speed). There were chain and non chain restaurants within a short walking distance. The hotel was very safe as is the downtown […] area. The rooms and service were what have come to expect from the Hampton Inn and Suites we have stayed previously. We did not like the cost of parking at the hotel so we parked across the street at the Convention Center for half the price. Read more

"Great Location"
They were very accommodating for us since my husband was running the marathon. They allowed us a late check out to allow him time to shower after the race. The location and service at this hotel is excellent. They also opened the breakfast service early the day of the race to allow runners an opportunity to eat prior to the race. I only wish they had […] a shuttle service so that my husband could have gotten a lift to the start line rather than having to walk. Read more

"Great location, slightly worn room"
This hotel is right in the middle of downtown. An easy walk from bars and restaurants on Congress and 6th streets. I didn't use my car at all while I was there. The lobby of the hotel looked nice and the staff were friendly, but my room looked a little more worn than I expect from a Hampton Inn. Everything was clean, but there were stains, scratches, […] etc. Also, the only hotel parking is valet. I believe you can park overnight in the public garage a block away. Read more
