My wife and I are repeat visitors. The location is convenient, the staff always cheerful, and we appreciate the privilege of bringing our dogs inside. I particularly enjoy strolling the grounds .

The food in the restaurant was excellent.. The whole lodge was very comfortable, comfortable couches strategically located and around the fireplace. I would like to have the opportunity to stay here and just wander around the gardens and enjoy the whole of it. The personnel were very pleasant and courteous. We stayed at the Green last year , and will always stay there if we are in the area. I would also recommend it to others, both personal friends and family. The venue is beautiful even in the dead of winter, the rooms are spacious, nicely appointed and really private. The gardens are great and the restaurant and lounge are superb. Staff is well informed […] and available, the complementary breakfast is the real thing...all in all it is a GREAT place to stay for an overnight or a weeks vacation. The curb appeal of the hotel upon entry is very quaint and just lovely. The fact that it's a motor lodge where you drive up to your room is something you completely overlook because the grounds are just perfect. The whole place is so green and lush with walkways, bridges and large grassy areas right out of a romance novel. I understand they are remoldeling […] the rooms building by building so this place will be even better after they complete the work. They provide a pretty decent continental breakfast, with fresh piping hot waffles, baked breads as well as toast, fruit and of course coffee! It's about 15 minutes on I5 to get to the offramp to the center of Eugene. Not too bad and you just can't beat the price. Read more

The hotel is very sad. 25 years ago it was the pride of Cottage Grove. Currently half the rooms are boared up and many of the others should be. It should either be demolished or have a total rebuild.

We were told they remodeled recently, but the units on our street were old and carport looked like it might fall down. A space under front door required me to put a towel across bottom. Beds were hard but clean. Toilet did not flush properly, bathrooms were in need of updating. Staff were frindely but almost every piece of info I asked for was wrong (hours of nearby fitness center they have a deal with, where a certain store was, etc.) so was frustrating - train them! Front desk provided coupons at check-in, but didn't mention them and they were stuck behind the paperwork so although we had dinner and beverages, we were not able to take advantage of the 20% off they provided because they failed to mention the coupons to us. A nice offer, but disappointing!

The rooms are what you expect for the price, they are clean and spacious. The cons about this place was the proximity to the freeway so when you in the gardens enjoying them, all you hear is the sound of the freeway, a slightly earlier check-out than other hotels (11 am), breakfast served until 10 am but lunch isn't served until noon so if you miss breakfast and you check out, you have to wait for an hour before lunch. Gas fireplace in the room was very cozy in January. Comfortable beds with 4 extra-plumpy pillows on each. The breakfast area (restaurant) was exceptionally attractive. We received a call from the front desk with complaints that we were talking loud or the tv was loud. The linen/blanket/comforter was very worn out. The internet was so slow, if it worked at all, that the front said it was because they were next to Walmart and people were accessing their site from there.

We reserved three rooms last June for an Oregon football weekend in October. Upon check in we found that we were in the "old" part of the resort. The rooms looked and smelled as if they had the original decor from the 60's or 70's. The formica counters were chipped, the towels and bedding were threadbare, there was mold in the bathroom, etc. etc. etc.. […] The remodeled buildings of the resort looked fine from the outside and that portion of the parking lot was full. While the grounds were beautiful, and the reception area was quite lovely, it certainly gave a false indication of what the rest of the resort was like. We were placed in a room (in a long row of like rooms) that was old and quite smelly. There was extreme mold and dry rot in the eaves and car port area right on top of the rooms. The beds were very […] unattractive, flat and the bedspreads stained. The carpet was excessively stained. The room was dark, dirty looking and very outdated. The room did not even have an ironing board/iron or blow dryer. We did drive through the rest of the complex and could see that there were updated areas and then areas that looked as though they should be condemned. My opinion is that they should completely shut down and wait to reopen until all remodel is complete. It certainly has potential to be a really nice place but certainly not at this point. It is a health and safety hazard with all the rot and mold. It is clearly not a 3 star facility at this time. Read more

Lovely grounds - I especially liked our little deck with the flowering cherry tree. The rooms/bathrooms have slight dirt and damage but nothing that would make a stay uncomfortable. We had hot water and a good mattress. However, a rock band was playing there that evening, and it was very loud in the room. We stopped at Village Green Resort on our way from LA to Seattle because it looked like a nice place to stay and we didn't wish to stop in Eugene. It was far more than "nice". The room was clean and comfortable and nicely furnished, but the real treat was the large park like garden, the fireplace cove where you could have a glass of wine before dinner, […] the restaurant which was very attractive and the food very good, and the surrounding country which is Oregon beautiful. The place seemed appealing because it wasn't like the bajillion other chains right off the high way...it's nice to mix it up. Very close to the highway and a cute, unique layout and feeling. I got upgraded because it wasn't super crowded, and our room had it's own little back patio. Decor is a tiny bit cheesy/not of my tastest, but totally admirable […] effort. Best part that I wasn't expecting at all, were the HUGE gardens out back. There's something like 16 beautiful themed gardens connected out back.
