This was our 2nd stay at the Legacy. We took a 2-BR apartment, which was quite nice for a family of 5. Kitchen area, dining room, etc. were helpful for us to save money on food and so forth. The room was showing its age a bit with loud appliances and fans, but these were relatively minor issues. We had a great experience with the Legacy Vacation Suites at Steamboat. The is an older facility, but we had everything that we needed. Flat screen TV's, Hot Tub, full kitchen. We were in Unit A202, the only issue we had was the front Door. The door was very hard to close, and made lots of noise each time you closed it.

Good place in a good location. Condo was clean and comfortable. Dishes and towels are provided. I'd like it if they had free wi-fi in the rooms not just the lobby. The only thing I was not completely satisfied with was the shuttle that takes you up to the ski area. It is supposed to go every 10 minutes and it definitely did not. One day we were waiting […] at the ski area to go back and it took about 25 minutes! There were so many people waiting at that point they almost didn't fit inside as it only holds a limited amount of people. The driver did not apologize or anything. I timed how long it takes from the condos to ski area and it is 4 minutes. The next day we were getting back during the shuttle "on-call" hours so we called the number to get the shuttle to come. It did not come for almost 20 minutes after our call so we ended up taking a city bus that also services the ski area (blue line, just in case...). That is not OK. The person that took that call was uninterested and unhelpful so I wonder if they even told the shuttle driver someone's waiting... If they fix this issue it is a great place. Read more

This was one of the most disappointing stays we have ever experienced. The rooms were cold and the heaters took most of the evening to kick in. There was only one extra blanket for 3 of us and we never did get the extra we asked for. The sheets and blankets felt as if they hadn't been washed. Then everytime the laundry was done next door to our room […] the tub in our bathroom would fill up with filthy water. They never fixed this and the maid they promised to send to clean the tub never showed. When we checked out and asked to be reimbursed they "generously" offered to give us back our resort fee of $8.00. They finally offered a certificate for a stay at one of their other facilities which we will have to check to see if the quality is the same. We will be MUCH cautious in our choices next time. Can’t fix stupid: The first night the computer system wasn't working and they had us sign a sheet of paper then put my CC# on the back of that sheet of paper. (Not the smartest of ideas, I know.)They noted down that on Sunday I would like the room freshened up (already included in the price). The chaos started on the 2nd night at 10pm, the front desk […] called our phone 2 times and did not say a word so we thought it was some kids having a good time. The next 2 times our phone rang, we neglected to answer. The hotel staff came knocking on our door 5 min later and just said ‘ok’ and left. Then the phone rang for a 5th time! We answered and all they asked for our last name because of the computer issues. They could have solved this the first time they called. BUT! They came knocking on our door at 8am again. That night we get back around 10pm and our key doesn’t work. We are on the 3rd floor and the stairs were ice filled and 0 deg F outside! When we went to the front desk, they said that there is this confusion with computers and that they still needed my CC# and for me to sign this sheet. As I said before I already gave it to them the first day! They eventually found the sheet I signed and had my CC# on the back and I didn’t even get an apology from the front desk. I think this whole situation was completely rude and could have been handled in one phone call. Made reservations at this condo timeshare when it offered special pricing. If I paid for a timeshare, I'd be rather upset at the lack of maintenance and overall condition of the room. I will say that the beds were comfortable, it was very close to the ski resort with easy access to downtown, restaurants, and shopping (groceries and others), but otherwise […] it was not worth money spent (even for a deal). Here are the lowlights: no extra bedding (just one blanket in a sheet duvet), the bathroom exhaust fans noisely (emphasis on noisely!!) exhausted into the condo rather than outside, multiple lightbulbs were out or not the correct wattage (lower than needed), multiple outlet covers missing, no housekeeping thus you had to ask for extra coffee and/or trash pickup, doors to bathroom and bedroom did not latch shut, no basic cooking items (i.e. salt and pepper, coffee filters, etc.), phone never worked even though I informed the front desk and was assured that it would be "cleared", mold in the bathroom shower. Although each of these individually would have been no big deal, all together it added up to a very disappointing experience. Would not recommend. Read more

Excellent location for families - shuttle to slopes worked well. Suite was plenty of room for Mom, Dad, and two teens. Cooking was easy in the well-appointed kitchen. Staff was helpful and friendly. Blankets were light for winter temps, a down comforter would have been appreciated. Great stay and we'll be back.

We had a two-bedroom suite, but there was only one bed in each room, so we ended up having to use the hide-a-bed, which did not work well for us. I was expecting that one of the rooms would have two beds. I doubt I would stay here again with more than one other person. It is not a good set-up for familys with children, unless they don't mind sharing […] a queen-size bed. I use Hotels.com with the expectation that the whole bill is prepaid. This place charges a $3.99 (per night?) "Resort Fee." If the price had been $4 more, I wouldn't have minded, but don't start with the add-ons!

This is the second time we've stayed here, and we really enjoyed it. It's right on the free bus line that goes to downtown Steamboat Springs. We cook most of our meals ourselves, so having two grocery stores within walking distance is very handy. The kitchen is minimallly but adequately stocked. The hot tub is wonderful? We have found that lodgings in ski towns tend to show more use and abuse, in general, than no ski towns. That being said, we did not find that to be the case at this facility. The bed was super comfy and the front desk staff were nice. We liked the spaciousness of our room. The problem was they have old swamp coolers for A/C in a 3rd floor room on a 90+ degree day. Our stay was ok and the staff was friendly enough. Condo is close and convenient to groceries and Walmart. However, we were rudely awaken at 5:15am by the trash pick-up at the neighboring restaurant early on Friday morning. The two rooms were comfortable enough, but the mattress on the sofa sleeper is in need of replacement to something more comfortable. […] The condo is only cooled by a swamp cooler which ran out of water each day and when it ran dry, it only blew hot air. Maintenance came with a large bucket and filled the cooler though when we called the front desk. The hotel was getting ready to close down for a month between seasons, Our unit was pretty basic. The toilet in the bathroom kept running on and we brought it to the attention of the front desk. Someone attempted to fix it but was unsuccessful and left the lid to the tank on the bathroom floor. There was no maid service and only dishwasher detergent […] to do one load which meant we ran out of dishes. There was also only one regular coffee pod so we can not make another pot for our second and third days. At check out the front desk person tried to charge my husband a $50 resort fee which was not part of the listing. We stayed here from 3/28-3/31 and the place was clean and nicely furnished. We felt the place was roomy for the three of us. It looked as if it had recently been painted. The kitchen was stocked with everything dish, silverware, mugs, glasses and cooking tools that you might need. It even had a blender as well as pots and pans. Microwave and coffee […] maker. Plenty of towels and pillows as well as extra blankets. Each room has a ceiling fan which was really nice. Each room also had a television and the master bedroom had a DVD player. The staff was very nice but Barry at the front counter was so very helpful with any questions that may arrive. The hotel is very close to Safeway and around the corner is a center with another grocery store as well as a Walmart and eating establishments. I've stayed in quite a few places in Steamboat from the swanky mountain resort hotels to the least expensive place in Steamboat and this place is great! The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel pots and pans and pretty much anything you need to cook with and there is a nice table for 6 people. You should put door jams on the doors to the rooms from the hallway. Allot of noise and cold air comes into the room as there is about a 2 inch gap. Other than that, the room was updated nicely and clean and comfortable. The excersise room wasn't finished.

The door had a big gap under it which let in a lot of cold air. One of the hot tubs was cold. We waited a long time to catch the shuttle but when it came there wasn't enough room so we ended up taking the city bus. There was no extra silverware or pans which made it difficult to make and eat meals. We did get an extra pan when we asked for it.

Really liked the layout of the 2-room suite. 2 bathrooms with showers are real nice with 4 skiers sharing a room, and the kitchen and dining table were plenty large. We could've had 5 people in there no problem, maybe 6. They have a free shuttle to/from the ski hill every 15 minutes or so, or the free city bus stops right across the street too. Either […] way it's just a 5 minute ride to the base of the Gondola. They have 2 hot tubs in a room off the main lobby. The only bummer there is you have to walk outside from the lobby back to your room, not inside warm hallways. Safeway grocery store is literally across the street (with Starbucks inside), so we cooked our own dinners, packed sandwiches for lunches, and had cereal & milk & eggs for breakfast. Saved a lot of money vs. eating out or paying at the ski hill cafes. On the downside - the hotel is showing its age a little bit... not too bad, but you can tell the carpet and furnishings and light fixtures are several years old. There were small flat-screen TV's in each bedroom. But the free Wi-Fi service is only in the lobby area, not in your room, which can be a bummer for some people. I'd still recommend the hotel. You get a 2-bedroom suite for the price of a studio room at the ski hill. And it was comfortable, clean, and convenient. Read more

If wifi were available in the guest rooms, this would be the greatest bargain in SS. Shuttle service to the mountain if you need it, but parking isn't bad if you drive and it's about a mile away. Second stay, and will go back next time there's a race in SS.

My husband and I stayed at the Legacy for two nights. We were impressed with the condo and the staff. The condo was in excellent condition and nicely decorated. Everything worked and it was spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a grocery store just across the street and a drop off/pickup spot for the shuttle is right next door.

This hotel is currently under remodeling, and the room we had was not yet re-done. The room was clean and well-maintined, but the couch and chair were quite used, and droopy. Beds were OK. Since I don't require high-class surroundings, this was just fine for our purposes.
