The room was really comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a little cramped but in good condition. We had the corner room, so I'm not sure if our room was a little bit bigger than other rooms. We checked in really late and had to check out the next morning for a train trip to Lech...so we didn't really get to explore too much. We did walk to some nearby […] stores in the area, and it seemed like a cool area. The bar scene was hopping in the area when we were trying to locate the hotel the night before. We walked from the train station to the hotel, so that was a bit of a pain with our luggage even though it was pretty close. We didn't eat at the hotel or check out the lounge that they told us about so I can't speak to that. The beds were comfortable but the pillows need upgrading. Read more

I was very pleased with my 3 night stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. I use the train and the HB is a 5 minute walk. I had the breakfast buffet and one dinner at the hotel and the service and food were fine.

It was great. At first, the hotel manager wasn't overly friendly, but he quickly warmed up, and ended up being extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, tips on getting to the airport, etc. We got the best room in that it was in the corner so was a little larger than the other surrounding rooms. Other than the fact that the room was extremely small even by European standards it was fine for the one night I stayed there before flying back to the States. The price was good for Zurich and the location was very important being less than a 10 minute walk from the central train station. There is a bad streetcar inersection with many rails to cross […] on the way to the hotel if you are dragging your luggage. There was a good bit of noise from streetcars and traffic all night but it's tolerable. I would recommend this hotel if location near the station and price are primary factors. Read more

Hotel is decorated in a modern style with touches reflecting past plays staged in the adjacent theater. Having read other reviews before booking this hotel, I was expecting the room to be tiny. Free Wi-Fi worked fine. 1st night we were in a room on the uphill side and street noise was bothersome during the night. When we returned for the 2nd night we requested a quiet side room and had no problems. Zurich is an expensive city and this hotel is a good value in the balance of comfort, amenities, location and cost. The walk to the train station is easy - even pulling luggage. We did not get the hotel breakfast which seemed too expensive. It is easy to pick up breakfast of a coffee and roll at nearbuy Starbucks, McD's or many places in the shops under the train station. This Hotel is in an excellent location to explore the old part of Zurich. Everything is within walking distance, and it is about 2 blocks from the Zurich HB train station. The room is a little small, but very nice and had a great view of the streets below.

What we liked about the hotel the most was that it was close to the train station. The Major problem with the hotel location was that it was also in the RED LIGHT DISTRICT. Less than a block from the hotel we noted 6-8 ladies of the evening trying to earn a living. Poor idea for families or children. Makes you wonder. The service at this hotel was great. Super friendly staff and very helpful. Unfortunately the staff can't help that: - The rooms are extremely small - The rooms are very noisy due to tram and traffic. Also the pillows where extremely uncomfortable. We got new pillows, but they were also very flat and gave no support at all.

If you are going to spend time in Zurich - particularly in the old town area - the location is very good - walking distance from the train station and everything in old town. The room we had was very small - almost no room to walk around the bed (made placement of our luggage an issue). The hotel location is fabulous - just about 200 meters from the Central tram stop and near the hauptbanhhof. Lots of little eateries to choose from. Front desk folks very friendly and helpful. Fantastically convenient as by Central bus/tram stop. Can get Tram 10, which runs every ten minutes or so straight from the airport. Can virtually walk to everything from here although can take a bus/tram if you are feeling lazy. The downside is there is some noise because of its position and also quite expensive by Uk standards although most hotels […] are substantially more. You can go to Migros in the next street down and about 300m along (also one in the main station - 2nd floor down) for a cheaper breakfast and other supplies. Excellent location, about 8 mins walk from the Hauptbahnhof and 20 mins to the Tour gathering point (Shilquai Bus Terminal). There is a COOP supermarket about 5 mins away too. You can take the Glattbahn number 10 from Zurich Kloten airport and it stops very near the hotel, at Central station. I was dissapointed with this hotel. The room as vgery small, there was no air in the room. So called cooling system - does not work . I could not sleep all night. I was stuck on a business call for two hours, so I decided to call room service for some food and drink (dial ext. 139 according to printed propaganda in my room). I called several times, no one ever answered the phone. The ladies of the evening on the street were a nice touch however. Highly agressive, keep your hand on your wallet.

Perfection location. Get no 10 tram from the airport to within 20 metres of the hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were small but free wifi. Great value. Would stay there again but although zurich is a beautiful city I found it extremely expensive.

Great location with short walk to main train station and tram to airport and Coop supermarket and the whole city centre. Very helpful pleasant staff with excellent english. Compact but well fitted out modern rooms with decent beds. Doubles have a bath. Free wifi so an ipad helped offset limited english speaking tv.

They had a month-long, partial-construction scheduled for at least nearly all of August 2012. On the day I stayed, they started drilling and hammering very very loudly beginning at 7.30 am. I called reception after waiting 15 minutes, but they said they had notices up in the elevator -- they did not seem to care at all that I was not warned at the time […] of making the reservation or when I checked into the hotel.
