We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

Room was good - a great value for the price! Just a few minor complaints - TV remote didn't work; a little noisy late at night (Saturday night; we were next to the elevator). Beds: very comfortable. Pillows, not so much (overly firm). Bathroom small but clean, bath/shower good, water pressure and temperature fine. Nice pool, adequate gym. Convenient in/out parking, reduced price with hotel validation. Front desk staff: helpful and polite.

Spacious rooms, generous continental breakfast, pleasant reception and concierge, easy valet parking. The only thing keeping this from feeling perfect is that the fitness equipment needs maintenance or replacement, which I hope is imminent. They donate their used soap and shampoo to a local shelter, which is wonderful. In terms of service, we were awoken […] by unruly guests and called to alert the front desk. "Excellent Hotel for a Decent Price"
I stayed in one of the suites here with a king size bed and I was very impressed with the quality of the service and the amenities of the room. There s free wifi which was great, because coming from the states, we could not use our phones so we were able to contact people via internet if necessary. Also, the full kitchen was great. We were there two […] nights, so we walked the 15 minutes to the IGA and bought food to cook for dinner and lunch the next day. There was also a complimentary breakfast which was decent, so we only ended up needing to go out for one meal which was a great money saver. There is valet parking also, which was very convenient. The only thing I really disliked was the comfort of the bed; the mattress was very firm, and I had a tough time sleeping one it. overall, a good experience. nothing over the top. breakfast is nothing to rave about so don't consider it an "include". alot of construciton going on around the neighborhood and all back rooms look out over a parkinglot. hotel staff was totally lovely and helpful. rooms were warm and comftorable.

This hotel was clean, updated and everything was very convenient. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The pool was small and nice, the water a bit cold and still enjoyable. Nicely located within walking distance to the Old Port. Will definitely go back there again.

Very nice place to stay in Montreal. Close to everything ,you can walk to just about any where you want to go.The only draw back is the parking fee,22.00 + tax. Parking is at the hotel thought they could do better for the guest.

These are great rooms, I gather they were formally studio apartments. So there is a real stove, real fridge, huge room, But there are so many great dining opportunities within a 5 min walk they we did not use the kitchen in the 4 days there. "Excellent Hotel"
This hotel is located within walking distance of old Montreal, the metro and buses. Very centrally located. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The concierges are awesome! They really know the city well. The room was much more than I expected, spacious and well laid-out. We will definitely stay at Le Square Phillips again!!!

The hotel is quite nice and the people on staff are very friendly. I found it very convenient and was able to walk to most of my destinations. The room itself is huge, and I liked the fact that they offered a wired internet option (I am concerned about security of wireless in hotel rooms sometimes). Nice bathroom, and very clean. I also liked the fact that the business center was well-maintained, was not too crowded, and they didn't nickel and dime me for printouts. located close to many restaurants, metro stops and tourist attractions, this is a wonderful choice. Rooms are hugh and contain a full kitchen. Staff was very gracious and speaking little to no french is not an issue.

This is a terrific older hotel, located in downtown, about fifteen minutes' walk to Old Montreal, and very close to the central shopping district. Our suite was an immaculate bedroom with efficiency kitchen and nice bath. Wireless internet was free in the room, and a good continental breakfast was included. The room furnishings were nicely updated, […] and the high ceilings and large windows gave a bright, airy feeling to the room. The only negative: parking is sparse or expensive. We dropped off our Hertz rental within 10 minutes of checking in (only two blocks away) Having a car inside Montreal is more trouble than it is worth. The hotel staff and concierge could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We stayed only one night, as we were embarking on a cruise ship. The hotel is a 10 minute taxi ride away from the pier. This hotel has very large spacious room with kitchen, stove, oven, dishwaher, and small amout of glasses, cups, dishes, silverware, coffee, tea, sugar and dry creamer as well as a comfortable bed, TV and computer access.
"A great hotel"
We spent two nights during a family vacation. This is an excellent hotel at a very good location, close to subway, underground city, and restaurants. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is adequate. Our room (a suite) has ample space for two adults and two children.

"Le Square Phillips in Montreal never disappoints"
We have stayed at this hotel on our last three visits to Montreal, and every stay has more than met our expectations. The rooms are clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the staff is helpful. We liked the location--close to McGill University and to the shopping district. Having breakfast included and free internet service were welcome perks.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The location is excellent; easy walk to many major sites around Montreal, as well as to the Metro. "Le Square Phillips. Family friendly, great locale"
Great location for our 2 day weekend stay. Full kitchen! Not that we were cooking, but a good deal for a longer term stay. So spacious for our family of 5 (including teens) Friendly staff - held our bags and would have checked us in early if room had been available. Good breakfast provided. Rooftop pool (indoor) and outdoor deck nice.
