I did not find one towel/linen that did not contain a hole or someone else's hair. The table was softer than the bed. The temperature was constantly fluctuating, and differed depending on where you were at in the room. I became sick because of these issues.

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. I very quickly noticed the drinking glasses in my room were not being replaced each day. They were the same dirty glasses. I complained to the front desk and the situation continued. I complained to the supervisor of housekeeping and the situation continued. I complained to an executive staff member and was told it was not hotel policy to place fresh glasses in the rooms every day. He further explained it was impossible to do so because the housekeepers did not have access to clean glasses and in his many years of hotel experience he never heard of a hotel providing fresh drinking glasses each day. he said housekeepers were under instruction to simply wipe off and hand wash the glasses while cleaning the room. Acknowledging this still at times left streak marks and grime on the glasses, it was made clear to me nothing would change. I found this outrageous and after so many complaints would it have been so difficult for the hotel to instruct the housekeeper that the gentleman in room such and such requests two clean fresh glasses each day? What a silly little matter to totally offend a long term guest. The hot breakfast buffet was considerably overpriced, poor choices and the food was bland. The location was great as far as public transportation and city center sights. If food value and clean glassware are not of concern to you, I'd say go ahead and stay here. If any of this concerns you, I say keep shopping. I'd never spend another dime there.

Staff were really friendly; my room wasn't quite ready when I checked in (owing to an early morning arrival in Melbourne) so I was upgraded to a better room. Room was very comfortable with a lovely bed and bathroom. Although carpets were tired and quite stained throughout the hotel, the rest of the amenities were clean and germ free. Location is excellent, right opposite Flinders Steet Station, and just round the corner from all the main attractions. I'd definitely recommend this to single travellers and couples alike looking for a short term base in the city.

Great location, within walking distance of shopping, local restaurants, free city shuttle and public transportion. Free internet access. Hotel staff are nice and helpful.
